I'll always hold the movie inferior due to the cheese ending.

doesn't matter, the transfer is still an inconsistent mess. The level of screen noise can jump and disapear in the same scene. I'm not talking about day shots to indoor shots here.. I'm talking in adama's room, one second he looks like he has army ants crawling all over his uniform, the next second you can count the number of stitches on his color. And nothing excuses the audio/video synch problems on the 2nd disc. -
Oh, I think the Ps3 is worth it as well. I think it's a terrific value for the money. I'm just tired of the arguement that MS is this evil mega corp and that if the 360 wins this generation, that somehow gamers and the industry will suffer for it. Fact is, sony has done a lot to squash small time publishers while MS has supported them with Live Arcade and cheaper development kits. Has MS done some shaddy things in their own interest? Sure, but I think the 360 gets a lot of flak it doesn't deserve. dreamcast came along after the disapointing genesis and dreamcast had supply issues. Sega may have made a great console but they dropped the ball with it.

yeah, got it, MS is the devil... MS kills competition... Look, nintendo didn't "push" atari out of the market, and sony didn't "push" sega out of the market... these companies went down because they made crap games and crap decisions. They took their audience for granted and they paid the price. Nintendo learned and went back to focusing on games. All you brand X fanboys need to stop with this childish huddling around your favorite console as if they can do no wrong. Sony is just as guilty of trying to create a closed loop system as MS or apple. And for all the ill you people think MS has done, they created a platform which is easy to develop and publish for.

No, an lcd screen has X number of pixels on it and that won't change. That doesn't mean it can't accept inputs for different resolutions, it will just cheat and stretch the image, if you want full screen, or it will show the image as a smaller "screen" inside the screen... you know, like if you're watching a video file that's at a lower resolution than the your monitor is set for, it will show as a small image surrounded by black. and then you can zoom the image, make it fit player, etc... same concept with the TV. Just get the 1080p set, you can't go wrong and your 360 will look great on it. -
badly planned CG = ripped off tim burton's batmobile.

but the whole point is that kitt could drive around and be annonymous... bad guys would be like, "oy, there's a regular black car behind us, no worries!" not "oy, there's some super car from the future behind us! FEAR!!!"
-
at least it's a regular car and not some wierd "futuristic" car like in past knight rider reboots. but I agree, the mustang just feels wrong for kitt.

I love that poster.

yeah, I know. That's no excuse though. If I just wanted 1080p, I could have have just upconverted my SD set. I thought that they would fix the sloppy encode from the SD set, but no. oh lord, disc 2 has audio/video synch issues. it's about .25 seconds off -

I don't think it would be worth it if you have to do any fanagaling to get it to work. But I would suppose optical would give you a cleaner sound than RCA cables. -
I guess technically... 30 mins ago *is* younger...

I can, I'm just lazy. I would need to buy a few more optical cables and a splitter. I can live with pro logic until I upgrade to an actual av receiver. And I'll probably hold off on that for a while. I have no desire to run wires and what not. My currrent setup uses a wireless thing for the rear channels. -

I don't know what to say about the video on the BSG HD-DVD ... the "film grain" is really inconsistent, some scenes it looks like there isn't a stable pixel on the screen. The whole screen is just crawling with static, the problem is that the static consists of light and ark flashes and in other shots the graininess is conveyed much more convincingly. the opening sequence where the colony negotiator meets the Six for the first time is particularly bad. The bronze colored walls are practically alive with static and it's really distracting. Some of the shots of the characters walking around in their blue uniforms are pretty bad as well. Sometimes the level of static jumps considerably during the same shot. edit:: And then sometimes, the static/grain just disapears. Flat out GONE. wtf? It's just messy and sloppy work. BSG really deserved better than this. -

ah, okay, using my TV as a pass through, all the audio gets converted to dolby pro logic, so no DD or DTS support. boo. -
from macross plus, they strapped solid fuel rockets to the vf-11 so it could keep up with the yf-21.

oh... now that you mention it... and have a pretty picture... my sony MD *did* use one of those adaptors... amazing what 7 years of being in a drawer somewhere will do to my memory of it. -

my sony MD used a regular optical cable... I have no idea what an "MD optical cable" is. -
I don't see why not. The mounts on the fold booster just clip on/off so all yamato needed to do was make sure the spacing on the yf-21 would accomodate the existing spacing on the fold booster, make some new clips and there you go.
-
I think yamato got a lot of fallout doing that with the yf-19... the sv-51 came with all the accessories (except the daisy cutter, damn youz all to hellz). I think we'll just get one mammoth release for the yf-21 as well.

well, in my case, I have a HTiB and the dvd/receiver decodes dolby digital and DTS. For inputs, it accepts optical/digital and 2x RCA.. I connect both my HD STB and 360/HD-DVD to the TV via HDMI and output the sound via optical back to the HTiB to decode and output the sound. I could route the STB and xbox directly to the HTiB and use a splitter on the optical but I'm just lazy like that. My HTiB has a display which tells me what the sound source is as well as what speakers are engaged and I haven't had a problem doing it this way. <shrug> -

Really? I use my samsung HTiB for my audio and I have my cable box and 360/HD running to the TV via HDMI and outputting to the HTiB via optical from the TV and I don't have a problem with getting 5.1 from it...? Did I missunderstand something?
