  1. the line art has the vanes ending at knee level, while the CAD art *seems* to show the vanes starting at kneel level. I don't think it's that big of a deal but it would be nice if yamato had some sort of gimmick in place that raised the the thrusters up higher on the back in battroid.
  2. you should tell us. We haven't had a proper flame war here since in a while.
  3. Dang, I wasn't a fan of the nora paint scheme... until now.
  4. Hmm, they do look low. Will the low thrusters be the "gullet" of the 1/60 yf-21???
  5. There are plenty of uses for bipedal mecha in society. Do you think researchers in japan are sinking hundreds of millions of dollars just to make anime fanboys happy? anyways, that's a pretty cool vid. It's amazing robotics went from: bipedal walking bots are impossible! to: look at the transforming bipedal bot I made in my garage last summer!
  6. Try this wiki article on dead pixels: http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Stuck-Pixel-on-an-LCD-Monitor As for the warm/cool/neutral... warm means that all whites will be tinted red/orange, cool means whites are tinted blue and neutral means whites are white. Backlight, I don't know about your screen, but on my samsung, there's a noticable difference in the different levels. You might want to play around with your screens brightness and contrast levels and see how they are affected by the backlight strength. I have my backlight turned down to 70% because I found that it produced an image that was way too bright and distracting as wells over emphisizing greens (pan's labrynth looked particularly bad, the greens were almost neon) DVD and SD signals on HD screens. A general tip is turn down your sharpening setting. If your sharpening is set high, it increases the appearence of jaggies, pixelation as well making color gradations seems more harsh. As for DVDs, there are players that have a feature called upscaling. Basically it provides a 1080i signal from your DVD... it's not going to look as nice as a native HD source, but it should help give you a cleaner picture. If you haven't already, try searching sites like cnet to see if they reviewed your screen, often the writer or other users will post tips on setting up the screen.
  7. yeah, there's a guy in there.. he stomps around and the nose cone looks almost obscene the way it waggles about.
  8. the CAD of the battroid mode looks really good! I really like the way the wing folds back for battroid. Most scultps I've seen leave way too much of the wing sticking out, imo
  9. laugh all you want, but when you see him in person, the effect is truly striking. Like a baseball bat to the back of your head.
  10. well, if it isn't... just when I thought I was done with the vf-1...
  11. nice trade, that 1s sure does look good
  12. so why not get a 1/60 miria?
  13. I'm going to guess we're going to see a thread move soon.
  14. huh huh, you just made speculation, I gave specific order of release. Your kung fu is weak.
  15. if you're going to want to play your PS2 games, you'll want the 60 gig version. The 80 gig version has a software emulator that doesn't support as much games.
  16. I think those heat shields are just molded in place. I don't think those Vf-22 battroids are transformable. If they are... that's an AMAZING job.
  17. In general, most hobby industries dry up during the summer... for some reason, people go outside and play rather than staying in doors and staring at televisions or aquariums or what have you.
  18. even if it is a combustible, we have RL tech used to direct explosions away from internal gear, I'm sure a similar system would be in place on a valk. besides... the little shoulder packs on the yf-19 are nowhere NEAR as silly as the ginormous on the vf-19.
  19. really? that many? I think I saw these things at an anime expo... they were pretty hideous.
  20. just look for boxes that say "falcon" on the back. They should be in stores in the fall.
  21. yeah. I posted this same information when the arms came out. But those of us who got the 0S arms are in a worse place, because the arms come glued together.
  22. that one is easy, a cubit is around 18 inches, so the battroid would be 1/2 a cubit.
  23. battroid height: 7.40841505 × 10-18 parsecs I love google.
  24. 1/60th scale: fighter length: 10.6" = 26.9cm battroid height: 8.5" = 21.59cm Current Yamato VF-11: Fighter Length: 8.85" = 22.48cm battroid height: 9" = 22.86cm BTW, these numbers were derived by conversion of my earlier numbers, and not by multiplying the original dimensions by (1/60) so if they're off somewhat, that's why. is there some other unit of measurement I should post up?
  25. at 1/60th scale: fighter length: 10.6" battroid height: 8.5" current vf-11 toy: fighter length: 8.85" Battroid Height: 9"
