  1. all the way back to 1997? criticizing a product before it comes out is par for course here. BTW, blizzard games have never been about the flaashiest graphics, nor even about revolutionary gameplay. They have always made evolutionary improvements to a genre... so really, I don't see why people are expecting them to suddenly produce some kind of groundbreaking game with SC 2.
  2. what's to reinvent? it's an RTS. And the original game was a 2D sprite based game, so the fancy shmancy 3D engine is more than just a shiny upgrade.
  3. nice. hopefully my laptop can play it... or I have to start building a gaming rig... which I don't think my wife is going to go for.
  4. That is a sexy pose
  5. more than nice, i'd say.
  6. well, hopefully graham will be able to find out for us.
  7. FYI, even the takatoy stickers will lose their adhesive properties after a while.
  8. true... as long as it's POM and not yamato's brittle-tastic ABS, i think it will be okay. I'm more concerned that the joint is basically a friction joint. Pretty soon, it will be pretty floppy. Unless there's some hidden locking mechanism that actually locks that wing assembly in place in gerwalk.
  9. I'm not too concerned, looking at this link: http://www.yamato-toys.com/dev/cont_009/index.html it looks like that joint will be metal.
  10. that's not an update. that's an evil taunt. EVIL!
  11. who knows, but you can't make that guess with the pick from danny's site... that ghost pack was using's shin's fuel blisters... you can tell because the blister the rocket pack is attached to is cannon fodder grey and not roy's white.
  12. no kidding. that pic of fighter mode was drool worthy. Wonky intakes and all.
  13. pftt, Enterprisewould have been MUCH better if they flew around in giant furry cats.
  14. stop being the voice of reason man!
  15. oooh, nice. I'm surprised at how nice the standalone ghost looks on the 0s. hmmm, now I'm rethinking my decision not to get one... oh well., live and learn.
  16. yeah, and I can't wait to see what yamato has planned for non canon paint schemes as well.
  17. I think that's the result of Graham not being as active in the toy forums... something about him being fed up with our constant battying of yamato.
  18. well, since the movie megs toy transforms into some alien jet thing, I think we can assume that he's an alien jet thing in the movie as well.
  19. bah, BoB is only black and white when it comes to yamato. He's more than willing to overlook the flubs in bandai, takara and whatever other toy he actually likes.
  20. oh yeah, like I said, I'm pretty happy with my yf-19. my only major quibble is the price. but being the beliver in a free market economy that I am, I'm of the opinion that if you can't afford a luxury item, boo hoo, too bad for you.
  21. well, to be fair to both sides, it's pretty maddening to put down a 150 dollars only to have something break because some materials engineer didn't bother to check if the plastic they used on a stress bearing joint could actually handle normal handling stresses. We're not talking about people who force a hinge or something here... we're talking about plastic way too thin and brittle to handle normal transformation. But back to the actual topic of the YF-19/FP. the only reason I'm not going to get one is the price. With the SV-51 just around the corner, I just don't have a spare 230 bucks to spend on this guy... I have a 1/60 yf-19 and I'm pretty happy with mine. I haven't broken the neck, nor does it look like it's going to any time soon. The fit and finish is pretty darn nice as well. More than the gunpod, I'd rather the shoulder pads fit flush in fighter mode and the wing roots locked into the legs better as well.
  22. at least he's consistent.
  23. it's painted on the heatshield on the 1/48s. Well, painted under... the heatshield is made of clear plastic so the skull is protected during transformation.
  24. That would be a good idea if I wasn't so lazy.
  25. so... you have no opinions on the car you drive, right? because you couldn't design and make one yourself, you have no right to judge if say a kia is better than a BMW, right? Or if you go to a resturant and order a meal, you don't have any opinions on the taste or quality, since you're not a professional chef? Once someone puts something out there to be consumed and asks MONEY for it, we as the CONSUMER have every right to critique and judge for ourselves, whether we like it or not. What gives us this right, because we're putting out hard earned money down. And the reason people like Ebert get paid to offer their opinions? Because other people *gasp* like and even respect what they have to say. Maybe you don't, that's fine. Let's see you do better.
