  1. that's great, I'm honestly glad to hear that. Now yamato just needs to deliver quality like that, right out of the gate, the first time, with the first release. I'll be a happy camper.
  2. honestly, in terms of parts fitting together and everything locking in place in all modes, every release has been a disapointment compared to the 1/48. In fighter mode, the thing had almost no gaps and all the pieces just fit together beautifully. Everything was solid in all three modes and it could hold any pose the joints would allow. Since then, every single release from the POS konig, to the amazing destructo VF-0 has had some problems. Even the yf-19 and sv-51 which have been some amazing engineering have big body gaps or other wonkiness. I'm hoping the yf-21 regains some of the glory and luster that the 1/48 vf-1 brought yamato
  3. well, just that one of the wings couldn't fold properly because some underpaid chinese worker couldn't figure out the difference between left and right. and the droopy wings. other than that, it's been pretty good. Close, but you know what my track coach used to say about coming in 2nd place? 2nd place just means you were the last to lose. He was a bitter old man, my track coach. I guess it rubbed off on me a little.
  4. if the 1/60 is perfect (within reason), no exploding joints, no wonky gunpods, no wings that don't fold right or parts that just plain don't fit. I'll be a happy camper and if it comes with discreetly removable limbs as a garnish, well, I'll order me a 2nd helping with a side of crow pie.
  5. can you really blame me?
  6. my point is, if yamato can't be trusted to use the right materials on a limb that isn't supposed to fall off, why gamble that they will properly select and TEST a material that will be used on such a high stress area? You're just asking for trouble. I am, in general, against gimmicks, that by design, will introduce new points of failure and create stress on the materials. Even if you're just pulling a peg in and out, eventually the nubs that hold the peg in place will wear thin and you'll have a loose limb. Or, if yamato actually bothers to engineer some sort of locking mechanism, you have extra bulk. If I was buying a 15 dollar transformer, I wouldn't care if it had giant forearms to accomodate missiles for hands or whatever but I'm not, I'm buying a 200 dollar collectible toy and I just want a company that has a spotty record with the BASICS to get that right. Maybe after yamato has produced a few engineering and QC first releases (so far they have ZERO) I'll have more faith in them.
  7. I'm pretty sure the first aid achievement is unlocked for total usages. I got it on my 2nd run through, only a few missions into the game, and I know I didn't use it 150 times.
  8. maybe because yamato doesn't have the best reputation when it comes to selecting the right materials for high stress applications? Maybe because they've released 4 toys now where limbs just fell off? maybe because of the: don't worry the vf-0a CF is fixed! oh wait, just kidding. don't worry, the shin vf-0a is fixed! oh wait, just kidding... only SOME of them are fixed. Don't worry, free replacement arms! Oh wait, they're not free. fisaco.
  9. that's how I pronounce it. If the japanese can butcher english to make it more palatable to them, they won't mind when I do the same.
  10. they have the X Y A B buttons already mapped, otherwise, the same. You can always map the LCD buttons to those buttons on a regular harmony
  11. I don't know how many endings are, but there are at least two. And depending on how you end the game, it will really affect things in the next game. Completely change the political climate. I'm on my 3rd playthrough right now, and I'll try fiddling with the ending again... I'm playing as a paragon but I'll try the "renegade" ending and see if anything is different.
  12. yeah... it's kind of like a slap in the face, we know we released four toys now whose limbs FELL off... so now we're doing it on purpose. Besides, I just want yamato to do the basics right. What are the basics? No huge gaps in between parts, joints that are tight, joints that don't fall apart, making sure everything lines up correctly... fraking coloring the planes the way we SAW them in the fraking anime.
  13. I'm still having fun, and I'm well into my third time through. The classes are different enough that it really affects the way you play the game.
  14. hahaha, thanks for the edit. Though, I can think of some US shops that don't care either. I have only anecdotal evidence to go by, but a lot of times I shop in asia (china, korea and japan), the storekeepers make me feel like they're doing me a favor or that I'm interrupting their day. This isn't the case so much with older store-owners (folks in their 40-60s) but with the younger kids... man, they'd rather be somewhere else and they want you to know it.
  15. <necessary backtrack> sorry, wasn't trying to be an ass, just a smartass </necessary backtrack>
  16. yeah, eventually they got back to me. But you have to spell EVERYTHING out for them. They're completely unwilling to look up your account, or orders, or part numbers or do anything that might cause them extra work.
  17. unlike you, I don't use the misery of others to feel better about myself.
  18. there are shops that go the extra mile and really care about customer service, then there's HLJ. They wouldn't combine two seperate orders that shipped on the SAME day for me, despite me emailing them about it, WEEKS in advance.
  19. You need to depress the back hatch and then you can use the little latch on the back of the hatch to secure the backpack and then use the the collar piece that came with the fast packs to keep everything in place. To depress the hatch, I insert it at a very slight angle so that you're not rubbing the little nubs that hold the hatch in place.
  20. I think the differences will really be felt in the next game, depending on how you end the game, you can really change the status quo.
  21. the halo maps are not free. I think it's supposed to be 800 credits. Eventually they're supposed to be free though, in the spring of next year or something. Apparantly, it won't affect matchmaking though. There was a lot of grumbling about the price, 800 is pretty steep for 3 maps, but bungie said that they didn't get a say in the pricing. So we can all thank MS for this one. and the fall update is scheduled for 4am december 4th.
  22. so, if this works, I think you need to complete the other missions first, I completed all the assignments and nothing unusual happened.
  23. yeah, I would bite for a deal like that. At this point, I'm hard pressed to justify paying 120-150 bucks for a 1/48. It's a great design, but I just feel like it's old and tired.
  24. yeah, or at very least those vanes. That would be awesome, it always bugged me about the 1/72 that in gerwalk mode, it was basically a hollowed out shell.
  25. no, they're in the same spot everytime... and there are more than you need, but if you don't survey worlds and you only follow the locations on the Map, you won't collect enough.
