  1. why? bsg would be a good fit, imo. kevin smith is good at doing character driven dialogue heavy stuff.
  2. Personally, I think there's a middle road between the sheer amount of battying that goes on and writing everything off that yamato messes up on. I think most people can deal with miss fitting parts or what not, but major problems like joints not being strong enough or poor material choices should not be happening at this point. And I do agree, not everyone has the same amount of disposable income. For many of us, we simply can't afford to... or just plain don't want to blow 200 bucks on a toy that's going to fall apart or hell, even not be the best version of the toy in a few months. It doesn't make us any less of a fan, nor does it make us a whiner or what not.. it just means that given finite resources, we choose to get the best value for our money. Having said that, I will continue to maintain that attacking people, calling them names or talking down to them because they have differing view points is uncalled for. Ultimately, it's a toy and stop taking it so damn personally. Anyways, Swoosh, those latest pics are incredible. I've never seen the sv-51 posed to nicely!
  3. I don't recall ever seeing a vf-0s with busted biceps, which kinda supports the chemical reaction theory since the 1st release of the 0s has loose bicep swivels because it doesn't have the rubber rings... but then again, it could be the pressure from the flashing of the rings on the cf-0a that caused those to fail. Oh well, hopefully this survey will produce a clear trend in time for my asia trip
  4. I second this motion!
  5. Swoosh, Thanks for taking the time to post the wing fix. I'm bummed that we need a wing fix, but not angry, just a little:
  6. my palms are quite dry, thank you very much. Only the jedi would spread such vile rumors!
  7. haha... I can see it name, marlin finally gets nemo home to their anemone and nemo is all excited about school... and just then, while nemo is enjoying some yummy copepods for breakfast.... a chest burster! Marlin is frantic, oh no oh no! As nemo's dead and ravaged body slowly rises to the surface belly up, the little orange and black alien makes a mad dash for safety, only to be caught in the stinging arms of the anemone. Screaming in rage and frustration, the little alien is stung and dragged to be slowly digested in the gelatinous bowels of the anemone as marlin huddles nemo's broken body, sobbing to himself.
  8. according to mrs ron moore, kevin smith won't be directing an episode of BSG... to which I say, BOOO!
  9. well, I definitely think the extra flashing causing pressure is one of the culprits, but the way that plastic just fell apart, I dunno, I don't think the pressure alone could have done that, at least not make the entire area just fall apart like that. However, at least with the biceps, if they do break, you can epoxy the broken pieces in place and then epoxy the bicep arm covering to the fix, and reinforce the area. I guess only time will tell, if it is a chemical reaction, I wonder if we would even being seeing problems so soon after the shin combo was released, maybe in another few months we'll have a better idea if the failures were caused solely by due to the chemical reactions or if the poor designing is just as much to blame.
  10. yeah, the bicep plastic on my cf 0a was so brittle, it would litteraly fall apart as I was taking the area apart. If what yamato says is true, and there was some chemical reaction going on, the new biceps shouldn't have the problem. But at least check for the flashing.

  12. you should definitely check. the rubber ring yamato uses to create friction can have a lot of excess flashing on it, causing stress. the bicep that popped on my cf 0a had this problem and one of the replacement arms I got also had the same problem.
  13. you should watch the series, it's quite good.
  14. wow, for someone who likes to attack others for their apparant lack of intellect and cinematic finese, I somehow expected more from you than a school yard taunt.
  15. let's get those emoticons here... smart people, can it be done?
  16. could see something similar, use large guns to draw the attention of the pin point barriers while a dense missile swarm attacks areas unprotected.
  17. please, his whole UK crew thought he was a hack. they made fun of him, they made fun of his wife, they walked off the job. Aliens may have been a critical darling after it was released, but there was some serious contention during production. My source is bill paxton and the audio commentary on the DVD. But I guess you would know better, right? I'm sure you're also some secret industry player and actually worked closer on the film than paxton and know that he's just spinning yarn. Oh that bill paxton, such a funny guy with his giant ball of yarn. And Mr March: just becuase a film doesn't tread new ground or otherwise distinguishes itself from the pack doesn't mean it can't be fun. But I can fully accept that "fun" is subjective and that you and I might not have the same definition of "fun." However, I will maintain that attacking someone personally for their film or toy choices is uncalled for and immature. For me, that sort of rampant fanboy elitism automatically has little redeeming value. Just becuase I happen to like a certain movie or caliber of movie does not mean I'm some mouth breathing, highschool drop out hick. It may just mean that I have an appreciation for pop culture that is different from your, or bsu's tastes and I wholly object to being insulted because of it. Not saying that you, mr march, were insulting in your response, just that some people on this board can't distinguish between disagreeing and a verbal pushing match. But for anyone wanting to push, go ahead, I push back.
  18. nice
  19. so is it not possible to pose the wings in their bent position for the boosters as in the anime?
  20. oh, so it does. Funny, I never even noticed that!
  21. just one of the drawbacks of living in a respectful, law abiding society, I guess.
  22. I wonder if we'll have people stock piling these guys in the hopes the market value goes up like the low viz 1.
  23. just because aliens can survive space doesn't necessarily mean they can survive the crushing pressure of sinking to the bottom of the ocean. Though, it would make a funny scene to have the queen slowly rising up out of the surf at some beach.
