The 1/48's are a JOY to transform compared to binaltechs and the MPs, imo. Things move in 1 direction and there are relatively few steps. I find the arms on many of the binaltechs as well as the torso folding of MP convoy and SS to be just a pain.

other than a head swap and loading standard fastpacks and a gun, how is a VT-1 incapable of fighting? maybe in the macross world it makes more sense to have fighters do nothing but train? Later on, pilots train in single seat VFs, but early on, they go tandem. I don't see why this is so hostile to your perceptions.

kinda related to your question on DVD/HD-DVD discs... companies have a DSP that reads both blue ray and HD-DVD, apparantly the hold up is on an optical lens that can do both now. So it's just a matter of time till we see dual read HD-DVD/blueray players which is good news for all, imo.

And you're missing my point entirely, to build a trainer for a valkyrie, you would have to build a whole new bird that transforms. So this new dedicated trainer would be just as expensive as building a valkyrie. Only now, you have to dedicate new factories, train your mechanics to work on two birds, have duplicate but unique support equipment, etc. what's more expensive? And also, who said that the 1d didn't have it's fundamental capabilities intact? does it fly? yes. does it transform? yes. Does it have hands to pick things up with? yes Does a gunpod have a hand grip to be picked up with? yes. So what's your issue?
