  1. the brothers thing was talked about for a long time, and it was one of those sticking points for the whole anti-bay camp.
  2. yeah, but hopefully not so vomit inducing.
  3. i'd rather they didn't. Those schemes are so boring.
  4. Who's being defensive here? I just stated that your attempts to draw parallels between the two movies has little basis. 1, transformers is going to have cars and trucks and planes it in it. 2. Prime does not fight starscream on the highways, he fights another big truck on the highway. 3. The roads in question are on opposite sides of the country. And the sequence in transformers where prime fights is pretty short, the majority of the fights happens in a city. 4. Starcream never hovers or shows any sort of VTOL action in fighter mode. And what do you mean it's not a debate? Do you mean to say that your position is tenuous that you can't support it? Or do you mean that no one should counter you because your views are so insightful?
  5. the rumors are it will be a giant monster movie, but I don't know if it's going to be godzilla. Supposedly, the monster is being called the "parasite" internally. The interesting thing about the movie is that the whole thing is going to be like the trailer, shot from POV of the characters with hand held cameras. I got to say I'm pretty stoked about this one.
  6. yeah, the section 7 was particularly bad, imo. It was like he was in a totally different movie from the rest of the cast.
  7. I don't know, I've worked so long in various markets, dealing with imported chinese goods, and I can tell you, universally, their products suck. A big problem is a lack of fine measurement instruments in china. When they duplicate master molds for mass production, they're not really able to ensure that the copies are as good as the originals, reulting in mold drift. Then there's the problem of them going behind your back and using cheaper materials while charging you for the higher end materials. There's just no real system of ethics in china, to borrow a phrase, they practice a brutal form of capitalism.
  8. yeah, yamato will need to do something new with the rear landing gear. But out of all the valks, the 21 is the one I would be most willing to accept loose parts. For me, the slim profile is so iconic to the design, that an overly thick design, perfect transformation or not, would be a deal breaker.
  9. that was an f-35 JSF, not a 22. And many movies have had car chases with jets, on freeways. There's only so many places one can have a car chase. Unless you tell me that the semi mc clain was driving transformed, I think you're stretching here.
  10. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=yipeekiyay yipeekiyay is a word used for exclaiming ones self satisfaction or ones release of energy through a positive, invigorating manor. *jumps out of plane saddled on bomb* 'yipeekiyay!!!' for a more historical answer: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=yippie+ki-yay
  11. thanks, I was having the same issue, seems to have worked!

wow, this is a pretty cool project! Any guess on where the price point would be?
  13. the average yearly income in japan is similar to the average american yearly income... around 40-50k a year. I hardly doubt that toy collectors in japan are running out and buying every 100-200 toy that comes out.
  14. it sucks, but what does anyone expect from "made in china?" It's not as is if they're paid well, or work in decent conditions. Until the brass at yamato starting ponying up the money to hire people who care, we can expect to see these sort of manufacturing flubs everyonce in a while.
  15. better than cabages in condoms, I would imagine.
  16. well, it looks like some target stores are also dropping the price. Then again, most of the targets I've been to have ps3s sitting in their cabinets with nice thick coats of dust on them, so maybe this is just CC and target trying to get rid of some inventory.
  17. the FP release of the yf-22 fixed the under-carriage issue of the first release fairly well. I'm pretty confident that if (when) yamato releases the 1/60 version they'll have the kinks worked out. I'm more curious as to how they're going to get the landing gear in there. I'm thinking they're going to have to make the rear wheels rotate so that the gear well can lay more flush along those belly flaps in battroid mode. Or just have removable wheels. Which, I wouldn't be opposed to if it mean a slim and sexy side profile.
  18. wow, it's almost here!
  19. I've loved all of Pixar's offerings up until Cars, which still seems like "the cheveron commercial: the movie!" And while I've heard nothing but good things about this one, I'm just not that interested in seeing it.
  20. saw it, loved it. thin on plot, and bay still can't portray women as anything other than playmates of the month, and blah blah, the nit pickers are sure to have a field day, but the movie was a lot of fun.
  21. this is a sweet site, thanks for the link!
  22. I doubt it, 150 dollar market versus 25 dollar market.
  23. Heh, I love these threads. I know nothing about 3d modeling, but I'm always impressed by how diverse the talents are here at MW.
  24. aw, that spider tank looks pretty badass.
  25. gonna have to get me one of these. Looks so cool. I'm hoping they do a q-rau.. I'm still disapointed by yamato's lackluster effort.
