  1. hmm, the VF-14 pictured in the Macross Design Works looks different.
  2. ah, good point.
  3. For bigger tail fins, I wouldn't mind an anime incorrect solution, like tail fins that fold up flush against the back of the calf.
  4. Really? I liked yf-21 #1, I love the traditional bubble canopy.
  5. *looks at my VF-0* that's a sobering thought. a scary sobering thought.
  6. well, what do you know, yamato pro-actively addressing a quality issue!!! *runs to window to check for flying pigs*
  7. amazon.com for cheap HDMI cables. remember, it's a digital signal, so you don't need a fancy gold cable because signal attenuation is not an issue.
  8. holy cr@p! nice update!
  9. I'm envisioning yamato releasing the official isamu type VF-11 that wasn't shown due to an animation error.
  10. that's a good point. And betamax actually lived on in japan until 2002 so it's not like beta was a colossal failure or anything.
  11. well, there is the porn factor... this is true.
  12. I think beta was widely regarded as having superior picture quality but VHS tapes allowed far longer record times. Beta players cost more to manufacture and Sony wasn't as willing to allow other manufacturers to tweak the standards. And initially, beta was selling more units than VHS. But JVC allowed different manufacturers to tweak the design, the units were cheaper and eventually, consumers chose cheap and long record times.
  13. well, if what graham says is true, and yamato doesn't have the m25 license yet. I think we'll be seeing yamato move on to the vf-x license proper once they're done with the m0 and m+ toys. Makes the most sense, Vf-22 is an easy enough model change and they should already have the VF-11 done for the M+ line. This would make me most happy, since I may finally get a chance to get my hands on the VF-5000.
  14. it is inevitable.
  15. true, yamato would be pretty smart to release the vf-11, all the accessories just scream for multiple buys.
  16. yeah yeah, you and your scanner, showing up me and my camera and crap lighting.
  17. I guess in lieu of real news, an entertaining rant from BoB will do.
  18. sorry for the crap lighting. 1. no fast pack, no gunpods: 2. no fast pack, with gunpods: 3. with fast packs, with gunpods: 4: just the guns: they look like they just hang there. and yeah, I'd want to magnets per gun. but looking at the design of the gun, the upper part looks like it would have a "v" shaped trough along the top where it mates up with the belly plates.
  19. the two gunpods get stowed on the belly plates, directly following the little triangular thingie... I'd post a picture but I have no scanner. I'd rather yamato used magnets rather than those little wing hardpoints. Kensei - that's a pretty cool idea, I wouldn't mind a dual stand, as long as it had some flexibility in how you could pose them. Or... a two stands that connect?
  20. yeah, I'm hoping for decent sized feet. I always thought the 1/72 toy looked like it was the victim of chinese foot wrapping. And the tiny little feet did nothing for posability. hmmmm... now I'm wondering if the yf-21 will come with a stand like the sv-51?
  21. meh, I don't think so. There are far easier gimmicks that yamato will probably do, like the removable face plate. Given the amount of flak yamato has gotten due to the garland and the vf-0, I really doubt they would want to try their luck.
  22. yeah, it changes it a lot. one, the tail fins are gone, since they're mounted on the arms. And the belly is scooped out. It's not like the limbless yf-21 fighter is all sleek and sex looking, it looks down right wonky.
  23. Well, I personally prefer HDMI to component... because HDMI is cheaper. Yes, I love cheap digital cables to my thick expensive gold spun cables.
  24. Ah, my point wasn't that the zentradi would be more prone to disease and infection, just that their bodies give out earlier comparatively to humans. Kind of like the great cats and wolves compared to their domesticated cousins. By all measurable standards, the wild kin are physically superiour but their life spans are shorter. Not because they're weaker, but just because they don't have loving bipeds caring for them.
