1. char helmet is pretty sweet... but the rx-78 one is just a garish mess.
2. sure. I can accept that. looks great as it is!
3. It's the lack of shoulders and arms that is throwing you off. 337636 no. that's not it. but thanks for the trying. her torso is too long. from the bottom of her crotch to her waist doesn't match up with her waist to her neck.
4. Hah, is that a disclaimer so the Yamato fanboys don't lynch ya? I personally haven't been too impressed with Yamato's work. The 1/48 is okay, but the best valk toy ever made is obviously Bandai's Hi-Compact model. 337729 blah blah blah, rohby's cusom joke machines are far superior.
5. just to throw my two cents into the ring.. I think it was shown pretty clearly that isamu was outflying guld even with the more traditional flight controls. pretty much in every scene, isamu was one upping guld. I think guld was able to take out the ghost because he could overide the physical limiters and crash the 21 into the ghost... this does not mean that guld was a better pilot than Isamu. the mission simply called for different role players and they each did their own part.... the two fought to a stand still in the city for how long? It was pretty clear that guld was trying his best to kill Isamu and Isamu was pulling his punches and never went for a killing move... now, max on the other hand, is a whole different level and given comparable fighters, would have wiped the floor with either of them or both of them together.
6. nice... kinda overdone for my taste but impressive all the same. some of the poses for those shots are quite nice.
7. hmm, I know this might come a little late in the game.. but her upper torso seems very small in proportion to her hips and pelivs in that last shot... maybe it's just the angle?
8. haha.. the limp wristed pose is hilarious. "Oh Hikaru, that color so doesn't go with your eyes!"
9. heh, very cool. thanks for posting this up
10. The deleted scenes are meh.. they're actually all in the original Gladiator SE release... this time they're mixed into the movie. Ridely Scott even says in the intro to this new set that this is not a directors cut... just an extended edition for those folks who want to see that stuff edited in... The extras are cool though and there's tons of content a'la Lord of Rings for those interested.
11. True enough, but if you have a problem with a Yamato product you have to contort yourself through all sorts of hoops to get it addressed. For most of us the difference is that, residing in the US, getting replacements from a Japanese toy company is an exercise in frustration the like of which is rarely encountered short of a trip to the DMV; at least Toynami tries to make amends. The problem I have with Toynami vs. Yamato, vis-a-vis QC, is that Toynami's approach seem to be what is referred to in the consumer product arena as a "post purchase complaint" mentality...as long as they make the sales quota, it makes the marketing department look good, no matter how many items are returned for refund, repair, or replacement, and how many disgruntled buyers will look elsewhere for a future purchase. In this regard, you see the disparate corporate cultures at work (American vs. Japanese): Toynami has sub-par engineering, inferior materials procurement, incompetent assembly, and horrendous quality control, but a fairly decent customer relations and service...reminds me of Detroit car makers in the '80s: send the buggy, misaligned, unreliable pieces of junk out the door and let the dealers deal with the customers. Yamato has competent engineering, good materials sourcing, good assembly, and decent QC (things do get by them occasionally), but they are very aloof in the customer response department. 337305 well, you need to take into account that their macross line isn't supposed to be sold in the US and that by supporting those lines they open themselves and their retailers up to possible legal action... and yet... they still send out replacement parts. Also, Yamato is not above making revisions in their toys to take care of known issues, while Toynami will not make such amends and prefers instead to just send out replacement parts...
12. hmmm, for me, the best customer service is when you never have to contact the company.
13. haha... my wallet was stolen at the movies tonight and this is the first thing that made me laugh out loud.
14. yeah, that thing is awesome but the locationfree unit costs around a grand for the 7" model and 1500 for the 12" screen...
15. this looks like it will be a giant heaping pile. the SFX on the monsters look a little too "made for tv"
16. meh.
17. wow... that orguss collection is most impressive. I wouldn't mind seeing those toys re-engineered with modern tech...
18. wow.... that would be fun to drive over to the rocket while dressed up in ray costume...
19. I didn't even notice this until you mentioned it. The one on the left leg of the CF I've got displayed wasn't seated into the hole properly. I just pushed it in with my fingernail and it's all good now. 333037 I just got mine from Twin Moon right now and both of the little circle caps were in at wonky angles.. pushed them in and they're fine now. The side panels on the head weren't glued in either, no big deal. Otherwise, gotta love the guy.. I like the shade of brown they used... and dark brown used for the intake covers and feet is a nice choice. Great job from Tam as usual on the shipping.
20. right on. I'm glad Sony is taking this stance with people who try to break the law with their PSP. stealing software hurts everyone, including law abiding consumers. 336066 What law is broken when someone creates thier own games for play on PSP. You know there were many legal uses for Hombrew. Sony is shooting themselves in the foot by hobbling us like this. 336070 right... how many people are using the loop holes to make their own games? please... the VAST majority of people are using it to copy and play games that they don't want to pay money for. how big of a market do you think that is? Worth giving tech support to everybody who wants to pull their PSP apart? Worth all the lost revenue from software piracy?

22. hmmm, this puts gundam fans uncomfortably into the lead... isn't there some rich macross fan who could up dressed up like minmay or something?
23. you know they are using smurfs as a street drug now. I know, I've done the research.
