  1. wow.. great work
  2. no, you're right. Any good, hard resin would work in this case. I just like machined aluminum parts
  3. wife will be happy... she was wondering when I was going to stip buying toys. Looks like yamato is going to make her wish come true.
  4. ouch... that sucks. Anyone on this site have access to one of those big aluminum cutting machines that could machine us some replacement parts?

I don't care what the reason is the shoulders are cracking and breaking. What I want to know is what yamato is going to do about it.

    Graham's Sig

That and using a plastic that won't go brittle in a month.

    Graham's Sig

I'm going to be the party pooper... if it's the VF-0D, I'm not even going to bother reading about it until I hear graham say they fixed the shoulder issuer.
  8. hmmm, looks pretty close, though the wings seem broader and shorter than the line art. and the intakes do seem to stand out some.

    woot, thanks for the update!
  10. that matching pair is sweet.
  11. the support piece doesn't even fit in my CF. the slightest tension and it pops right out.
  12. my CF is the same way. in general, I think the problem is yamato doesn't properly clean/maintain their molds. I was noticing the build quality between my 1st issue hikaru 1a and the later releases... the 1a was just built better. Seam lines were less apparant and everything matched up better and fit together very tightly. On many of the later valks, there's a certain amount of play and there's seam lines here and there... the knee caps are very apparant.
  13. you know... if this yf-19 fuselage breaking business becomes as bad as the VF-0 shoulder business... I'm not buying any more yamatos until they yamato-usa starts supporting them. I'm not forking over this much money to enjoy a toy for 2 months before parts start breaking. There's plenty of other things I can spend my money on then expensive transforming toys that I can't transform because some critical stress bearing joint was given the el cheapo treatment.
  14. I think I have the stress mark as well. I'll try taking the screw out one of these days to see if it's as bad as some of the yf-19s we've been seeing. I've transformed mine more than a few times without any issue and mine is certainly not as tough as DH's.
  15. ew... the short nose is nasty looking.
  16. heh, I forgot how nice the animation was for that sequence.
  17. I agree with you... the reason I'm so mad at yamato about the VF-0 shoulders is because I love the VF-0 toy. I love the VF-0 design and I think the 1/60 is a great representation of it. I WANT to show it, and display and play with it... but the way it is now, I have it in the box, in my clost gathering dust until NB4M can get us those re-engineered shoulders. it should NOT be this way. BTW, my SS came with a bent tail spike and it has a bunch of stressed joints after being transformed 2 times... my reaction, meh.
  18. true enough. Good luck to those lucky few, I say. But really Graham, we need an honest fix from yamato and we need to see them do right to those of us who bought the 1st releases in good faith.
  19. yuppers. the joint where the wing connects the body just scares me to no end... The shoulders and feet.. not so much, the YF-19 has some pretty intense joints in the arms that seem to be holding up so I have faith. But the nose cone folding back like that is worriesome to me.. I'm thinking back to the konig and how that nose cone piece didn't lock back at all... the SV-1 hopefuly has a physical lock of some sort to keep that nose cone locked back there, since I have no faith in yamato's ability to make a hinge that locks of it's own accord...
  20. What BoB said... but uhm, less angry.
  21. go home already!
  22. Graham, in regards to your comment about the VF-0 shoulders... when it comes fresh from the factory with stress marks... or sustains stress marks after the first transformation, telling us to sand down the ball joint on an already loose joint is fraking ridiculous.
  23. it's glorious.. but that wing to body joint just gives me nightmares. So many small little joints that will need to be nice and tight and stay that way.
  24. I wish titanium was cheaper... the fuselage and the VF-0's arms could really use some.
  25. true. you did give props to yamato on their use of expensive tape.
