  1. well, I'm hoping/thinking bandai will do a good job on the new valk toys. Gone are the days when they could just slap their logo on somthing and expect market dominance. there's just too many high end toys and licenses out there now for fans to spend their money on. I think bandai will realize that if they want to compete in a niche market like Macross, they're going to have to pony up and deliver quality goods. and I'm really digging the new armor variants to the vf-25. sweeet.
  2. I recall in DS9 that they originally scrapped the defiant project because it was so overpowered. And yeah, in that one episode where the enterprice C comes forward in time, whoopie specifically talks about how wonky the galaxy class is if it were designed to be a warship. I think other episodes mentioned that the galaxy class has families and what not.
  3. the sovereign is the current incarnation of the Enterprise as sean in First Contact through Nemesis. Here's a write up and some pictures on startrek.com: http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/libr...icle/71711.html I have to admit, I like the intrepid class as well, though I never really understood the variable angle nacelle thing.
  4. Well, I was also looking at the wings, the sweep of the vf-5000's wings remind me of the mig's (more so than the f-22 which has pretty unique diamond shaped wings) and the raised engine nacelles superficially resemble the exaggerated leading edge of the tail fins of the mig. I'm not emotionally attached to this theory and the f-22 theory looks good, I just thought I'd further elaborate the vague similarities I saw.
  5. I don't see it either. I always thought the vf-5000 was modeled after the mig 35: or I guess, mig-29... since the 35 is kinda new...
  6. wow... new on youtube. The monster is... well, i don't want to ruin it.. but it looks like they cheaped out and recycled the animations from another WELL KNOWN giant monster attacks NY movie.
  7. completely agree. sovereign class just rocks. It has long elegent lines but it also looks robust and aggressive at the same time.
  8. ah well, it was fun while it lasted.
  9. don't forget south park (though i think their season is over soon anyways) they're not union.
  10. hey, this is a great mod, have you shown it to graham? maybe he could get yamato to do this for future release of the yf-19?
  11. or maybe they were interpreting this, and saying they were going to split the season was just their way of breaking it to the fans. Doubt it though. I'm still bummed it's going to take a year and a half to finish out this season though.
  12. meh, as long as they're rebooting the franchise, why not dust off the old ship? The design was great for when it was designed but it's showing its legs man. And I agree with other trek fans who're saying: star trek wasn't about the STUFF. It's about people and their relationships and exploring the concepts of humanity.
  13. flurl.com, it searches a bunch of those video sites...
  14. Edited by JsARCLIGHT Another one bites the dust. Seriously guys MW is rated PG-13. If you have to put "NSFW" in your post then PLEASE DON'T POST IT HERE. Thank you.
  15. I got 15 seconds into it before screaming like a little girl.
  16. Edit by JsARCLIGHT Wooooooooooah definately not MW approved.
  17. I wonder what his neighbors were thinking. and god, that version of the robotech theme song is annoying as all hell.
  18. with so many potential color schemes... why hasn't a certain toy company made this bird yet? And I can't wait for you VF-5000 profiles to be put up mr. march!
  19. same here. I miss the days when we got to see prototypes and we would run aorund making comical claims like: it can't stand on it's own legs!!! OMG!!! ah, the good ol days.
  20. did those lines look a little wonky to you too?
  21. megahouse for me as well. it just looks the best in both modes... and I think the toynami cycle mode just looks outright wonky and unbalanced.
  22. the background plates and 2D stuff look grungy and lived in, but the CGI stuff looks shiny and new.. well, until they get shot up.
  23. ah, nice nice. I'm releived that the hump back in fighter mode I was complaining about must have been a scan related illusion.
  24. I liked it. I do think the CGI looks better than the first one and I do agree that everything looks too clean. My big complaint is with how the clothes move (or don't) on the bodies. Swaying trenchcoats are cool and all, but when the sleeves fold like they're made out plastic when the arm bends at the elbow it really drops me out of moment. plenty of john woo moments for people to giggle about as well.
  25. looks like the fanboy whines of JJ Abrams Raped My Childhood have begun in earnest now.
