for sh!ts and giggles, go dig up the original dx 25 thread and read how many members vehemently defended the v1 DX 25. It's quite the laugh riot.

That's really a question only you can answer. How much do you like the design versus what's your tolerance for spotty QC? Personally, I don't regret it and I think it's an phenomenal jump from the original DX 25. To me, it's as big of a leap forward as the yammie 1/60 vf-1 to the 1/48 vf-1.

can't go wrong with a yf-21!

engineering issue: not using the right plastic so that it falls apart. QC issue: workers with glue all over their hands putting the toy together so that it comes with frakking super glue finger prints all over the place. To yamato's credit, at least when my vf-0a's arms were falling off, the paint looked good. Meanwhile, while my DX armored Ozma is falling apart (gunpod has cracks along it, the front landing gear bay doors are crumbling, the back hinge has huge cracks, the wing glove hinge has huge cracks) the POS came out of the box with a huge gash on the head where someone at the factory forced it in. And while I got replacement parts from yamato to fix the arms, I never heard back from bandai or HLJ about the DX ozma. So yeah, I'll take Yamato's QC any day over BanDai's

I guess it depends on where its loose. Mine was at the shoulder and there's one screw on the bottom of that shoulder/collar bone assembly. There's a PVC insert that's supposed to apply friction to the ball (which is a plastic half hemisphere on a metal post) but for whatever reason it wasn't doing a good job. The lower elbow joint is a little loose as well but I'd have to take the forearm apart to get to it. But I'm kind of paranoid when it comes to these guys. I've had a screw shear off at the head before on one of these DXs (the yf-29), so unless it's seriously affecting my enjoyment, I try to leave it alone.

my copy's left arm was loose at the shoulder as well. I gave the ball joint a coat of nail polish, it's been good since.

Thanks! The actual toy is definitely a little darker, more like what m0n5ter posted.

Takes a big man to admit when he's wrong and considering how wrong Aeternalis is, he must be a giant.

I'm using the 2011 package with the latest nvidia drivers and I don't have any other codec packages installed. -
How about supervised visitation?

latest CCCP pack and media player classic work just fine for me -
That ingram is awesome with a side of awesome sauce.

toynami made it, therefore it's more of a POS than a statue or a toy.

it's not hard to find and I think mercurial is trying to get a bay area viewing going over in the conventions and gatherings section -

I'm going to go with that. Makes far more sense to me than the idea that the only way to get the yf-19 up to par with the 19a is to retrofit boosters from 25 years later on it. -

Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force

Okay, so that's what I read and it seemed to me you guys already had it in your mind that the 17 should be cheaper because of...? But there you go. -
Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
eugimon replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
How can you guys claim to know how complicated or not the 17 is? The complexity and size of the individual part is going to affect the price but the complexity and size of any individual piece will also be affected by the physical limitations of the molding process itself. As will the finish. The 19 has a glossy finish, which is cheaper than the matte finish of the 17. Whether or not the pieces form a complex shape when assembled isn't going to affect the per unit cost. You also need to factor in what yamato thinks it will be able to sell. The 19 has the kai, the two blazers and the P (and probably two variants of that) ready to go with minimal retooling in between. The 17 has only the two types, with possibly a milia repaint. The 17 is also not as popular of a valk as the 19. So maybe the 19 is more complex with more parts, Yamato is also probably going to sell a lot more units of it so it can spread that cost out over more units than the 17. -
I'm more impressed by other toys like the 1/3000 SDF-1 or the vf-19 but the vf-1s is my favorite due to nostalgia and being the most iconic

Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force
eugimon replied to charger69's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
lol, what did you think it was going to look like? Generally Yamato tends to follow the paint scheme that's shown in the show. -
I think the gunpod is supposed to collapse to clear the crotch plate in fighter mode. http://bananarepublic.gap.com/Asset_Archive/BRWeb/content/0003/449/259/assets/logo.gif You can see how the foregrip is a separate piece from the rest of the gun. My guess is that it's supposed to collapse into the gunpod and they just didn't do that.
-
yeah, you pull that extension out for fighter mode. There's a surprising amount of diecast on this mold. The shoulder swivels, the back plate, those arm joints, the ankles, all diecast.
-
they can still touch, not like before, no. But you can still do it if you're not careful
