ugh, I've avoided this thread for a while but the CM legioss actually looks far worse than the toynami version to me and that legioss/tread link up just looks amazingly half-assed. I guess I'll have more money my other hobbies.

there is FF online, but I have no idea if there's an additional subscription fee on top of the Live membership. I don't know anyone who plays either, so I have no idea. But I'm opposed to the idea of having to pay for Live and then having a second subscription on top of that, I won't be playing any game that attempts that model.

I hope so. I love that feature on the Zeroes. I'm also hoping the new 1/60 has a better collar system than the 1/48's.... that double twist collar bugs and it's one of main pet peeves with the design.

If they did it, I wonder if it would be a seperate version? Or will MS finally release a keyboard/mouse for the 360? Because I just don't see someone with the controller keeping up with keyboard and mouse folk in raids or in PvP. I wouldn't be keen on paying the Live subscription AND the WoW subscription either. As for the merger... I understand the "why" behind such mergers but I think it's a sad thing in general to have so much consolidation in the industry. One of the things that seperated Blizzard was that they developed their own IP and they put gameplay and community first and I hope that Activision's more "bottom line" focused mindset doesn't affect the folks at blizzard too much. I'm still soured at activision for all the half assed mechwarrior games they released in the 90's.

I'm going to go with tribute. Most of the time, these things are one offs and we never see them again, so I think it can be safely said that they're meant to be easter eggs or homages and are not meant as rip offs.

But hey, keep on with your rhetorical arguements. Maybe you can do some more selective transforms on the d-stance and post them up so you can prove how much more anime accurate it is? Or maybe it would be easier to doctor up some more line art pics to match the d-stance? Or maybe you can just fire off one of your witty little put downs?

true, I don't know why the fighter modes look good but in battroid mode, they look like sean connery.

okay, I'll admit this comparison is harder to make out. Frankly, I can't tell the difference between the yamato and dstance. they look about the same to me. mog:: stop stealing my lines man! MOD EDIT: No Zardoz

there you go. You can see where the yamato blends the undercarriage into the wings and the dstance has a big step. You can see the oversized nacelles and how that makes the tailfins look small on the dstance. You can see the elongated neck and the over sized bubble intakes. Also apparant is the relatively clumsy way the shoulder/arm assembly is hidden in the d stance compared to the yamato 1/60. And no, the two pics are not a true side by side and the d stance is 1/72 scale compared to the 1/60 scale of the yamato but I don't feel like doing the math to do the appropriate scale change on the picture of the d stance to give a true comparison. But the fact that the LARGER yamato 1/60 is the almost the same thickness as the smaller 1/72 d stance... And, yamato got its slim profile even WITH fully retractable landing gears.

there's a definite and deliberate nod to MacII in the show. When that pilot ejects from the vf-25 and fires off his weapon at the bug, that little helmet thing pops up over his head, a'la macross II. I thought it was a nice touch. And yeah, the new FAST packs on the vf-25 give me macross II flashbacks as well.
