  1. true, I'd love to see some big boats broadsiding each other with valks dogfighting in between, dodging missiles and gunfire all the while trying to dodge massive cannon blasts.
  2. yeah... unfortunately, I can't think of battle 7 without seeing those giant hands firing the ridiculous "gunship"
  3. ooh, that's right! I hope the new SDF is a proper warship.

    VF-0S

GAH! I'm going to fix the arms on my two busted 0s and try to offload them on ebay... and get a proper one instead. It's not just the arms, the whole thing is a loose floppy mess. thighs, bicep swivels, feet, backpack... it's just mad making.

    VF-0S

so soon? who wants to buy two 1st release VF-0s?
  6. Here's the email thread I had with oishi@hlj.com : Dear Sir/Madam; Thank you for your business with HobbyLink Japan. We have received your parts request and are processing it now. As soon as we hear anything back from the manufacturer, we will pass that information along to you and/or ship your parts. Best regards, Takayuki Oishi Customer Service Representive www.hlj.com >I will need them as a set. left and right, 1 each for >the VF-0a and left and right 2 of each for the vf-0s. > >thank you > > >--- Takayuki Oishi <oishi@hlj.com> wrote: > >> Dear Sir/Madam; >> >> >> Thank you for your business with HobbyLink Japan. >> >> 1. >> >e) POM replacement shoulder >> >f) qty 1 >> > >> 2. >> >e) pom replacement shoulder >> >f) qty 2 >> >> Those arms are right or left! 7. I've posted SEVERAl times now that HLJ charged for BOTH parts and shipping. And yes, yamato f'd up and chose crap plastics, but at least they're releasing fixes at no cost, fixes that HLJ are now charging me for. That's the main issue. BTW, I don't see takara rushing forward with fixes for the NUMEROUS stress cracks on the MP SS, or Megahouse for their "so loose as to be worthless joints" on their massively expenisve tachikoma. And BoB, I know other people have asked you, but please stop with the personal attacks. Just because someone doesn't see something the exact way you see it, doesn't make them some sort of idiot.
  8. It's stealing because yamato is distributing the parts at no cost. HLJ has every right to charge for shipping but they shouldn't be taking money for these parts when the manufacturer is GIVING them to the retailers to distribute to cusomters. stop trying to twist everything to where it's yamato's fault. It dillutes your legitimate grievences with the company. And how is yamato stealing? Other than in your yamato is the spawn of satan sort of way? never mind, don't answer. I don't really care.
  9. This is a common misconception... japan has many distinct regions, dialects as well as ethnic backgrounds. Japanese themselves are a mix of koreans, chinese, polynesians and the like and their culture reflects those various influences. Japanese people as result have various physical traits as a result... Simply because the differences aren't as pronounced to outsiders, doesn't mean that they don't see those differences, or use them to segregate and classify each other. Keep in mind, there are ethnic Koreans and Chinese living in Japan, who have taken Japanese names and for all intents and purposes ARE japanese (born there, speak japanese, etc) but to the "real" japanese, these people are always outsiders. Then there's the attitude people from cities have towards people from rural areas, or just the regional differences. BTW. it's common in both korean and japanese culture to give deference to those older than you, especially the elderly... so in japan, you're the rude one by not offering the old man your spot in line.
  10. that's their standard cut and paste reply. Just write back and tell them that you would like to purchase the free replacement parts offered by yamato for the VF-0 and specify that you would like both left AND right shoulders, because the people at HLJ are both cheap and stupid.
  11. no. HLJ is charging for shipping and the parts. but if Graham comes back with official word from Yamato that the parts are to be given at no cost, then I have something to take to HLJ. This isn't passing the buck, this is called stealing.
  12. yeah, it didn't bug me so much at first, but after the 0A, I just can't help notice that the 0S looks like it has arthiritis or something, all hobbled and the like.
  13. bwahaha... tokyo alone has what... close 30 million people? I love it when people make generalizations on an entire society and culture based on their tiny sampling of people they come in contact with. Anyways, I always laugh at this phenomona of "the grass is greener"... you have the europhiles who think europe can't do wrong, la la la, then you have the asiaphiles, who think that east asia is some sort of enlightened uber culture.
  14. well, then there's the feet that won't lock out and the loose back pack.
  15. Well, I'm interested to see what graham has to say on the matter since he said that yamato wasn't charging HLJ for these parts. If that's the case, and HLJ doesn't refund my money, this will be my last purchase from HLJ.
  16. I take it off for the transformation, as the mount for the pitot tube blocks the hip latch hatch from opening and I'm paranoid about the leg bar snapping the tube off... then I put it back on after transformation with the tube sticking backwards. And yeah... the VF-0 sculpt is loose in fighter mode... if you add some layers to the leg tabs with nail polish or what have you, it helps a lot to keep the bird locked together.
  17. Well, that would be sad, as summer, imo, is the most charismatic actor out of the bunch. The funny thing is, Firefly DID have a pilot episode, one that properly set up the cast and crew... but Fox decided to run "train job" BEFORE the pilot which ruined the pilot as the whole "girl in the box" mystery wasn't really a mystery anymore.
  18. why don't you just pretend it's *already* cancelled and call it a day?
  19. have the producers said specifically that they're ditching T3? There's some wiggle room right? Srah is supposed to die in what.. 1997? so there's a few years between T2 and her death where this series could take place. Though.. it would be kind of a bummer character arc for John though... goes from jaded and cynical to outright bun. hah.
  20. they'll ask you for your customer number, and charge the card they have on file. If you don't have an account with HLJ, you'll have to make one.

    VF-0A

ah, the great VF-0a CF debate! where's BoB so we can get the flame war started properly?
  22. That's good to hear! Thanks for the continuing updates... I haven't heard much from HLJ after they emailed me back and told me they would send them out once they hear back from yamato... two weeks ago. Looking forward to changing my avatar pic update: apparantly my replacement arms shipped last week... and HLJ charged me 1500 yen per arm... sigh. hopefully I'll be able to post up some pics of them soon.
  23. yes, scans please! I've been gone for a week and there's no new news on this thing? booo!
