  1. nice. now I have something to look forward to next month!
  2. your opinion would be wrong... Ghost in the Shell and Patlabor 2 are two of my all time favorite CDs.
  3. http://music.ign.com/articles/708/708910p1.html IGN just put Robotech's OST above Macross Plus' OST... go read, laugh and cry.
  4. yeah, that is a great little touch
  5. I think it could be cool. I have a 1/48 F-14 somewhere that I got to display along with my 1/48 Vf-1's but I never got around to it.
  6. keep in mind that when you read these forums you don't hear from the thousands of people who got perfect units.. you hear mostly from the statistically small portion of people who got a bad unit. I don't think there's any reason to be afraid of ordering one.
  7. Think of it this way. Ep 4-6 of star wars had luke as the main character but the Star Wars movies weren't about Luke, though he was a main character, they were about Anakin who in most of the movies was not the main character yet he remained the pivotal axis in which all the events and characters revolved around. X-men is the same way. Rogue and Magneto was the main plot of X-men 1, you saw it through Logan's eyes. X-2 was chuck and timmy and sure, a fair amount of Logan and dept H stuff but in neither of these movies was he important to the plot, you could have pulled him out and replaced him with any other number of characters and not affected the movie.
  8. wow, that's not cool. It sucks when "fans" don't respect the people who work to bring this stuff to us.
  9. save your money. after a while you'll look at that 1/60 VF-1 and think to yourself, "huh, that's half a 1/48 VF-1 right there..."
  10. so... magneto tracking down rogue, using her powers to turn the world's ruling elite into mutants... how's that about logan? And dept H, kidnapping chuck, using timmy the mutant to make chuck kill all the mutants... how's that about logan? You could just as easily say the first movie is about rogue coming to gripes with who she is and finding acceptance since you know, the movie opens with her and all the characters do what they do because of her. The second movie spread time around and had some major character arcs for several characters. The X-men movies are no more "about" Logan than STNG was "about" picard. In both these movies, logan is just there for the ride. He doesn't save the day, he's not the focal point of the story, he's just the most popular character. there's a difference between seeing the story through a character's eyes... which is what singer said about Logan, rather than the story being ABOUT a particular character.
  11. I wonder if there was originally a rubber gasket that was supposed to be added to some of those swivels... it just strikes me as odd that the elbows would have ratchets but the thighs and biceps would be loose.
  12. they pop out just like on the 1/48s. no difficulty.
  13. It looks to me like the pose is of equal quality to the xerox. 399129[/snapback] hopefully that's it. but the porportions look all wonky to me.
  14. Intro to DYRL... watch it, watch it now!
  15. now that I have my lovely prize, I can't wait until the other VF-0 variants come out. and the ghost pack... ah, the lovely ghost pack... the reason why I bought two 1/60s.
  16. there's two things that were key for me: 1. the arms need to be extended and locked into place properly... if this is done the holes in the arms should line up nicely with the pegs in the legs. 2. the legs need to aligned completely. Sometimes there can be a little twist left in the thigh swivel that you need to play with. The calf lock should click into place and be flush and the arms will then pop into place securely. hope that helps. course, FPs are another story altogether.
  17. hmmm, the toy looks not so good in the ultra crappy photocopy... sad.
  18. the hovertank one was amusing.
  19. huh? none of the stories have been about logan.. you see it through logan's perspective but they're not about him. Even in X2, the focus was on timmy the mutant and charles, logan and dept H was just background noise and barely explored.
  20. woops, double post. Nothing to read, move along, move along.
  21. since convoys are pretty much the only TF I collect now (except the MP line) I'd love if they do a good job on this guy. Almost seems like a mesh of original convoy and the current galaxy force (or whatever they're calling it) convoy.
  22. I have to say, the 1/48s do snap together more nicely than the 1/60... fighter mode especially. I find the leg/back pack locking to be somewhat flimsy compared to the 1/48 which feels very solid in that mode.
  23. Here's a shot in batroid patroling my desk at work:
  24. Here's a pick with the tanks popped off on one side. The body is fully painted and panel lined so my guess is for the eventual ghost pack add-on:
