  1. yeah, but the voice actor for the pilot had a strong aussie accent
  2. haha, I only remember it for aussie-wolverine
  3. on the stickers - it's not just a matter or thickness or stickiness (yamato stickers are very sticky) but the resolution of the printing... on the yamato stickers, often the actual words and borders are blurry, on third party stickers, these are very crisp and easily read-able.
  4. yeah, it looked that way to me as well, just wanted confirmation. imo, the SHE kit is no way the definitive yf-19... the 1/60 looks like it'll blow it out of the water in nearly every way.
  5. is the SHE yf-19 pic posted a different version than the 1/100 scale graham compared the 1/72 yamato yf-19 to?
  6. OMG, I agree with jenius on yet another thing...!

!!! No no, chow is on to something: apple = overpriced / yamato = overpriced apple = endless color variants of same few products / yamato = endless variants of VF-1 apple = minor upgrades per release / yamato = minor fixes per re-release apple = easily scratched surfaces / yamato = easily broken hinges maybe steve jobs acutally owns yamato!
  8. looks like nanashi should be releasing their subs pretty soon.. only one episode is being tweaked from typesetting and translation according to their forums. woohoo!
  9. thats \a nice collection you got there.. and the cabinet just rocks! lets see the rest of your collection.
  10. I'm reminded of the scene in Lord of War where you see warehouses full of M-16s left after the US leaves... the guns weren't worth enough to transport them back, cheaper just to build new ones.

the sturmvogel was the nazi me-262 a2, a variant of the first jet fighter.
  12. the VF-0 series just rules. other than the features mentioned by haterist, it also has recessed arms that don't hang down in fighter mode, the canopy has less distortion and the the swing bar lock in the nose is so much easier to use than the two swing plugs on the 1/48. and with the collapsing trunk, the legs look longer and more porporioned in battroid mode. now if yamato could only get the feet to lock in place in battroid mode...
  13. hmmm... but ohno is credited with designing the bulk of the realistic diaclones and specifically starscream.
  14. yup. kawamori did the original diaclone line, but the stuff that looks like real world vehicles was done by this guy: Ohno Koujin, including the original starscream with the blue boxing glove hands.
  15. I'll get the resissue on soundwave and pass on this version.
  16. wow, that ending was crazy. I'm really starting to like this series.
  17. feh, it probably has a swing bar.
  18. what if it was a macross *branded* washing machine with a un spacy kite on the front hatch? ooooooh...
  19. mine (rip off of family guy): wow, this sucks more than that time I filled in as KITT on knightrider...
  20. I think it's fair to rag on yamato or any other company when they release schlock... but you have to admit, we have people here who take "critcism" to a whole new level...
  21. yeah, eva draws liberally from christian, jewish and mesopotamian mythology... a lot of which you won't find in canon texts.. a lot of this stuff is gnostic stuff. such as lilith and her relationship to eve (eva)...
  22. well, one non silly explanation is that gourds can symbolize long life or the body in japanese mythology, so a pumpkin scissor might be taken to mean somthing that kills or cuts life. though, this doesn't make sense in terms of a relief or humanitarian mission though... who knows.
  23. There's helpful criticism, and then there's sitting around looking for things to complain about. It seems like now-a-days, finding new and obscure things to complain about, is some sort of macrossworld passtime... and then, after pointing out the flaw/line art divergence, comes the barrage of photoshop barrage... when honestly, without actually HAVING the toy and seeing how it's made and how different parts actually interact with each other, it just isn't possible to say with certainty how their proposed changes would affect the overall look and design of the toy. This isn't to say that what yamato does is 100% all the time... they do take shortcuts which I don't understand... particularly the way they design their joints... plastic on plastic joints on 150$ toy is just being cheap and short sighted.. their thick stickers do suck and their production tolerances are pretty horrible. But the endless cheap shots, the endless nitpicks... the endless parroting of other people's experiences... it's just old and tired.
  24. david doesn't have to like the sculpt, the toy, the color, the twin gun conformal fuel tanks... but this non stop spamming of this thread with page long essays on why he doesn't like it... and the little quips and barbs, it's all just trolling at this point. Plenty of people like the new sculpt for legit reasons and many people think the new sculpt is more anime accurate in it's own right... since we can all agree 100% anime accuracy on the seeker bots is impossible without leaving bits off in bot mode. just give it a rest, not every page of this thread needs to be taken over with the griping about the fuel tanks and color. AT LEAST, complain about some new detail and nit pick that to death.
  25. ooh, so purdy! does this mean we should be expecting new wallpapers soon?
