1. I know, please re-read 1st post. 417740 ghostryder's problem with valks on mars is pretty much spot on... the atmosphere is way thin and a valks wings are have insufficient surface area to achieve lift. IMO, they would be restricted to gerwalk and battroid more moving around.
2. I find a valk in water slightly more believable than a valk on Mars... wings work under water (eg hydrofoil), and now you have buoyancy to help. 417712 but there's pressure to take into consideration. and every hatch/panel etc would have to be watertight to keep from being flooded/electrical shorts.
3. Then I guess what keeps it "in the air" is suspension of disbelief... which is the same thing that lets them transform into robots. My real question is if the Zentradi plant "gravity mines" that are so powerful they hold the Macross down, wouldn't those same mines immobilize the smaller defese units as well as the Valkyries? 417671 not necessarily, gravity is a two way street, the oppsing object needs to have sufficient mass as well for stuff to start happening... real world example, the moon and tides. The moon has enough of a gravitational pull to cause high tides on the world and to possibly even affect plate tectonics... yet humans and smaller objects don't get pulled up into space. We simply don't have enough mass where the pull of the moon is going to affect us. So the gravity mines would work better on larger/denser objects since there's more energy locked up there.
4. I still doubt it... that mock up has purple insignias when the description said it would be grey. But if that IS the official color... I will be cancelling my pre-order. Not because it isn't cartoon faithful.. which isn't a deal breaker for me... but just because that paint job sucks massive man-faye ass.
5. very rarely am I this ashamed of my interest in comics and superheroes.
6. seriously. I want to see some new pics!
7. there is... you would have to vacuum form the pieces instead of injection molding them. It's probably not worthwhile financially though.
8. well, all the bits about the merits of HD aside, you would definitely see an advantage to having more colors. It isn't just an issue of how many colors you see at one time, but about subtlty and blending of different colors. For instance, in human skin, it's very easy to portray it all as one flat color... like tan, or peach or brown, whatever. however, human skin is not monochrome and it actually has translucent areas where blues, greens, reds, etc show through. Having more bits to play with allows the TV/monitor to be better equiped to portray all that subtlty and make a more believable and life like image. That's why you want more colors.
9. meh, the seam doesn't really bug me. I don't notice it unless I'm looking for it. Though, it would be nice if yamato would stop with seam nonsense and just design their toys to eliminate it in problem areas. Like... oh, down the middle of the 1s head...
10. oooh, gotta get soundwave He was my first transformer and I just loved those tape-bots,
11. 41 is out at nanashi.
12. yup... looks like it to me as well. and yes, DAAMN, indeed.
13. yeah, very nice! Let's see some higher quality pics of those customs!
14. quality does vary from valk to valk... but I wouldn't characterize it as "sucks azz."
15. The kids, or the valks? 417012 HAR HAR! I've seen some cool kid-sized stuff at IKEA.... 417105 it depends on which I like more in two years. We'll see. seriously though... why do you think I started moving my valks to work?
16. heh. my immediate concern was for your macross collection as well... the fact that they were waving around swords at each other was really secondary... hey, hey, hey, easy there, you might get blood on my valkyrie!
17. ooooh, sounds and phrases!
18. yup, I gotta agree with you guys... on top of being beautifully animated and directed, P2 has a rich story and great characterizations. It truly is a top notch movie... not just an animated movie but as good of a political thriller as any live action work.

My Collection

looks like doll... err... pre-painted, posable figurine.... stands to me.
20. Can we have some "how to" picks then? It's such a sweet looking mod.
21. Very nice... looks great, but I can't help but wonder... are there really that many forests in space?
22. wow... that's a great looking mod. The new thrusters really raise the level of realism and add some great detail!
23. Well, Japan is Japan and everywhere else is everywhere else. Just because something is "bloody disgusting" or unacceptable to you or your culture doesn't make it wrong in general. Takara isn't making these for the American market, they're making them for the Japanese market, which is a lot more used to and tolerant of that brand of entertainment. I guess I'm not going to pretend to understand a mindset that I'm culturally separated from, so I can't really be offended by the "Kiss" characters. Basically all I really see and care about is a Transformer that I want to add to my collection. Anything beyond that is personal politics. 416584 While I don't agree with your philosophy, I do agree that ploitics and moralism has little to do with transformers or this thread. Let's leave the politcal manifestos out of this.
