  2. argh... I despise this about star wars, the jedi must face a new threat, a BIGGER death star ! a death star prototype! a weapon even more deadly than the death star! They must face the dark jedi! one of their pwn turns into a dark jedi! oooh, a new order of dark jedi! A dark jedi with a weapon more powerful than the weapon more powerful than the death star! the republic falls! the republic reborn! the republic falls again but comes back as a new new republic! The empreror is back! again! I agree, this series needs to be put to sleep until somebody can figure out a new story to tell.
  3. those boosters can be attached seperately but they're actually pretty different from the FP boosters.
  4. I'm on 12 myself and this is quite the homage to evangelion's last few episodes....
  5. hmmm, I actually like renton's VA... he sounds like a little nerdy kid to me... my point about the VA not having to sound like the original cast is this... in different languages and cultures different voices, tones and affects take on a certain personality but they don't necessarily transfer 100% to other cultures. For instance, anime females tend to have a very pitched and exaterated tone to indicate that they are cute... for western audiences that sort of hyper girlish voice can come have different conotations and bring up a different mental image than what was originally intended. I supremely despise this for HK martial arts films where either they hire asians with thick accents or they have white people who are putting on what they think is an asian accent... I find it humorous at best and usually it just pisses me off because the whole point of dubbing is to make something easily understood... but if I have to figure out the dialogue through some generic "asian" accent, what's the point? So while for me, it's cool when the US VA and the japanese VA match up, I don't really care at the end of the day if they do. They just need to sell the character, not try to emulate what the original VA sounds like.
  6. I'm with Radd on this... something good and interesting. not so much the philosophy this time.
  7. dubs in general are not my cup of tea, but this particular dub is not bad. I don't get the idea that the dub needs to sound like the original cast... it would be nice, but if a voice actor is good and they can fit the personality and character of who they're voicing, then who really cares?
  8. I did mine with the grey stickers, it looked pretty good but I'm not sure if the decals are more transparent.
  9. I dug beast machines, I thought it was pretty cool... they took the story and the characters farther in that run than most TF shows ever do and really explored cybertron myth lore. good stuff.
  10. !!! I wonder when Twin Moon will be shipping??? Can't wait! Woohoo!
  11. same here... the first episode was pretty fun and the idea of sky surfing robots scared me off at first and I' sorry now that it did...
  12. meh. while the stealth is slowly growing on me, the low viz 2 makes me extra happy since now I know I can safely afford the two VF-0's that I ordered.
  13. 1/48: 5 1/60: 1 1/72: 3 1/100: 1
  14. oooh, can't wait! Super excited for this thing.
  15. heh, anytime I get a new screen, new TV, new DVD player, I pop in my copy of DYRL.
  16. nice job! I also love the subtle weathering... for next time though... try to have the scorch marks correspond to the directions of the vents. For example, the vent on the chest has scorching all around it, but the vents are angled down and to the side a bit...
  17. what's the line from Ghost in the Shell... specialization leads to extinction... Sony needs to learn that locking consumers into a dead end propietary techcnology is only going to hurt them in the long run.
  18. uhm... every generation of fighter produced in the modern era has been a pretty huge and jump over the previous version. Compare the raptor to the f-15 or joint strike fighter to the harrier and f-16. There's some freaking huge leaps there... or the tomcat to the intruder. All had some pretty huge changes... and if you bring the F-117 into the mix then you have a fundamental shift in the way fighters are designed and flown. Given what we're doing now with technology, it's right silly to think that with access to alien tech that humans would still be plodding along with incremental design upgrades over nearly a century. The rapid tech upgrades in the standard Macross continuity makes far more sense.

    wow, that's an amazing job!
  20. The UMD movie playback doesn't require any compromises from the the PSP hardware.. I don't see what all the fuss is about concerning how the PSP is not focused on games... this is just content. I choose not to watch movies on my PSP, specifically because I think the prices are a joke.
  21. I would get them if they came bundled with DVDs for a few extra bucks... paying 20 dollars for one is just nuts though.
  22. As an aside... The bit about gundams and the new valks being similar is really hilarious. that's just stretching. If you're arguing the merits of your design/theory/whatever, simply saying the other guy sucks more does not mean you win. In the real world, if A=crap then B is not the winner be default. Both A and B can be crap at the same time, in fact, A might be even more crap than B but that does not mean B is still not crap. An example. Let's say you are being mugged, the mugger kindly asks you if you would like to have all your credit cards stolen, or all of your cash. You say credit cards because those you can cancel. Now, since you chose to have your credit cards stolen, does this make it a "good" alternative to having your cash stolen? No, it may make it a "better" alternative but it is not a good alternative. They both still suck. So yes, mac 7 valks with faces and boobs are the suck, the Vf-2ss is not cool by proxy, it needs to be cool all on its own.
  23. I can't say I'm a fan of the MacII valks, or any of the designs for that matter. This isn't out of some blind allegiance to the big floating head or becuase I'm some sort of "continuity" nut... heck, people can't agree on actual history, I see no reason why fiction should make sense. For me, it all boils down to this... pretty much everything in mac II smacks of that school yard game of "Oh yeah?" The VF-2ss doesn't do anything particularly interesting with the VF-1 design other than to try and make it more "cool." Which is fine, it's great even. Like at the end of Star Trek:Next Generation when you see the Enterprise D with the third nacell and the big ol gun on the bow, gee, that's COOL! But really... it's like they were looking at a drawing of the VF-1 and then they put up a big piece of paper and asked everyone to name cool things they liked. Oooh Oooh, nacells, let's add nacells! Bigger guns! More pointy bits! Which, again, is fine... it looks cool. It's just not my cup of tea, it just makes me miss the ol' Vf-1.
