why transforming valks in macross zero?
eugimon replied to goldenboy_forever's topic in Movies and TV Series
The way I figure it, the daedalus attack was something that came up as a work around solution to the whole not being able to fire the main cannon problem. the battle 7 on the other hand, was planned and built that way... . Of course, it could make sense tactically.. say in a fleet scenario with multiple Battle class ships... and multiple cannons, they could switch out for more rapid firing I guess... and having hands would mean that you wouldn't have to dock the battle and gun in order to fire, the gun could just get somewhere near where the battle needed it to be and then the battle could just reach out and grab hold. hmm... not silly if you think of it like that. -
yup, what graham said.

The Official Yamato VB-6 Monster Thread

Well, if all that went down was new management coming in and deciding to control the flow of info... i can see why Graham and others who were closely linked to yamato in the past would be upset... but I can't see how yamato is screwing me or other consumers. I have to say though... if this new management team is the one calling the shots on stuff like the 1/100 VF-0, the overpriced Q-rau, the disapearance of the yf-19, etc... then I'm not sure how much longer I'll be a loyal yamato fan.. my purchases have already become much more discretionary and really, there are plenty of other cool anime stuff for me to spend my money on.. from companies who don't think success means churning out second class products at premium prices. -
The Official Yamato VB-6 Monster Thread

Hi guys, Just remember that Yamato is in this for the money and business only. We are emotionally involved because we love Macross. For them, it's just cold, hard business. Factors that are driving them are much different than factors that drive us. They will have their own reason for breaking contact with us. Most probably, we're so small fry that they realised they can't spare their personnel's time on us. Not an insult really. Just business. Of course we'll feel hurt. But just keep a steady head on. Kamion that's true enough, yamato, like most businesses, is in business for making money... but, if they do something to piss consumers off, consumers do have the right to boycott their product. I think Graham should just come out and tell us what went down, and if yamato wants, they can respond in kind, and then those of who care, can decide if yamato is a company that we want to continue to do business with. If not, without information to go on, I'm going to contine to buy stuff from yamato whilst wondering how come they don't love us no more. -
are you sure? I thought that was the prime without trailer and that it did come on a card... ? could be mistaken.

I haven't spent nearly as much as some folk here on yamato toys.. but at quick glance, I've spent around a grand on various yamato products.. the bulk of which comes from their macross line.... anyways, if Graham has the dirty on yamato, which leaves him this pissed off, I'm interested in hearing what went down as well... that way, I can decide if I too want to vote with my wallet. -
it looks cool, it's not like seed spends any time explaining how phase shift armour works, and isn't there a few shots of strike looking all worn and scratched up anyways?

I would be very sad if they make the yf-19 smaller... if yamato is going to start making 1/100 their scale of choice... I dunno... I would have to think hard about giving them any more of my money. 1/100 is just so small... it would be around the regular transformer size and I don't know if I oculd bring myself to pay premium prices. -
Actually, the World Wrestling Federation sued the World Wildlife Fund, because their acronyms were the same. Too bad none of their lawyers knew how to look up the fact that the World Wildlife Fund had been in operation for years before the World Wrestling Federation came to be - and so the WWE lost and is now called the WWE... eh, kinda... WWF and wildlife folks had an agreement that said that WWF wrestling would keep it's image moderately clean in return for being able to use the name. After WWF bought out WCW, they went dirty in a big hurry so WWF wildlife sued to make WWF stop using the name.

using bittorrent to get licensed stuff is a really bad idea, bittorrent, unlike some other peer to peer service is not annonymous and is apparantly quite easy to track down a user's IP. on the other hand, when I worked with microsoft a few years back, one of their lawyers told me they don't even bother with the small fry because it's not worth the effort, they only care about the distributors... but since the riaa and motion picture guys have been filing lawsuits against dear old grandma lately... I dunno. could be risky.

well, the japanese soundtrack was done in stereo while the english version is spiffy 5.1, so there's bound to be some differences. but for anyone who thinks the english voice version of voices is better than the japanese version....
-
well, this is similar to why WWF had to change its name to WWE.. because the World Wildlife Fund that people would mistake the World Wrestling Federation for them and thus weaken their ability to save animals. it's all pretty bogus... I hope tony twist will sleep better knowing his name is secure and now several people may be unemployed.

amazing... crazy how many rounds it took to finally break the sword. -
Well, just from the movies, there can be more than 2 sith at a time.. certainly count douku was running around at the same time as darth maul, both under the emperor... I always thought the idea was that the sith's thirst for power would eventually lead them to kill one another off in an attempt to be the 1 student of the 1 master sith.

the original G1 toys only looked like real cars and had some differences, back then, IP wasn't protected as hotly as it is now. And I do believe ferrari and lamborgini have remained outside of big 3 control. anyways, why do you think jazz is no longer a porche? Edit: Por-SCHE! PORSCHE! No such car as a porche!!! -

meh, I like the cars that they are picking... a mix of different cars and price points, certainly that viper is nothing to sneeze at... and finally, I'm sure part of it depends on the manufacturer as well.
