I think a part of it has to do with the conflict between HD resolution and relatively low capacity DVDs. All the textures and audio is going to take up more space now then they did for the xbox. And people just won't settle for low res graphics or stereo sound anymore. By the end of the 360's scheduled product life, I think developers will really have to figurre out how they're going to get around this limitation and I think we'll be seeing a LOT more DLC... not as bonuses like in marvel alliance... but to actually help flesh out the game.

yeah, that's a pretty fair complaint... there's just not a lot of variety in the game in general. the abilities just get stronger, we don't see any visual changes as your powers grow and all the weapons and armor look essentially the same (for each class).

thanks for the sympathy guys. I can understand the wait. these things can happen, but the lack of updates and than the telling me just received his shipment when he had been sending other people's orders out. All I can say is, if he didn't want my money, he should have just told me.

I just want to give a shout out to twin moons for finally shipping my pre-order. 4 months after the toy came out. And 2 months after he took my money. And never giving me any sort of updates without me emailing him for me. Oh, and i also appreciate being lied to about the status of it, telling me he hadn't yet received his shipment when other people had already received theirs. / sarcasm

I just watched the last three episodes back to back to back. God this season sucked and what was the point of it? Just to reset everything? Hopefully season 3 will be better, I don't see how it could be worse.

It's pretty clear from my post that I mean "meh" in terms of bandai's regard for the Macross. I have never denied that Bandai makes some good toys, just none of them are macross. I don't really count the chunky monkeys as Bandai though. You can say all you want about how great bandai is and whatever, the fact is, bandai treated the macross franchise like an unwanted child. At best, macross got the barest of attention and never their best and at worst, they just ignored it. Fact is, as much as yamato may have problems with engineering and QC, they took a franchise that relatively few people cared about and gave it some love. So, on the one hand, we have a company who CAN do great things but haven't and on the other hand, a company who may not have the sheer ability but have shown determination and a willingness to grow and try new things. Frankly, I'd rather reward the company that took a chance on diminishing franchise and elevated the market rather than reward some big company who have shown, time and time and time again that all they care about are the big cash cows. Hell, forget about Gundam, even POWER RANGERS gets more attention from bandai than Macross EVER did.

to each his own. I'm sure many people feel the same way you do, which is fine. Personally, i find his poses to be very stiff and wooden and find his drawings to be, on the whole, rather flat. I don't much care for the way he draws expressions either. There's a difference between most of the artists you mentioned and rob, most of those guys can draw photo-realistically and they know what a human body looks like and how it moves.. then they tweak it or stylize it. Rob's drawings look like he learned how to draw from those guys and the lack of the basics, really hamper him. But whatever, the guy is successful so good for him.

thats what happens when you learn to draw by looking at comic books and not at real people.

I don't think anyone who's voting for yamato is saying bandai CAN'T do it... just that they haven't and probably won't bring their A game to the table... why? because of 20 years of "meh".

true true, at the time I bought my samsung, it got better reviews than any sony, so I don't really care. I'm just jealous of the speakers

true true, but if the vf-0s shipped with the same level and type of issues as the vf-1a hikaru, I'd be a happy camper. but you have to admit, problems or not, in fighter mode, the 1/48 vf-1 still has the best fit of all the various parts and locks together the best out of any of the yamato macross toys. I guess I should have put a qualifier: best release for yamato...

yeah, I was pretty shocked, the I could launch ME from the dashboard, so i opened it up and looked at the disc. I though at first that my baby had opened and closed the drive when I wasn't looking, but sure enough all over the disc was a fine spray all splayed out from the center of the disc out. Also, got the Fall update, divx support works as advertised and I was able to watch gundam 00 and what not with the 360's video player. fun fun.

here's your "meh". I liked the Prime toy, but not enough to buy it again... and this is the version they should have released in the first place.

there are reports of them breaking down. but since they came out in two waves, who knows. Mine has the newer heat sink and it crashed for the first time today while playing ME. It also got hot enough, apparantly, for the lubricant in the DVD-ROM drive to liquify and spray all over the disc, leaving a fine film of white grease. But I haven't experienced and graphic rendering errors or anything.

ah nice of them. Well, I'm glad to hear everything is going smoothly with them. Who knows, maybe my dealings with HLJ were just a fluke.
