if you're going to gamble, get the 0a or the shin, but definitely skip the 0s until the fixed reissue.
  2. no, it's the motoslave.
  3. yeah, I'm wondering myself. the wire could be that prime is supposed to have sort of light up effect or other electronic gimmick and the wire is there just to show the effect in the resin sculpt. As for meg's alt mode.. I dont know. Maybe his legs actually stow away proper but they did that to support the wings for the resin? maybe? Considering how tight prime's cab mode looks, I have hope that meg's alt mode will look better than what we're looking at right now. actually, looking closer at the bot version of prime, you can see a big electronic box behind him, so I'm fairly certain the wire is a temporary for demo purposes thing.
  4. hmmm.. minor boo for me. The kneepads and feet on the stumpy prime look more correct but the stand alone prime looks better over all, imo. I hope they also decide not to go for the cheap molded plastic tires and give us some nice rubber ones. oh well, I'm still getting the stand alone prime.. he just looks bad ass.

    hmm? joke?
  6. meh. my 1/48s are fine. fine despite falling off of desks and monitors in full fast pack splendor. They've also survived handling by people who had no idea how to transform them. I agree that yamato's are hit or miss and lately, more miss than hit but the 1/48 has proven itself in terms of quality and durability, imo. just for comparison, my MP Convoy has more problems than my 1/48s
  7. in the case of the garland, it's probably the opposite ratio... 9 out of 10 got bum shoulders. yes yes, I admit it, the garland is a POS. sob sob.
  8. mine haven't broken... yet. but that didn't stop me from asking yamato to send me new shoulders.
  9. ah! In that case, a good plastic is all that's needed. you hear me yamato? a GOOD plastic.
  10. depends on how long and thick the part is. If it's just one rod that slide out, I think a high quality plastic would actually be better since it would be lighter (less stress on the housing) and more flexible. But if it's a collapsing tube of some sort (like an umbrella) it would need to be made out of a better grade metal than diecast, imo.
  11. I'm also really hoping they can do this.. but I'm also terrified of how fragile that gimmick would be.
  12. movie prime is pretty nice looking. i wonder if one of the two shown is the 90 dollar version? And cab mode just looks drool worthy. and megs, well, for a transformer... uhm... WTF? but just as a design, it looks pretty badass.
  13. only issue I've had with my yammies are my VF-0s and their busted shoulders my garland might have bum shoulders but I'm afraid to look.

    Custom VF-0S Enigma

Beautiful work! Here's hoping that yamato will give us an enigma scheme release,
  15. FYI, sharpie is purple and shiny on plastic and will stand out when applied to plastic. Probably one of those gunam paint markers would work better.

I posted 4 pics of my 2 busted VF-0s on page 6 graham
  17. agreed on all counts.
  18. not really, rabid was complaining that yamato didn't stick to one scale. that's a pretty broad comment. I'm sure if yamato released ALL of the enemy mecha tomorrow in 1/55 scale, he would be complaining it wasn't in scale, never mind it was a complete release.
  19. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the 1/48's shouldn't get a 2 seater release. If they come out, I'll buy one. my only points are: 1. the 1/60s have far more canon releases than the 1/48 (equal releases if we're going to keep it limited to the VF-1 series) 2. that other toy companies switch scales without completing the line up in any particular scale. On that note, the vehicles in star wars are not in scale either. They're made to fit the figures but they aren't in scale to each other or to the figures. millenium falcon, ATAT, Xwing, none of these are in scale nor are they in scale with each other nor are they in scale with the figures. And I didn't take the "ugh" personally
  20. I was responding to rabids claim that other toy companies don't switch scales. In fact, hasbro groups toys based on scale and complexity and each grouping does not get a full line up.
  21. canon releases unique to 1/60 1d 1e 1t Q-Rau milia Q-Rau Max milia figure set VF-0s VF-0a VF-0a Shin type Ghost YF-19 fastpack canon releases unique to 1/48 (non canon releases in parantheses) 1s hikaru 1a kakizaki 1a angel birds (low viz) (stealth) (camo) (stealth FP) (GBP jungle camo) (GBP urban camo) I can count, can you?
  22. hmm, I guess if I read between the lines I would have picked that up. But, he's still wrong, the 1/60 line up got everything. Fast packs, strike pack, GBP armor, all the 2 seaters and all the new releases are coming out in 1/60.
  23. hmm? 1/60 VF-1 got a hikaru, max and milia super valkyrie releases. The 1/60 scale has been the most comprehensive and complete scale. And only the yf-19 never got a fast pack, the yf-21 and vf-11 both got fast pack releases. If you want to gripe about a scale that got no love, it's the 1/100 scale. the VF-0 got cancelled and only the Konig is around. Poor konig. BTW. Hasbro DOES play around with sizes. Prime and Starscream got the jumbo size treatment while the rest of the cast crew stayed in scale.
  24. I dig the digital camo.
