  1. Yeah, my final, "real" character will be a vanguard. they just rock so much. I need to make a badass renegade character as well though.
  2. wow, spoke too soon. Apparantly the divx support does include the media center extender... how pointless is that? I guess I'll be sticking to transfering videos to my USB stick and playing them off my DVD player... which is quieter anyways.
  3. yeah, whatever missgiving I may have on seeing the feet, they're more than offset by the sleekness and overall accuracy of the sculpt.
  4. beaver tail it is then... snicker snicker.
  5. beaver tail? heehee, the 13 year old in me made me giggle. hahaha.
  6. oh, I don't mind and yamato even got the feet to conform to the triangular shaped piece between the nacelles (what is that called anyways?).
  7. meh, it removes a step, I don't need to burn a DVD or transfer files to a usb memory stick... now I can just stream movies from my vista box directly through my 360.
  8. ah, haha, i just noticed the feet sticking out in fighter mode.
  9. Just finished my renegade run... the renegade ending is really something else.
  10. I know, the high quality cables, the speakers, powered subs, high end receiver... my god.
  11. Are we putting bets down on how long after he upgrades his set he starts upgrading his audio?
  12. well, if we're optomistic, either yamato or bandai will get the license and continue producing high end toys. pessimistic, bandai gets the license and puts their B team in charge again and we get more kiddiefied valk toys that wouldn't look out of place standing next to Transformer planes... I'm going to go with optomistic.
  13. I'm happy to hear these guys are getting double joints... I wish yamato would put them on their transforming toys as well...
  14. I want neither. I like the tv 1j colors, but the 1a schemes just seem bland.
  15. wow, ouch. thanks for the link!
  16. usually the business end of refurbs will be in factory fresh condition, but the shell may have cosmetic blemishes, like dings and scratches. You can always try amazon or pricewatch.com. I bought my TV off of amazon, and at the time, I got it for nearly 30% off retail. Even after shipping/handling, I still saved about 500 bucks.
  17. the philips outlet store has a sale going on and apparantly they're not discriminating against non-employees. the site has been linked by slickdeals.net so beware, the site is being hammered but there are some deals to be had: http://www.shopping.philips.com/holidayoutlet/
  18. looking for information back in 1999 on the yamato macross plus valks.
  19. did you contact him on this, or did he just read this thread and fix the issue on his own?
  20. that makes a lot more sense, thanks.
  21. again, why the difference then? Are you saying that bubba hotep or python versus anaconda are somehow cheaper to master and stamp? That those discs cost less to ship? Or that they don't cost the store as much to shelve? I'd like to see some numbers to back up your assertions. I'm not denying that economies of scale exist, I'm just doubting the claim that they would justify a near 100% mark up in price compared to other comparable shows.
  22. I don't know why everyone is assuming low numbers = high costs. Highly niche market movies like Bubba Hotep came out in the 14 dollar range. so too do the myriad direct to DVD movies. Are you guys telling me that python versus anaconda sells more units than shows like Transformers? Or that Disney/Pixar movies which always sell for 20.00 retail are a niche market comparable to anime shows like eureka 7? Manufacturing costs on DVDs is very low and it doesn't cost that much nowadays to master a disc either. I think most people want to do the right thing. They want to buy and not steal, they just don't think the inherent value of a lot of media is worth the asking price. and since it's so easy and annonymous to steal, they do it. Personally, and I think many people would agree, anime shows charge top dollar and seem to provide little in return. Most discs are no frills ports of the show with little or nothing in terms of extra content, yet they ask as much, if not more than 2 disc Special Edition discs that offer hours of extra material as well as commentary. I'm not condoning priacy, I'm just trying to give an insight into why many people d/l and then don't buy the discs.
  23. I have the 46" samsung LN-4665f, it's glossy but I love it. The blacks are nice and inky and you can adjust the crap out of the picture. The 2007 samsung screens have been getting very good reviews and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
  24. wow, that was fast. Great service from Carlos.
