  1. I'm not saying public executions is the right way to address this situation, but it is the first thing that comes to mind.
  2. Well, to be fair. In the books and comics, set post RotJ, Luke is pretty damn skilled and powerful. He crunches at-at's with the force, manipulates matter on a near atomic level, is pretty much unmatched when it comes to the lightsaber, and is easily able to learn new force powers from a variety of different sources. Even in the movies, when you consider that Luke starts studying the Force really late in life (for a jedi) and how he really only trains with yoda for a short time... it's pretty remarkable just how powerful he became. Especially when we watch ep 2 and 3 and see fully trained Jedi Knights being cut down left and right in situations that Luke in RotJ would have been able to handle pretty easily.
  3. I think they were already hinting at mr sinister and apocolypse in this movie. Shaw's fascination with evolution and unlocking powers fits neatly into their mythology.
  4. so don't buy it then. Some people like Halo, this game is probably for them.
  5. They didn't change the gameplay mechanics at all for the campaign mode. You're supposed to be able to switch, on the fly, between the HD remaster and the original engine at will, just to prove that they didn't change anything other than the graphics.
  6. Why? Fanboys have been raging for years how the first Halo game is the only good game out of the series. It's what people have been clamoring for. Besides, it's not like a half dozen other game franchises aren't also taking a double dip in the HD pond.
  7. you're getting ripped off if you're paying 250$ + shipping for this. The MSRP is 17000 yen, around 211 dollars but places like ami ami had their preorder up for 12320 yen or 150 bucks. It's still a lot of money but part of it is due to the weak dollar and strong yen but part of it is just where the collectible toy market is going in general. MP Transformers are hitting this price point and those are like to sell an order of magnitude more units than any Macross product.
  8. it depends on what's for sale. Uber weapons and gear, obviously that's not right. But I don't mind for cosmetic stuff or variants of standard gear, etc.
  9. I hope it is a microtransaction game. You pay 50 bucks and get to play for free. Pay for extra stuff that isn't essential to playing or completing the story component. I'm MUCH more cool with that model then paying a monthly subscription
  10. Not sure why you would say that. Where's the vf-0D or the reactive armor, or the full armor, or the spartan or the phalanx? Yamato has shown time and time again that they're perfectly willing to walk away from a line if it doesn't look profitable to them.
  11. yeah, I was using minority as a catch all but obviously the movies draws parallels between mutants and homosexuals. Beast even has his line, "They didn't ask, so I didn't tell"
  12. I think some people are upset about the scene were shaw talks about mutants being slaves and then the camera zooms in on the one black dude in the whole movie... Though, I would hardly call that being racist, more like that the movie tries to hard to make sure everyone gets that "mutant" is code for "minority"
  13. meh. Honestly, a new gimmicky controller is the last thing I want.
  14. Some of the early test shots made it look like the covers could come off but they were always on. The intake section is really shallow so the GERWALK joint is right there and the top of the intake section has the swivel joint screw for the LERX/hip attachment. The way that section is design, a clean looking intake just isn't possible.
  15. the black tips also left residue on plastic, painted or not.
  16. Intake covers don't come off
  17. Well, if the problem is that the silicone is unstable and reactive, then using a solvent on it isn't going to help and neither will just wiping it down. If the problem is that there's some sort of residue on it from the manufacturing, wiping it off should help. I use the new stands I and I haven't seen any of these problems myself, so I can't really claim any knowledge of what's going on. But solvent + silicone is a bad idea.
  18. Rubbing alcohol is a *recommended* solvent for silicone. I used a rag with alcohol on it to help keep things clean while recaulking around the house. And the effects aren't immediate, it takes a little while for it to start melting the silicone. Just google slicone + alcohol and you'll see dozens of links with people talking about using it to dissolve silicone. Great if it worked for you but I strongly recommend not using any sort of solvent to clean the silicone tips. A warm, damp cleaning rag is going to be the best bet for 99% of people out there wanting to clean their tips.
  19. solvents + silicone is not a good idea.
  20. the cameos are interesting because they've already said that other than a new villain, they won't be introducing new characters...
  21. I never said it was "hi-tech" or anything, just that's it's nice way to integrate a peripheral into the game.
  22. I gotta admit, I was pretty ambivalent about ME3 incorporating the Kinect but I'm liking how they chose to do it. http://kotaku.com/5808993/mass-effect-3-gets-more-tactical-and-conversational-with-kinect
  23. jeez, just answer the question. The series' protagonist is Basara, a loner who lives in a cabin outside of the main city on Macross 7, accompanied by his band, and the surrounding wildlife. Basara is a recluse, spending most of his time alone with his priceless collection of paintings which he inherited from his grandfather (the art was a gift for his grandmother), and serenading eagles with his equally priceless guitar. His only real friend and mentor is the older, Max Jenius) who raised Basara after his parents died. Basara's father and MAx flew in Space War I together. Earlier, Basara was a test pilot for the vf-19, an advanced valkyrie with sonic capabilities and a formidable arsenal. The vf-19 kai was built by the FIRM, a division of UN Spacy. The vf-19 kai was stolen by its twisted creator, Dr. Lang . MAx then asks Basara to go retrieve the vf-19. Basara does but decides to steal the vf-19 kai for himself and use it to start a rock band and achieve peace through music.
