  1. if this delay in the release means that yamato is revising and/or making a whole new design, I have no problem with waiting. I don't even mean a little part swapping, but the amount of stuff that needs swapping on the current design is ridiculous, it is almost two whole toys.
  2. Decided I would collect the EVAs.. but soon after I got my first (asuka's) I kinda burned out on all things evangelion.. nothing to do with the toy itself which is great.
  3. you'll find there's a lot of things yamato should have done/could have but chose instead to just do the easiest thing.
  4. that does blow... macross is kind of the star trek of the anime world... could have been so much bigger/better if it was handled better.
  5. those comparison pics are really helpful ewilen... for me personally, if there is a choice, get the 1/48 version. The 1/60's are great for the two seater valks and for the Q-rau. I actually sold my 1/60 VF-1s on ebay... even though it had some sentimental value as my first vf-1 toy it was just dead weight.. and after having my 1/48's for so long, I just began to dislike the thing for it's lack of posability and akwardness of transformation.
  6. wow, I knew part of the prequels was deconstructing darth vader and showing him for the sad old man, but turning him into a telemarketer is just too much. damn you lucas, you raped my childhood!
  7. I liked the other thread as well, it actually convinced me to dish out the money and get mac 7 on dvd so I could try watching it again.
  8. has anyone gotten galaxy convoy yet?
  9. uhm.. since copying a DVD would be a digital, bit to bit copy... it's not like there would be any size difference anyways... so knowing the size is completely meaningless in terms of determining if you got a bootleg or not.
  10. I'm in shock. and those are some sweet cabinets.
  11. I laughed so hard when I first saw this I couldn't breathe... I had to leave the room so I wouldn't die from laughing.
  12. hopefully they listened to all the negative feedback on their planned 1/100 VF-0 and they're going back to the drawing boards for something that fans will actually buy.... please please please please give us a 1/48 vf-0!!! I'll even settle for a 1/60 perfect transformation vf-0... but a 1/48 would be sweet.
  13. looks like ebay stores are selling him for around 135 bucks... who knows why individuals don't want to sell theirs.. maybe they like it and want to keep it
  14. it's not a question of the toy being too big, but rather compared to other figures in the line, namely the cars.. a 1/48 f-14 bot would tower over one of the cars.
  15. 1/48 is way too big for modern jets.. figure that a VF-1 is pretty small compared to an f-14 or f-15 and look how big that thing is already. if they want the bot mode to be in the same size range as the cars they're going to have to keep it somewhere between 1/72 and 1/60. maybe some off scale.
  16. dude, that is a nice custom...
  17. To be or not to be....that is the question... Alas poor Yorick, I knew him horatio...
  18. oooh, with light up visor!
  19. Nah.. In war, life is cheap. No kidding. How many friends do you think Roy lost in the last years of the war? By this point, whats one more? true but he had more emotion trying to save them. Would be ok he like grumbled "dam I didn't get to tap that in this movie get me a new director" I think it's kind of similar to how King David acted when he learned his son was dying... while the child was sick, he was greif stricken, but after the child died, he cleaned up, got dressed and ate some food saying that there was nothing he could do and that he had to move on. I'm sure Roy felt the same way, while there is hope you try with everything you have, but when you know the ooutcome, you gather yourself for the next fight.
  20. I really hope this goes through, I would love to see some modern jets turned into 'bots.
  21. How? By getting in the way of his firing zone...twice? And instead of just knocking the enemy off the other guy, he blows them up as his wingman barely gets out of the way. That may be good piloting, but that's reckless endangerment. When Max did his thing, his wingmen were not in his way. Max put the risk all on himself than to place it on himself and everyone around him. max hardly put all the risk on himself. when he's out there flying around, not every enemy combatant is going to be gunning for him. So while max is out there being a genius, his wingmen have to fend for themselves. So yes, waht isamu does is risky, he's at least covering his wingman.
  22. I find Max and isamu to be very similar... in the series, max is often shown by himself gunning things down and show boating.. in one ep (sorry, I don't these things memorized) hiakru cautions kanzaki not to wast ammunition and max retorts, "is it okay if it is not a waste?" and the goes on to blow some stuff up. It isn't until he and miria start flying together that you ever see him sticking with his wingman. At least isamu bothered to help his wingmates out.
