the funny thing is, my wife is related to someone who works for toshiba... hahaha. getting senile in my old age. in other news, Warner Bros is only going to restock HD-DVD if the demand is there: http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/02/14/warne...and-necessitat/ -
nice, I dig the new look. Or maybe that change was old, but it's new for me!

huh, woops... I never noticed toshiba brand TVs... my bad. Well, it's not like sony was/is turning a profit on each PS3 sold, yet they still did multiple bundle sales at differing major big box stores. -

at this point, what can they do? Only thing they can do really, is to start giving away players and movies. It's too bad that toshiba doesn't manufacture tv's.. they could have done what sony did and gave away free players with a purchase of an LCD/Plasma TV. Though, I'm of the mindset that the movies they had in their library just didn't get people's hearts racing. A lot of the movies were slower, more thought provoking movies, while the blu-ray camp had a lot of the summer blockbusters as well as visual spectacle type movies that really showcased what HD video/audio could deliver. I mean, I thought Eastern Promises was one of the best movies in 2007 but you didn't need to watch that in HD... PotC 3 or spiderman 3 though... hell, the only way to slog through it was to watch in HD and enjoy the eye candy. -
that's looking pretty slick. So many great yf-19 customs of late, I'm loving it!

check your RAM.. try swapping the sticks if you have more than 1. -
my guess was to do reshoots and retool the script some. JJ had complained that he had to shoot some scenes from the script even though he had thought of some new lines due to the writers strike.

well, that's what the new live action show and the new game are going to focus on, right? I'm sure we'll all be complaining about that in a few years. -

well, we're arguing over your use of the word "redo" I don't think anyone is arguing that lucas did a solid in terms of the original clone wars show... which was the best thing about the whole prequels nonesense. -
looks like a certain someone is going to have to go all out now. Good job on the pinstriping! The flow from the nacelles to the tail fin looks great.

How is that a redo? He isn't retelling the same story, he's adding to the story. This is no more a redo of the clone wars than empire strikes back was a redo of a new hope. -

yeah... honestly, the prequels really turned me off to star wars. They were so convoluted and incestuous... oh well, we'll see. Hopefully it will be great and likewise the show. -

yeah... if the success of blu-ray shows the power of hype and marketing, the failure of HD-DVD is a showcase in corporate greed. -
you think having a giant pole shoved up his arse would make him happy???

thanks for the pics! They look pretty good to me in soldier mode, but I can't get over how small that bike mode looks.

I may not be sold on a toy based on the resin mock ups, so I'll check back to read the reviews. Actually, even if I am sold, for some companies, I'll ALWAYS check the reviews. So, I don't see anything wrong with coming back and checking in on a thread, looking for more information, nor do i see a problem with expressing my pleasure or displeasure based on the feedback of others. As long as your opinion is based on something tangible and not on partial scans of CAD drawings or blury photos taken from under a hat at anime expo, I don't really care if you like it or not.

The Hobbit maybe set in the same universe but the book has a completely different tone compared to the Lord of the Ring books and both are different in tone to the Silmarillion.

I don't see how the two are even remotely related. The Tolkein trust has a responsibility to protect and nurture Tolkein's work and they have the right to be paid for those properties. They sold the rights to newline and they have the right to collect, regardless fo whether they were 100% behind the end product or not.
