  1. yeah, that's pretty cool news. There's also talk of sam Jackson playing Nick Fury in the eventual nick fury movie.
  2. according to Ilaria Graziano, yoko kanno is not Gabriela, Ilaria says she actually met Gabriela once... who knows, maybe she's in on the gag.
  3. heh, neat.
  4. unfortunately, correlation does not describe a causual relationship.
  5. what about green, blue and orange then? Because I have red, orange, yellow, green and blue stickers. And all my Vf-0s, the ones with the cracked and shattered shoulders, have yellow So while I don't think you're right on your color code theory, IF you were, there's no evidence that yellow sticker valks have some sort of anti-shoulder cracking properties.
  6. Where would one find the identifying marks to differentiate the JPN and HK versions? I have japanese bought and imported versions and I can't find any differentiating marks on either the boxes or the toys themselves. as far as I can tell, they're all made in China. But then again, it's 2:30am for me, so I could just be blind.
  7. it's not unheard of... for instance, the japanese version of Cup Noodles is FAR superior to the american version, better quality noodles, big pieces of fluffy eggs and bigger pieces of meat. But in this instance, I don't think that would be the answer because there is no "official" exporting of yamato macross toys. So, people who buy these toys outside of japan, get them through various importers, ebayers, and some buy them in japan and fly them home. There's just too wide and varied a sampling to say that there's some sort of "b" stock that yamato is dumping on poor foreigners.
  8. Honest question, not being snide. Why do you think that is? How could the plastic be failing in such a dramatic fashion overseas, but NOT in japan?
  9. While I agree with you on your sentiment, you're in the wrong forum... this places THRIVES on finding the smallest thing to nit pick and badger on about. I swear to god, we got into a pissing match over the lack of a 2 degree downward angle on the 1/60 yf-19.
  10. for transforming from fighter to battroid/gerwalk, I would recommend popping open the back hatch, and pushing the shoulder mounts out that way, instead of pulling on the arms themselves. This should alleviate some stress from the shoulder, but more importantly, the BICEP which is just pulling apart for a lot of people, myself included.
  11. haha, it would be just like yamato to replace the SHOULDER with POM, but leave the lower part of the part the same craptastic ABS.
  12. die cast too heavy. machined aluminum. light strong, relatively cheap. Titanium is just too difficult to work with. maybe we should all just start writing letters to Kawamori... please stop designing mechs with spindley limbs!
  13. Nice, while i'm a fan of Oshii's GitS movies, I hope these turn out a little less obtuse than GitS 2.
  14. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...2261&st=160 so far, it's just stress marks, not the cracks or chipping like the ABS shoulders. but not a good sign. Then again, I don't see anyone lighting the torches over Takara and the stress mark fest that is MP SS. There's just a lot of bad blood built up against yamato here. I have to say, though, yamato really isn't helping the situation.
  15. well, stress marks suck. but I'll be satisfied as long as they don't crack or shatter like mine have. I guess, unlike my 1/48's, the zero toys will just sit in one mode and look pretty. Or, I guess I could always take the legs OFF, transform the arms by handling the shoulder mounts, being careful to never stress the actual shoulder joint and then pop the legs back on. Hmmm, maybe having to remove legs for transformation is a built in feature of the 1/60 line! blegh.
  16. wtf.
  17. Hey Graham, thanks for the posts and for the information. I think the problem here is that we're hearing one thing from you, and then when things actually start, what information we get is pretty different then what was told us. I'm not saying you, or yamato should be at our beck and call... but for many people, putting down a hundred or several hundred dollars on our hobby, only to find that the merchandise to be either defective or poorly designed and then to find that there's little support for us... well, it makes people angry and angry people say stupid things. Especially when weeks go by and we don't hear any news. Anyways, thanks again.
  18. Wow, it looks great in those pics. I love the way it looks with the wings folded back, ready to launch. I'm so tempted to keep my pre-order now. But at the same time, the recent back and forth with the VF-0's has really turned me off.
  19. lol, loved it. That's the funniest Family Guy has been in about 2 years.
  20. woohoo! the return of Graham! oh, and the telescoping gimmick is pretty good news too.
  21. well, that's good news. I'd take graham's word over those fools at HLJ anytime as well.
  22. heh. On that note, I thought Evangelion was complete crap until I saw the Unit 01 tear up it's first Angel. That brutal scene sold the series for me. And while all the pseudo religous stuff and pop psychology was interesting... I watched that series and the movies mainly for the eva on angel violence. Oh, I truly loved the gallons of spraying blood.
  23. bah, I'm going to beat BoB to the punchline: since when did anything yamato do make sense?
  24. MP skywarp looks sweet. I think it would like pretty sweet displayed along with the stealth vf-1j. Any news on if they improved the back/wing hinges? I'm afraid to transform SS at this point, since the big white stress marks along the engraved panel lines look fill me with dread.
  25. the stand out memory for me was macross plus, the opening sequence with voices, all green soothing, and then watching isamu bayonet the zentran armor. Up until that point, I had pretty much given up on anime as being either too silly or just not worth the effort to track down. But Macross Plus made me remember how much I loved Macross as a kid, the lovely valkyrie violence.. but also just those fond memories of running home through the park after school so I could watch my favorite show.
