  1. maybe she should try singing. LISTEN TO MY SONG!!!
  2. AHAHAHAHAHAHA.
  3. Heh??? Dazzled by the animation in Mac+ but not the story??? Mac+ has one of the tightest stories in all of the various Macross spin offs.. stays true to the themes and philosophy of SDF without coming across as ridiculous and derivative... Mac2 couldn't decide if it was a parody of macross or a sequel... just about the only decent thing that came out of that tragedy was the music. I suppose the valk design as well, though personally I could go either way. Now Macross 7 on the other hand, pretty much deserves all the hate directed towards it...
  4. Hey, welcome aboard... Still love this movie as well.. some great animation all around, like the new music, and one of my all time favorite dogfights.. max versus miria... just so cool.
  5. my roy 1/48 vf-1s with fast packs... the toy I always wanted as a kid and now I own... mmmmmm... fast packs....
  6. yeah, I'm sure other groups will pick up the work.. it's just I like anbu and aone and the quality of work they do...
  7. those pics are very nice indeed... some great work there.. makes me wish yamato didn't leave the M0 license for dead....
  8. aone pulled it their side as well...
  9. well, anbu just pulled all their naruto torrents...
  10. yup.. no way am I buying a DVD for 25 bucks so I can watch 3 episodes. I'll be watching my fansubs, and if they crack down on those, I just won't watch, I'll just read the manga. but I refuse to give money to Viz.
  11. This would only work if the gave JMS complete control over the franchise... JMS has a habit of getting prima donna and leaving stuff hanging if he doesn't get what he wants. Which is what I would give him if I were paramount... dump berman and get JMS on board.

it's so pretty... come on yamato... make some more money off of me!
  13. Learn to READ! Right here the very first thing I wrote: Spoke of a modified EVA - even then made no mention, or even any intention, of baseing this assestment on the inner workings of the design. In short if you want a mecha to perform like a human, be able to navigate a wide variety of terrain, jump, climb, pick itself up unassisted from a fall, carry a variety of weapons ... well its going to have to be basied on a humans joint, mobility and weight bias structure... Votoms, Labors and Heavy Gear fail because the legs shift weight bias tword the feet...and togther with Gasaraki, they all overlook the drastic importance of our backbone and flexable shoulders...EVA takes most all of that into consideration, and thus if you scaled them way, WAY down and took off those fin things on thier shoulders you end up with a very plauseable design able to mimic most human motion and flexability. And if the human basied mecha can't run through an obstical course like soldiers do...includeing crawling around on its hands and knees, climbing rock walls, balanceing on beams, and picking itself up from a fall...then the mecha is far to specialized to be of much good especialy in combat ... it was a guy in a suit, held up with wires and support beam out the back...it was not real, wasn't even made of metal...and the design, speaking for itself, has lots of problems - number one is that it could not lift the cargo containers without some form of counter balance to offset the additional wieght placed on the design...additionaly it doesn't have the physical mobility in the legs to carry such loads... Well, technical, an EVA isn't even a mech.. it's a big electric powered human/angel hybrid with armor that gets its neural impulses from the pilot... so it is actually the LEAST plausible out of the mechs mentioned...
  14. yup, also the Gears in Heavy Gear as well.. and if you're wearing a big power suit... why would you have to move the limbs around based human strength? the whole idea is that the user directs the suit through his/her movements, the suit reads this and amplifies the action. I like the gears since they are small... I find the biggest draw back with most mech desings is how freaking huge they are... they just make huge noisy targets... smaller 10ft tall units could have a much easier time hiding and being transportated... it allows you to have way more units on the field with the same transport technology.
  15. The suits from heavy gear.
  16. The thing that gets me is how much DVDs cost... for the most part, these are movies that already made back their money and then some in the theaters... and yet for a few hundred thousand dollars worth of work, they charge so much for the discs. Reminds me of when CDs came out, and all the record companies swore up and down that the high price was just to mature the tech and that once that happend that CDs would be dirt cheap... well guess what, even though there was a class action lawsuit on this very matter, nothing changed. I suppose one could just say: if you don't like it, don't buy it... and this is pretty valid... but if you look at most protest movements, there was the majority faction that played by the rules, and then there were the agitators that frequently broke the rules. Without napster and the like, there never would have been itunes... and I think that eventually someone is going to figure out how to license divx and make it cheap and affordable.
  17. HG can't use Macross design for robotek without permission right? Didn't Big West say anything for this?. Thats probably the reason why they end up not using it on the final cover. It was never intended to be ont he cover as it was. I think that sketch was sent in as sample work by a hopeful artist... it was not inhouse work for production.... sides, that Yf-19 is a trace job.
  18. Why is that robot wearing a cloak?
  19. At what these toys are costing, I'd rather pay a bit more and get something that's better thought out and executed, than something that has to have a bunch of compromises to work.
  20. Good news and bad news for you... Good news: there is an English language version of DYRL, it's called Clash of the Bionoids (or some such). Bad news: It's almost completely unwatchable. Even if you've only seen Robotech, you should be able to follow along with DYRL just fine.. there are some differences... don't worry about it, just keep in mind that DYRL is a dramatization and some stuff has been changed... there characters are much closer to the originial SDF tv show, compared to Robotech... Have fun.
  21. Gotta love naruto... I skipped ahead with the manga, but I stopped reading it after the brief interlude.. now I'm just watching the anime and I'm eagerly awaiting the big sasuke/naruto fight. I can't wait to see what ends up happening after the time jump. I dig naruto's new threads.
  22. I have to say this is by far the best pic. Second'd. what they said.
  23. Please, it's well known that the buddah ripped off the matrix long before Ghost in the shell did!!!
  24. Make it a Gakken. Unless you think it'll scare the VFs... yeah... after buying one MPC alpha, I won't be making that mistake again.
