  1. I agree.. if yamato comes out with a new LV variant, I'll be happy.. I'll be just as happy as when yamato released this current macross line and drove the prices of the chunky monkey down... if you want to "invest" in something, try gold. toys are for kids.
  2. Do you think this is probably due to the fact that the japs are the ones who wrote energon and armada that seemed to be marketed more to kids and Beast Wars was the last TF series written by the US? japs?
  3. I also voted for the qui/ben vs maul fight... my runner up would be the luke v vader fight of ROTJ... the emotion coming from that fight just amazing. The ben vs anakin fight was good as well.
  4. If you only knew the true power of the 1/48!!!
  5. try feathering the selection of your ship.. it has that cut out sicsors look... but it's looking good! I agree, second one looks the best.
  6. pretty messed up.
  7. well, if this drives down the cost of a mac to something reasonable.. it's certainly a good thing. gotta feel for IBM though.. they invented the PC and they're just slowly being pushed out of it... oh well.

    1/48 Yamatos

maybe.. but we probably won't feel anywhere near as bad as the guys that paid over a grand...
  9. what are you talking about?
  10. if you can't say something negative about robotech, feel free not to say anything at all.
  11. I love these guys. they're so proud that they just ripped off other people's work. and to go and boast that the original producers THANKED them for their hack job. unreal.
  12. Agreed! Still cant get over Shin and his...his...well him being gawd dam SHIN! I cant wait for the day he gets messed up good in his MS. at this point, I'm only watching this show in the hopes of Kira taking whiny boy shin apart.
  13. yeah... it's starting to look rather silly. ah well, I'm still getting one.. rather have it than not.
  14. not really a point, since we don't know about hikaru's kid(s)... and we don't know if roy had kids... or rather if roy's kids knew they were roy's kids. heh.
  15. heh? How did Tolkein "rewrite" someone elses work? he made his mythology.. his own languages.. created back stories... And what was Lucas reimaging? That he borrowed from westerns and samurai movies? Is that what you mean he didn't create star wars universe? if you're saying that in order to create something, the artist has to invent everything on his/her own.. in a vacuum, devoid of all other input... such a thing doesn't exsit... everything comes from something.
  16. I think this has been talked about to death.. 'sides.. wrong forum.
  17. Personally, I thought Hikaru was a better leader... he had better situational awareness and kept track of his pilots and overall mission goal. Max became fixated on the battle and would lose sight of the overall mission... fer instance.. In the mission where max and his squad was escorting Misa's shuttle.. max allowed himself to get caught up in the dog fights rather than stay with the shuttle and protect it. In the first battle of DYRL, it's hikaru that realizes the battle was a diversion. In Max's dog fight with Millia, he peels off to continue to pursue millia, leaving his wingman (Roy) unprotected... in DYRL. once again Max takes off leaving hikaru by himself.
  18. I used to love airwolf... snappy theme song too. the reboot was really quite awful
  19. Last I heard, Microsoft was looking to release Halo3 on the same day that the PS3 launches That's what MS hopes will happen...
  20. I think one of the problems with star wars is that there's so many different versions of star wars... the books have their own history, the comics have theirs, then there's the video games and somewhere in all there is what Lucas imagined... only.. even lucas has gone back and changed things and accepted bits and pieces from here and there. personally, I think star wars was a fun ride.. i enjoy the books and games and the movies.. welll.. I love empire strikes back.. but it is not the carefully thought out and robust universe that a lot of fans try to make it out to be. In many ways it is as scattered and self contradictory as star trek or any other piece of serialized fiction.
  21. I don't care what head they stick on.. another run of the low viz would be great..!
  22. damn.. everytime I think I'm done getting these things there's another one to get.
  23. Yes, it has been their land ever since their very militarily expansionistic faith conquered it. Yet. . . Words fail me. . . oh wait. . . no they don't. . . Let's sum up: Christianity tranforming the Roman Empire peacefully from within = "evil" Muslims conquering much of the Roman Empire by the sword = "good" Muslims conquering Jerusalem = "good" because it is somehow "their land" Christians trying to (re)conquer the same land = "evil" Wait, I think I can sum it up even better for you: Anything Western (or Christian) Society does = EVIL. Non-Western cultures engaging in the very same behavior = GOOD There. . . that's simple enough. B Yes, welcome to the wonderful world of liberal thinking.. where the one religion that teaches people to love one another and teaches equality is bad and evil.. and praises religions that say it's a good and holy thing to blow themselves up in restuarants... teach little kids to hate, keep slaves, fly airplanes into building, teaches that women are nearly sub human, says it's okay to lie and kill in the name of god... yup. this is western liberalism for you.
  24. Well, it really goes to what you believe the point of life on earth is about... if mortal life is important then that leads your path one way... if you think that all that is important is your immortal soul and that everyone dies anyways and that life is cheap... well, then you make different choices. bascially, I think we need to look at his choice through the eyes of a deeply religious medieval man and not through our eyes.
  25. Saw the movie last night.. and I thought it really good.. acting was great and as usual, Scott's directing and visuals were impressive and stunning while at the same time being incredibly expressive and moving. The idiotic move makes perfect sense with this character and his motivations.. this is a man who believed ferverently that this life here was not as important as his life to come.. and he was unwilling to sacrifice his soul and the soul of his wife. This was a man in search of redemption not political gain or glory.
