Are you serious? Are you really saying that the lack of competition would have benefited consumers more? We would still have players costing around a thousand dollars if it weren't for the war. DVDs had a much higher rate of adoption and their prices remained stable for much longer compared to how rapidly BD and HD-DVD prices dropped. Look, I don't care what happens to toshiba or MS, I don't own any stock in either company nor do I know people who work for them. The only thing that I care about, in this situation, is me and what's best for me is lower prices. Now, you can argue that places like amazon have lower prices than MSRP, but so what? I only buy discs during their various sales anyways but if you stop and think that if brick and mortar stores sell BD for significantly lower than MSRP so will stores like amazon. It's still a win for consumers. I honestly don't get how anyone can argue that lack of competition is a good thing.

wow, xbox tech support is filled with a bunch of barely literate morons. I emailed them asking why my 360 won't stream .mp4 files off of either a NAS or my vista box. So far, they've asked me about my Live connection, told me that, "no, I'm wrong and my xbox *is* streaming .mp4 files from a NAS and now they're saying that the 360 isn't fully compatible with vista/wmp11 and that's why it won't stream.

meh, I don't get the strong reaction to the fanservice in MF. It certainly isn't any worse than gundam00 or eureka 7 or even BSG where nearly every episode features Six in some skimpy dress or in complete undress.

I'd actually be okay with that. look on the bright side, for those of us who have already paid, we paid when the dollar was slightly* stronger against the yen, so that mean we actually paid less then people who are going to pay in a month or so.

I think the time to get worried is when whole scenes get turned into talking head shots and hero battle sequences start getting recycled.

seriously? you guys are complaining about recycling the launches? This coming off of gundam seed? Where half of every episode was comprised of recycled launch shots?

are you kidding? Anytime a non gundam meister is on the screen it looks like crap. The politicians for example are horrendously awful. And even the meisters are usually just standing around and talking (when not in their gundams). They're almost manequins, people in frontier are walking around, singing, dancing, jumping on each other and turning into little loli dinosaur monsters. For example, episode 19... the battles are laughable, consisting mostly of talking heads and a lot of the action shots are the typical: close shot of a gundam drawing a weapon, talking head shot of pilot screaming, and then cut away shot of a gundam in a "cool" pose as his enemy blows up or whatever. Doesn't even approach the fight choreography of macross frontier. I'm sorry, but I don't think you can honestly compare gundam00 to what we've seen in MF, either in character animation or in dog fights.

I like KK as well, I actually think it's a cute/interesting idea that the micronization process can be affected by the individual's genetic traits. And hell, I'm just happy that we have a modern anime show that isn't full of angst ridden brooding characters.

are you kidding? gundam 00 had some horrible animation problems. I'd say gundam 00 is there with Bleach/naruto in terms of animation quality and MF beinging somewhere between them and eureka 7

yeah, I'll agree that MF isn't up to par with Eureka 7, but then again, a lot of OAVs aren't up to par with Eureka 7. Eureka 7 was amazing, the 2D character designs and animation were top notch and the mechanical animation was equally impressive.

sure there are some animation problems but I find the overall quality to be very good and I think it compares pretty favorably compared to other current series such as gundam 00

actually, the subs don't make the judges look creepy but this post sure does make you look creepy.

sorry, i got confused there. For some reason i was thinking of gattai and their mkv releases. My bad, yeah yours plays just fine on ps3/360.

it reads very well, but it seemed like the brightness/contrast was pretty off on this release... contrast was close to blown out while a lot of scenes seemed way too dark compared to the raws.

2nded... or .mp4. I'd like to watch the higher res versions off my 360/ps3. And for whatever reason mk2vob doesn't like one of your codecs so it won't do the grunt work for me. :|
