heh, it could be like the hidden figure in the marvel heroes series.. you get a part of the monster in each box (lord knows there's enough room in there) and when you collect all the repaints, you can piece together your own monster.
  4. yeah, right until the end it's a lot of fun. the live action stuff and the animated stuff is just jarring for me. , still makes me smile.
  5. yeah, this drought of information kinda has me worried.
  6. David, What's the current thinking on why there wouldn't be a gun? Is it back to the whole: with missiles, guns are useless, rhetoric? I thought vietnam and the six day war pretty much proved guns were still usefull even with missiles?
  7. that puts those little grunts yoda makes while riding on luke's back in a whole new and distrubing context.

  9. does it matter? they're both aristocratic theocracies. I vote for the empire, if only because there's less of them sanctimonious force users around. always walking around, waving their fingers, trying to tell you to not smoke or other nonsense... and then they go and steal your car. Well F you jedi, if you're so concerned about my health, how about you don't steal my car and leave me stranded in down town coruscant in the middle of the night. You think it's safe down here at night???
  10. getting slow in your old age?
  11. wow. that is just great work, it's truly an outstanding and faithful adaptation!
  12. it's still the 1/48 1a for me. Tightest fit, the seam lines are really minimal and no outstanding quality control or design issues. Every mode locks in nicely and even after all this time, the joints are still nice and tight and I don't worry at all as I transform it. It would be followed by the yf-19, which loses points only because gerwalk mode and battroid could have used better locks, or in the case of gerwalk, A lock.
  13. however, I see that in 2007, making uninformed statements based on rhetoric and propoganda are still in vogue. Apollo leader was making a statement on the obvious political bent of a writer, you're just making a politcal statement. A pretty immature statement at that.
  14. I thought the 360 specifically didn't accept xbox controllers. I think I remember some gripping specifically about the steel batallion controlers.
  15. I think one of those megaforce buggies is out on display at the army surplus store off of PCH in newport beach...
  16. Bah... talk about mixing metaphors.
  17. nice, I loved the bugged out eyes head. I think they nicely captured the Eva going berserk.
  18. shoji didn't really design the MP SS, he made some last minute changes to the design (which is a topic of great debate and teeth gnashing around here) but the bulk of the work was done by other folk at takara, as far as I know.
  19. I'd like to see the various modes with the script on them.
  20. yeah... seriously, they could have done the commemorative markings a little more discreetly... the yf-19 in particular looks like it got tagged up in los angeles one night... oh well. I am happy to see a little pilot all done in black sitting in the cockpit though.
  21. nah, those aren't nearly so smooth and seamline free. The yf-21 looks kinda like the hasegawa kit but the fuselage seems a little too stretched out. I'm assuming by 1/100 scale you're referring to:
  22. yeah, even the official macross website is useless. they have an update on tv playing of flashback 2012 but no mention of the concert or any frontier related news. BW needs to learn how to market better.
  23. true true. But I'd rather see lower prices first, and then someone win the format war, rather then one format winning while players were still around the 800 dollar mark. As it is, toshiba HD players can be found around the 200 dollar mark, granted, those arent the nice 1080p models, but I doubt the 1080i models would have fallen to these prices in less than a year if it weren't for blu ray.
  24. I'd rather it was more discreet, maybe just one "25th anniversary" along the wing or something and regular UN Spacy markings tampo'd on. But as it is, I'm interested in these guys for their commemorative/sentimental value as well as their aesthetics. As such, I prefer the script tampo'd on. But I get why so many people would rather yamato leave them off, they look pretty darn smart as just a regualr non canon paint scheme. Anyhow... where are my pre-orders?
