    Whatever floats your boat. You can tear down the bay-formers movies all you want, it doesn't make this a better movie in comparison. It does one thing "right" and even that completely falls apart when the ship is animated. The opening sequence when it launches out of it's rock coffin is particularly hilariously awful. I'd put this movie right there with films like the new Conan movie or Battle:LA and the Transformers movies. They're bad movies, but there's enough there to enjoy yourself, as long as you're willing to just enjoy it for what it is: cheesy B movie fun with an overblown budget. Any attempt to talk it up above that watermark is pure fanboyism though.

    LOL. Enjoy what you want. I'm only here to reject the claims that this movie was somehow better than the TF movies. At best it's right there with Revenge of the Fallen but in no way is it better. It's cut from the same cloth. And to compare this to BSG? HAHAHA.. no. In no way does this measure up to BSG. Not even the CGI, and that was a weekly TV show.

    If that's the only thing that we're grading on, then yeah. Yamato is better than the TF movies because the ship looks more or less the same as it did in the cartoon. Unfortunately the majority of the movie is filled with campy, melodramatic overacting, horrible camera work and a plot that makes even less sense than Revenge of the Fallen. But yeah, the ship looks nice, until it starts to move and then they animate it as if it were an x-wing in star wars. This movie was a complete POS from beginning to end.

    It's not "cult of the creator". I'm not saying he's right or that his decisions are good... I'm saying he made it and he owns it, therefore he has the right to do whatever he wants to it. edit: And what's the alternative argument. I paid 2$ to go see your movie 35 years ago so now you have to get my permission before you make any decisions regarding the franchise because I've spent the last half century fixated on these movies like it's my religion?

    No, that's not why they're making fun of. It's the whiny, entitled, petulant way in which they're expressing their desire that's being made fun of. You don't like the new versions, don't buy it. Lucas doesn't owe it to you or me or anyone else to produce a version of the film that anyone other than himself wants.

    That's because most fans don't consider them to be "his" movies but "their" movies. At the end of the day, all this fan rage isn't going to affect what GL does or doesn't do. After all, he already heard all of this before with the SE and it only emboldened him to go and make more changes. So if "fans" want to sit around and piss and moan over it, by all means, continue to do so. It makes for entertaining reading. But it's not going to change his mind or the minds of the millions of people who will happily by this set and sit down and enjoy them. Frankly, I have hobbies to have a good time and enjoy myself..

    he can say whatever he wants... they're his movies, his universe. People are free to move on and glom onto any of the other myriad fantasy worlds to vicariously live through.

    there is no canon EU when it comes to SW. GL has repeatedly said that he considers the EU to be parallel to the movies and that he'll take from them and ignore them at his whim.

    actually, that was the only complaint of his that I got. His other stuff about the legs, the quality of the plastic, parts not fitting together... hilarity. Especially considering how he passes off the same problems in other toys.

    lol. sorry, Conan the Destroyer already ruined the franchise. As for SW, get over it already. Lucas makes these movies for himself and it's pretty obvious he considers his audience to be 5-8 years olds.

    I really love the nacelles, has that art deco style that really works for me. I completely agree with the neck position though. I feel like they were trying too hard to reference nautical ships by making the prow so prominent.

    No idea what happened to the E. As for the mirandas and other rust buckets flying around in the TNG era, I think the in show explanation was that the Federation was in a long period of peace and ship building just wasn't much of priority. That all changes when the Borg invade and then again with the Dominion war when they lost ships left and right. I agree that the ent F intro in game is more about marketing than anything else, I'm just saying that 30 years is plenty of time, especially if we ignore the short jump between the D and F, 30-40 years between refreshes was the norm when it came to the Enterprise. 40 years between the B and C and then 30 years till the D.

    already? ST:0 takes place around 2409 The ent D was launched in 2363 the ent E was launched in 2372 Considering that there's only a 9 year gap between the D and E and nearly a 40 year jump to ST:O, having an F variant in game isn't really rushing things.

    even if the gullet doesn't bother you, the improvements to the transformation, posability, gimmicks, the locks for gerwalk and battroid, not to mention just the general improvement to the fit of the toy in all three modes... all those things on my preferred '19 design = a must buy for me.

    not a fan of the face sculpt. I think they deviated too much from model and wound up with generic anime asari.
