http://www.darkhorizons.com/news04/040806c.php Bryan Singer Wants Tom Welling Posted: Friday August 6th, 2004 3:53pm (Au-EST) Author: Garth Franklin Source: Superman V reports that they've heard that Director Bryan Singer has offered the role of Superman to "Smallville" star Tom Welling! This will please many fans as he is BY FAR the most requested for the role. The thing to note is that Welling has shown a reluctancy towards playing Superman and despite the change in management on the project this still seems to be the case, thus it is unlikely that he will accept. With Singer and the Donners on board and rumours of Christopher Reeve being involved Welling might change his mind but the site hasn't heard anything to indicate that is the case. The offer is on the table and we believe it is a two picture deal. With Singer wanting to get his Superman soon he wants an answer sometime before the end of the month. Thanks to 'JVSamurai', 'Paul' & 'Gustavo'.

I have this one myself... didn't paint it though but it's a pretty sweet kit, all the detail in the way the frame and armour move is amazing.

yeah, the hips are much more narrow in the prototype, makes it seem taller, less squat and the head seems different, looks flatter in the beta pics... still getting it, hoping the difference is because of the materials and not design changes, but I can deal.

so I got a part time job at a local toy store hoping to get the MPC alpha at a discount... we were re-arranging the MPC VF-1 toys the other day and I just have to say, these alpha had better be MUCH higher in quality and craftsmanship because those things were just horrible... I just had to share... man, to all those people who prefer the MPC over the 1/60's... you all are just kidding yourselves.

not sure what to say about the expression on his face... either very angry or about to be very happy. -
Which chain has the WORST customer service?

oh man, if you're going to talk about selling return stuff, look no further than Fry's... no lie, they have shelves where every freaking unit of a particular item is an opened return... (my local fry's in fountain valley, CA) the service there is also amazingly bad... but for a while tolerable because they had some pretty cute girls working there... -
dude... that's HARSH.. i robot was okay, it was nowhere near the craptacularness of van helsing. maybe if the robot stared off into space and wondered what the sea looked like...

NEW(ER) AVP (Aliens versus Predator) Trailer.

looks interesting... I see the director is a fan of the shoot it so close and in the shadows so the audience can't make heads or tails of the fight scene school of thought. -
looks interesting so far, would like to see what battroid looks like. me personally, I think the front half and the rear, specially the tail assembly aren't resolving too well... need something to tie those two areas together. What about making the belly a bit lighter in tone as well? and making the feet a different colour? gun metal grey maybe? but nice job so far!

hmmm... true... in defense, I would just like to say that the movie trailers and promos never attempted to portray the movie as being more than a terminator clone while the book was a series of short stories that looked at various ways people related to evolving individual sentient androids... it's not difficult to understand why fans of the book would be put off by the movie...

saw, it despite not wanting, was pleasantly surprised... actually incorporated a lot more of the book than I thought it would.

I'm wondering if the bit under the chest is the chest gun, just minus the barrells...?

yup... a mace. now I agree, cyclones are cooler than alphas... It took you that long to figure out? Nothing tops powered armor on the cool scale except transforming powered armor . meh.. depends on the power armour... if you were talking about the hardsuits and the bike link up then yeah.. those were very cool... cyclones were kinda cool... but really limited fire power and range... the alpha/beta link up was way more cool. but apparantly now the alphas run around with giant maces... makes them less cool IMO... I mean really, a mace? it's one step up from the piece of wood with a nail stuck in it.

I'm not surprised at all... my firend bought a nice DVD player from them and he did buy the warranty, the player was for his family and he wanted to ensure trouble free service from them. Well, after a few months the player broke down and so he took it over to best buy... the manager told him they couldn't replace the player until they had attempted to fix it, they kept it for two months before they told him that they weren't able to. At that point, best buy opted to send the player directly to the manufacturer which took an additional 3 months. Keep in mind, when these guys offer their extended warranty they make it sound like if anything goes wrong, you can bring back the item and they'll replace it on the spot for you. More recently, the same friend (why he keeps shopping there I'll never know) bought an xbox from the same store. The cashier asked if he wanted the extended warranty. He said no and and even explained that he wasn't satisfied with the service. She kept preasuring him, asking him all sorts of questions and offering several scenarios... he said no again and ignored the cashier... she actually stopped ringing up the sale to ask him again. At this point I stepped in and said that disapointment was something everyone has to learn in life and the sooner she learn it the better off everyone would be. The people behind us all said something to the effect of: that's right and she finished the transaction without comment. And these guys do get a cut on the warranty. The sales person gets a few bucks as do the managers. bonus off warranty sales can give them a pretty significant boost in pay and the stores are ranked on how much warranty they sell... they get special prizes based on their performance. I worked at the compusa flagship store in San Francisco back when I lived there and sales people are coached to flat out lie about what the warranty covers... they will often tell customers that the warranty will cover the screens (on PDA's) and even things like dropping items or sitting on them... in fact these events are not covered. The extended warranty only extends the manufacturer's warranty for however long. Also, the margin on most of the stuff these people sell are so low... the margin on warranty on the other hand is nearly 100%. that 30 or 40 bucks (or more depending on item) goes directly to profit... that's why they'll risk losing a sale of a couple hundred bucks for the extended warranty... they honestly only make maybe 10-15 dollars off of a 200 dollar sale... depending on the item... cables (USB and the like) are the exception, the margin on those items is like 65%. It's crazy how much the mark up is on them. -
for twenty bucks more you can get the 256 meg version, the ram is clocked slower but the extra ram should do you good. hmmm, makes me wanna upgrade, have a geforce 5200 right now... hmmm...hmmm...

no way.... in all of RT? cyclones weren't even the coolest in the next next generation.. or whatever it was they called it.... VF's were/are the coolest... and I'm waiting for a hardcore flight sim... well, doesn't even have to be hardcore but at least as realistic/detailed as the freespace or the x-wing games.

any mecha would be nice... I'm thinking variable gluag as well... that would be awesome... but I'd much rather see other VF's... my thing with enemy mecha is that they're just not that interesting.. those pods are just so straight forward and if yamato releases them at the same price point as the Q-rau, forget it. edit: changed any to enemy... which was what I meant to write but for some reason wrote any.
