  1. wasn't shin's helmet was red with yellow bolts?
  2. it's also annoying this thread continually getting spammed with: MP SS sucks because it isn't hyper realistic to what an F-15 colors are supposed to be// why couldn't they make it anime accurate//shoji sucks! every other post. There are legit reasons why the changes were made: better porportions, hides gaps, better posability... not just because kawamori commanded takra to make arbitrary and expensive changes based on his personal ego. To some of us, those reasons are pretty damn good... and the sacrifices that come as a result, livable or even - gasp- pleasing. We don't need the constant lectures on conformal fuel tanks, the off color or for frak sakes, the stupid tail booms. The toy is out people.. all this whining isnt going to change the fact that its out. I suggest starting a petition and get it to takara, maybe they'll listen and produce the version you want.
  3. your colored pic aside, the new design still has better porportions along the torso and legs. Wings that flare out from the shoulders, as portrayed in the cartoon and features better posability in the legs. In fighter mode it looks cleaner from the side hiding the gaps caused by the arm folds and from the bottom, provides a much more uniform look.
  4. kinda, in that it revolves around a bunch of everday types who discover powers and there seems to be some reason that the powers that be gave them powers... but differs from rising stars in that, for the most part, they're all adults when they discover their powers, there's a limited number of them, and their powers tend to be very specific, and not the sort of throwing energy and being superficialy superhero like. The show is starting off kinda slow but there's some cool potential and the cast seems pretty solid.
  5. nice pics, it clearly shows why the conformal tanks were added: to hide all the arm kibble in fighter mode. And did anyone notice the two giant spikes that hang off the wings in bot mode? They look like that would severly limit leg posability the way they're configured.
  6. other than the low sitting wings, the block of a chest, the short stubby calves, the ridiculous way the feet pop out and all the fins hanging off of the ankles.
  7. don't worry about it, the boys here love to complain that things received the gundam treatment, you should go back and read what they had to say about the MPC convoy toy when it came out... however, those designs do suck. I don't understand the design philosophy that says futuristic = angular miss-mash.
  8. looks good! very clean and crisp.. I think your color choices compliments then strike very well.
  9. boo, I thought you had a "source." haha. oh well.
  10. if yamato redid either the 1/60 line or the 1/48 with those improvements, I would be game to re-buy some of my valks. the wing flaps I think are cool, but I can live with out them.. but ditch the removable nose cone for certain. pretty pointless gimmick.
  11. how do you know what the budget was?
  12. email from tam says my 0a should arriving late october... stupid boats.. all slow.
  13. david, out of curiosity, which other pilot names are romanized incorrectly? I use 3rd party stickers so i didn't really bother to check yamato's stickers since they already suck.
  14. same here. If you do this, the hands flip out easily enough without the use of tools.
  15. I gotta agree with you on this one. tampo print the hell out of it, less little bits to keep track of.
  16. I would expect radio controlled lions for that prcie...
  17. you also didn't bother to actually answer my question on how making the thing look like the line art is a cheesy gimmick.
  18. how is making the toy look like the line art "cheesy" or "cute?" sure, I guess it's more cheesy then light up eyes, or legs that are held in place with magnets, or big big metal swing bars, or missiles that fire out of the gun pod, but I think cheesy might be pushing it.
  19. huh. interesting. I wonder if something that small would have enough energy to hold something in place.
  20. can you have a slice of rare earth magnet thin enough to hide in the wing?
  21. I thought about it.. I don't know that it would work though. you would need metal strips in the wings, oriented in the direction you wanted the pylons to face... but they would need to be dense enough for the magnets in the pylons to hold on to.. otherwise they would knock off easily
  22. yes... meant to be a joke, that's why the laughter at the bottom of the post. I figure it could work, but you would need the wings to be thicker to accomodate the metal strips for the magnets to attach to.
  23. my wild speculation, based on absolutely nothing: the yf-19 will use magnetic hardpoints, hidden in the wings, so that the YF-19 will come with missile racks, but no blister to mar the underside of the wing... muahha
  24. I think people are confusing 2nd shipment with 2nd run. Even with the 1st run, it's a mixed bag in terms of joint quality.
