  1. nathan fillion = kiss of death ?
  2. ooh, it looks good.
  3. I used to have mine displayed and stickered up. But recently, I have most packed away neatly in a plastic tote bin and have a few out on display on my bookshelves. I have a 1 year old at home, so probably those are going to start coming down as well. Oh well, we're planning on moving next year to a place with more rooms, so we'll convert one into a study/den/refuge from rampaging baby and maybe I'll have a chance to break them out of storage then.
  4. bah, I have soc evas (well, had) and they all had chipping. Heck, the booklet that comes with the asuka's eva shows a unit with chipped paint. let's not make up stories here.
  5. yes, compared to a nano, or even some of the larger flash players like a clix, its clunky. And yeah, I remember walkmans, what was that, 15 years ago?
  6. yeah, it's a an expensive gimmick. I don't think I'll be trading in my nano for soundwave anytime soon.
  7. It's a neat gimmick, but too bulky for me to consider as an MP3 player and not impressive enough as a toy to warrant the high price tag.
  8. I'm really digging those new designs!
  9. I hope they move away from dragging out existing characters as well. too much baggage with previous characters, imo.
  10. yeah yeah, it's a fun little game. or at least the first version was. It doesn't look like nintendo is interested in really growing the basic gameplay though.
  11. It's all anime magic. The lengths of the arms on the yf-19 shrink and extend depending on what crazy pose isamu was putting it in. so I'm sure in gerwalk mode, if and when the time came, the go-go gadget arms will extend to the appropriate length in order to accommodate the magazine swap.
  12. naruto isn't geared for little kids you know, there's some righteous heinous violence in naruto.
  13. that's what was distinctive about the curve.
  14. hm, chalk it up to childhood memories then.
  15. agreed. when people talk about the good'ol days of die cast, I remember g1 convoy and how easily the legs snapped off at the thighs because of the weight of the lower legs.
  16. They always have valks taking on capital ships. it's staple of macross.
  17. haha, if lucas can do it, why can't gainax?
  18. There's talk of a fixed version of the 0s and the 0a but nothing confirmed. We'll probably see it eventually. like in a year or two. Though, Graham has said that yamato will be releasing replacement arms made of stronger plastic (pom) but so far there's been no official confirmation.
  19. not historically accurate enough for you?
  20. heh, I thought it was a lot of fun. The cheesey samurai mech at the end was awesome.
  21. I wouldn't worry about compatability issues. Yamato hasn't had an accessory compatability issue since the 1/60 VF-1. Every 1/48 has been fully compatible with all the various accessories and I can't imagine the new 1/60 line up will be any different. BTW, you probably want to stay away from the ver 1.0 of the VF-0s and VF-0a, see my avatar pic for the reason why.
  22. the SV-51 is a risky bet, since we don't know anything about it. The VF-0 booster and the YF-19 are pretty safe bets, imo. According to Graham, the shin type VF-0 will have the new POM arms which should make it a much more durable toy. and from most accounts, the YF-19 has been pretty good. No huge problems, though some members here have had really bad luck with theirs.
  23. yeah, I can just see people forcing the wing joints without disengaging the locks and tearing chunks out of the wing. of course, they'll then blame yamato for a poor design.
  24. NICE, thanks for the link. I'm thrilled to see all the metal for those supports and links.
