every review I've read says it looks slightly better than the standard DVD release... which looks like a VHS copy. -
dynasty warrior never gets good reviews but it always sells well.

yeah... because you know, the day that warner announced they were going blu, what did sony do to blu-ray player prices? I'll give you a hint, it wasn't down. -

thanks for the heads up! Did you notice if any of the box sets were on sale? -
yeah, the show is starting to shape up and the actors feel more comfortable in their roles, imo.

I find it still difficult to find new BD movies at retail. I was just at Fry's and they had a nice endcap for all the new DVD releases, but I couldn't find a BD michael clayton. And the selection at target is just sad. -
how do you like those polk speakers?
-
and well you shouldn't! Why, just the other day I caught my HD TV rummaging through my drawers. Of course, when I confronted him, he just sat there and denied it all but I swear as I turned to leave the room, he smirked at me. The bastard.

it seemed to me that KITT's personality was developing thoughout the movie.. I'm guessing that if there is a series, we'll see a progression,a'la Data, with KITT becoming more personable.
-
blasphemy! I'll always love shelby mustangs,
-
not true! The mustang may not be a good KITT, but a shelby cobra is infinitely cooler than a trans am. Actually, I don't even care that KITT is a mustang.

CG Star Wars movie in theatres this august

warmaker: Thanks for posting up that passage. I like how it even lays down a more solid framework for why anakin eventually helps Luke at the end... it's much more psychological than a simple "there's still good in him." On the other hand, I kind of like that sort of simple moralizing that's found in the OT. It's such an homage to simpler times and to the stories and myths of old. -
looking good! How does the paint hold up on that hip/thigh joint? Looks like there would be some concern over chipping.
-
yeah the teaser had some cool moments I thought.. it looks like it will be fun.
-
yeah, I was thinking the same thing about that warehouse scene.
-
and you would have a point if anybody here actually said any of those things. Nice. BTW, I love that you come in here, start lecturing and insulting people you don't agree with and then ask us to be nice to you. That's nice. And I noticed your post over in the cyclone thread, what's that? I thought you didn't have anything negative or critical to say about toys? It was meant to be small, just enjoy it for what it is.
-
Apparantly you don't think too much if you think simply discussing a major plot element is "overthinking" and "overanalyzing". So what would be an appropriate response, in your world, to a movie? "That was good." "That was ungood." "That was plus good." But hey, thanks for dropping in and for the lecture. We get it boss, you're hip and cool and everything is groovy for you... well, everything other than letting other people enjoy their hobbies in the way that best suits their tastes.

I like that beta/alpha they had up. After that other attempt, this one looks very very good. I just hope the build quality is there. And I would be pretty happy in toynami/HG officially sanctions the MH cyclone., I'm hoping that could mean a lower price point.

good god. No one hates aliens. Look... simple: aliens = good Indiana Jones = good Indiana Jones + Aliens = BAD.
-
it was meh. Maybe it would have been better if there wasn't a commercial every 5 minutes. The whole, only bullet proof when the computer is on... that's just lame. the old KITT was bullet proof all the time, did bullet technology increase greatly in the past twenty years that the old bullet proofing technology just couldn't cut it anymore?
-
yeah, I'm really hoping the alien thing is a red herring and just a nod to all the area 51 stuff.
-
so what if he did? We're not talking about AI (which had it's own problems), we're not talking about some one-off story where you suddenly find out bruce willis is dead or something... we're talking about an established franchise that has been following its own internal logic through three movies, a TV show and a couple of computer games.
-
this is the funniest thread/exchange I've read in a LONG time. Thanks guys! I have to agree with Hurin on this though. There's an established set of rules governing the indiana jones movies. That is, as viewers, we have all accepted a certain level of logic and consistancy. Namely, there are mystical/spiritual forces in the world and humans can influence or are influenced by them. Now, if Lucas merely introduces aliens... that's a bit left field. It really doesn't tie in thematically with the previous movies nor does it really have anything to do with the character of indiana jones. It would be a shame if the last Indiana Jones movies goes out in such a manner... it's kind of like if Rocky Balboa was about Rocky's desire to become the best ballet dancer. Sure we would go through all the motions... rocky coming to gripes with the loss of adrian, we would still get a training montage and we would get a physical showdown at the end of the movie where Rocky performs the ballet... but it wouldn't be true or consistant to the character or the franchise. Similarly, if this movie is about aliens, we have all the same notes, Indie fighting shadowy government officials, indie exploring dark and spooky environments, indie discovering something most people don't think of as real... but it just would not be true to the character or the franchise. This sort of plot belongs in a different movie... Now, if lucas goes further to suggest or explicitly state that previous instances of mystical occurances were merely the result of alien influences... well, that changes everything and it directly contradicts the implicit rules that were set down in the movies and TV show.
