I never noticed the non-symetricalness of vader's helmet until I watched that feature on the DVDs... now when I watch ep 4-6 I can't help but notice. damn them all.

are you talking about meisters rear seats? cause smokescreem doesnt have rear seats (except for mine hehe) I suppose I could have made that point more clear, but yes, I was referring to the rear seats in meister and not on smokescreen, since, as you pointed out, smokescreen does not have rear seats.

given the remarkable success of the A-10 as a tank buster... just how usefull are apaches anyways? I'm wondering if the attack helicopter is going the way of the dodo...

got my red meister today... I like it... I had a hard time with the feet at first, to get them to pose, but I think I got it figured out. I really liked the new shoulder/arm system from the smokescreen type.. this is much easier to tranform and I thought it was ingenious how takara used the rear seats as a locking mechanism for the lower legs.

Very sad about his passing. Even more than Star Wars, the first Superman movie with reeve was my all time favorite movie as a small child. I have many fond memories of running around in my superman costume, my cape fluttering behind me... jumping from bunk bed and humming the theme to myself. Even now, when I think about Superman, Christopher Reeve is the version I remember. More recently, his incredibly brave and public battle with spinal cord injury had me believing that this man, who made me believe that a man could fly, could walk again. RIP

It reminds me about one of the readings in my Environmental Ethics class I took over the summer - we got these celebrities on top of their limo's demanding that everyone else conserve! I think in general, people who listen to celebrities and rock stars for their politcal insights, should have their heads examined. another annoying celebrity trait... when they go and ask for money on behlaf of some charitable organization... they should be forced to donate their money before coming out to ask for our money... as it is, they usually get PAID to make an appearance. And yes, people who drive SUVs do contribute to high gas prices... why? well, considering they get half the mileage of a compact car, and lets see, like a 1/3 or 1/4th the mileage of an economy or hybrid. For every 1 SUV you see, thats three or four cars that could be fueled by what that monster is using. but hey, it's everyone's elses problem right?

I think I will be waiting till the price drops on this one.

Huh, the base mode is pretty cool.. and that pic is most impressive, almost makes me wanna get one. almost.

hopefully by the time we start harnessing anti-matter as an energy source, humanity has moved beyond thinking about how better to kill one another. anti-matter drives in starships, or as powerplants would be so immensely productive, at the same time lowering our reliance on fossile fuels and nuclear energy.

I'm thinking the head lasers can be bent into shape with some hot water to aid the re-shaping... but the odd wing shape... though, now I'm thinking with so many parts needed for swapping... they can't really call this thing a transforming toy.. they should have just released 3 seperate toys.

heh... there are quite a few star wars comics that poke fun at some of the obvious stuff in star wars... there's a great one where tarkin is selling the death star to the emperor... and the emperor asks about why the tractor beam controls are located in one spot... why the lack of guard rails... etc.

just got mine.. couldn't find a nice box.. most had been damaged in shipping.. though, by the time I got to fry's there were only a few widescreen editions left. watching disc four right now.. and the preview of ep 3 actually has me wanting to see the next one.. the fight scene between anakin and obi-wan... looks pretty good.

just saw innocence... and... oshii never tries to hide the CG.. it's just there. and it's used to great effect. and I'm sorry, but the camera angles, the panning shots, the character animation is simply top notch. I can see how traditional animation guys may say that Oshii's stuff doesn't measure up to wings or akira... level of detail, stuff like that... but... oshii, IMO, convey's WAY more emotion with light, camera angles and facial gestures... and in a much more realistic way than in Akira or Wings or whatever else. this movie totally blurs the line, in terms of cinematography, between animation and live action.
