I read an article on the 3d imax treatment this movie received.. I'm going to have to see that version as well... the sequence where superman saves the jet liner has got to be amazing in 3d.

I'd rather just get the newly designed one rather than wait for it to break...

Just got mine from Tam today... great packaging as usual. Everything came in the box, nothing broken and I even managed to transform him into bot mode: not sure if I'll transform him back though.. that was scary business there! BTW, the figure is worthless... cheap soft vinyl and the arms are just poor designed. Otherwise, I really dig him. Really decent posability and everything fits just right.

I'll be there... I loved superman as a kid, I wore out the tape in my old VHS copy.

meh, I don't feel bad at all. both of mine came fine, they pose well enough. the joints are not 1/48 tight, which would be cool if they were. and if these reissues do come out, I'll probably get one of them as well.

oooh, event horizon has got to be one of my all time favorite horror flicks... just well done all around. Solaris was pretty good, I thought, for all the bashing it received.

It is quickly becoming ridiculous how many times TNG retreads the same stories. I'm all for the next movie being a proper send off for the TNG crew but please, no more Data-centric stories. There's great potential between picard and riker for drama... one that the tv writers had been building up for years.. let's see a proper resolution to that story.

well, you know... the whole NOT FOR SALE part... would make it kind of different. just a little bit... you know.. since this project was apparantly done by fans, for themselves, because they're FANS... and not for their own profit. But other than that, I can see why you would confuse the two.

I don't think that is fair to say... there have been plenty of movies that did well recently with complex themes. If anything, most science fiction tends to boil complex issues down to very simple terms and convey such a singular view on what is moral and right... perhaps audiences are growing tired of being lectured to and would rather see complex moral issues portrayed with more care and finese?

just remembered I met bradbury when he gave a talk at some unitarian church in california... I was talking to him with a friend of mine when he started going off on this AMAZING new technology that he just discovered... the VCR. This was in 1994. the VCR.

Elitist implies that sci-fi fans think that the genre is somehow superior to all others... I think we're just looking for some quality, which pretty much applies to Hollywood in general right now. 409572[/snapback] well, I'm speaking of fans who think movies should be made, specifically to satisfy their needs. Serenity for example, fun movie. most fans were great, but many fans cried boohooo, joss sold them out. How DARE he kill off their favorite character, how come it was different from what they thought it would be? their just seems to be a snobish attitude regarding sci fi/fantasy with work that is so dense, so self referential that discourages most people from going and trying it out.

I would like to see a show or OVA featuring a UN SPACY black ops team, putting down hot spots in colonies... it would be a fun way to see more of the macross universe and feature some nice military action as well.

my package didn't come today, so I'm guessing tomorrow. I'm hoping it turns out okay. I've never had a problem before with a yamato toy..

meh, I think sci fi fans need to give up their elitist attitude when it comes to these flicks..

yeah... TMP is pretty much down the street from where I work. thinking about returning it already just based on this page.
