yup. all is right at VE, got my new copy of DYRL, to replace my old copy which has some serious pixelation issues.

the hikaru 1a and the roy 1s had front landing bay doors that were a bit difficult to open, the nose cones tended to easily fall off and the wing flaps were easy to knock off as well. The roy 1s had crooked jolly roger emblems on the tail fin. Also, the cockpit seat had a flat head rest while the newer 1/48's have a curved head rest. that about sums it up.

Wasn't there supposed to be some pages scripted but not animated where max as a giant tells the SDF of the situation and the impending attack by bodolza? Might be off on this, trying to write a paper on Hamlet at the same time.. hahah.

Yes... but all those versions are "teh suck" for various reasons.. we're all clamoring for a yf-19 done up 1/48 Vf-1a style... big with sexy perfect transformation goodness.. or at least minimal part swaping for that fron landing gear assembly. sigh.

hmmm.. I'm kinda meh on magnus... but I'll probably get him all the same... I would be more interested in a black repaint but I don't feel like waiting another year.

I dunno what I would do if there was no more macross toys... seeing some of the beautiful custom macross models out there.. I'm sure I would eventually give in and try to get my hands on one.. probably the only way I'll ever get to see an SV-51... sob sob.

I don't know what we could do more about it... pretty much anything macross related put out by Yamato has sold out... and in some instances, demand has been high enough to even have reissues... so it can't be that yamato isn't making money off of the fan base... It's either personal on yamato's part... they don't like macross, or they don't like macross fans so they're just leaving us. Or... someone high up doesn't like yamato anymore and is trying to get them to lose the license. I figure it's more likely that someone high up in the macross food chain has grown tired of yamato and their half assed ways and wants the license to go somewhere else... I find it unlikely that yamato would chose to abandon a cash cow like macross.. especially when they don't have other toys to come in and immediately fill in the product line. that garland won't come out anywhere near enough to fill in the gap left by the Macross Zero toys, not to mention the YF-19 fp and the monster.

I think part of it is that for most asian cultures, such big declarations of love and emotion is pretty much frowned updn. that hiakru chose to leave minmay behind would have been enough of a declaration for misa... having said that, I think even the creators of SDF Macross felt the same way.. since DYRL makes the choice much more clear and is again reinforced in flashback2012. I think also to an extent... it wasn't that hikaru didn't love minmay.. perhaps even loved her more, but that he realized that in chosing to love minmay, he couldn't be true to himself and his calling... that Misa was a better fit for him, someone with whome he would find a better long term relationship. Minmay is Hikaru's first love... Misa is a more mature and fullfilling kind of love.

yup, did the same to both arms on my vb-6... otherwise it was a floppy mess. just don't spend a lot of time pushing the polish around, one thin coat and let it dry...

At the end when most of the Macross is destroyed(except for the head) to me it says "That's all folks!" Seriously, that should be the final chapter, "Sayonara Love" baby! So are you saying the end of the story of the SDF Macross the ship then?

yup. isamu goes to earth to show humans are better than bots and then he and guld happily lay waste to a major metropolitan center... both of them being manipluated by the new edwards base commander who didn't want to see bots flying around either. I think general idea is that everyone was out at the concert/commemoration and no one actually got hurt...

I don't see why there would need to be a "definitive" ending to the macross story... it's not like gundam where you are dealing with a finite number of colonies and factions...
