The real problem I'm having with 00 is that there are so many characters... so many characters that seem to do nothing. I get that they're there to show the effects of the CB's action in different societies/subcultures.... but I just don't care about them. Seed did the same thing, but I thought they handled it much better by consolidating some of the characters. 00 just has way too many unitask characters.

definitely, when the 360 launched, the PC fanboys were already laughing saying that their rigs had better graphics at higher resolution.. blah blah blah... of course, their rigs cost 2 or 3 times as much (easily).

oh, I agree. I was specifically referring to the claim that a PS3 could play unreal better than a PC.

yup yup.. for all Crusade's faults, there's real, genuine chemistry between ford and connery and it just can't be denied.. hell, the whole cast just works together so well. I still maintain temple of doom is the lame duck out of the series.

supposedly a mixed bag. Some parts had more noise than SD and some things, like the uniforms and the ships looked better. The HD audio is supposed to be very good though. My set is coming from amazon today, so I'll put up a mini review.

This is exactly the same arguement that the Xbox fanboys had last generation. The xbox guys kept talking about how their graphics were better, HDD this, Live that... and those were all true. Xbox smoked the Ps2 in terms of graphics, had a built in HDD and PS had nothing but rudimentary online support. But it came down to the games and who were playing those games and PS2 just had much more of an established market share. This time around, it looks like the roles have been reversed. 360 is pretty firmly entrenched, people are buying the machines and more importantly, buying the games. Hell, even a relatively niche market game like Mass Effect sold 3x the expected amount. And I'm sorry, as much as I like consoles... consoles will never compete with PCs in the graphics department. A console is a locked in technology for 5 years or more and a PC generation is sometimes less than 1 year and each generation there is a pretty marked increase in graphics and computational power. IMO, it's just blatant fanboyism to say that any console game could hope to compete with the PC version. Forgetting about everything else, just in terms of FPS and resolution a console can't hope to compete.

like, the xbox controler doesn't cramp your hands after 30 min? Or the xbox version doesn't require patching to make it work? fanboyism aside, I'd love to get a PS3, but like with the 360, I'm waiting until there's something I *really* want to play.

never trust the store displays unless you can verify the input and adjust the settings yourself. For example, at all the BB around my area, the HD demo units look like crap. The pictures are grainy and the sound is jacked compared to the BD display which always looks good. Thing is, I have a lot of those demo movies at home and they don't look anything like. And don't buy them at Fry's. Look on the net, I bought my samsung on amazon foe 30% less than retail and saved myself a grip on tax. or wait until CC has one of their crazy sales.

Did you use your fingers to apply or a grease/oil free tweazer? The smallest amount of oil from your finger tips can really negatively affect the stickers. You can try a THIN film of regular white glue to try and help the stickiness if the sticker is beginning to peel but it hasn't attracted any dust or other contaminants.

pretty much all HD sets now will do HDMI and any that does 1080p will definitely support it. For LCDs, you can't go wrong with the big 2, Sony and Samsung but Sharp is also very good and more competetively priced than the other 2. you'll want to consider the benefits of 120 hz sets. Since film is shot at 24 FPS, the 120hz sets can reproduce 1080p at 24 FPS natively, instead of some odd FPS between 30 and 24fps which can create orphaned pixels or slow downs in certain areas of the picture. As far as I know, 120 hz isn't even a fully supported standard, so you're milleage may vary. I know people who swear by it and I know people who swear they can't see the difference. The newer Samsung sets have this shiny/glossy screen thing going on. Apparantly, they changed the way their back lighting was handled and the matte diffusion screen was no longer needed and hence dropped. This isn't a big deal if you're TV room can be darkened or you can control the lights, but if you have lots of windows or something, it's definitely something to consider. However, the samsung screens as a result, tend to have really good light distribution across the screen. The regular way, high intensity lamps with a diffusion screen tended to result in subtle "hot spots" where the back lighting was stronger in one area than in others. All lCDs really have this flaw except for the newly emerging LED backlit screens which have more even light distribution as well as better contrast ratios since specific regions of the screen can dynamically have their back light cut to 0, giving unheard of contrast ratios... like 1,000,000 to 1.
