Huh? Iron Man doesn't follow the ultimate Iron Man back story *at all*. Ultimate Tony Stark was covered in some sort of nanite second skin to counteract some sort of genetic tinkering which spread "undiferentiated neural tissue" throughout his body (he has a giant brain in his upper body). Ulimate Tony also has a brain tumor, not a heart problem which is squarely 616. And the MK III doesn't look anything like the ultimate IM suit. The movies are taking some queues from the Ultimates, like the costumes for the x-men and sam jackson as Nick Fury (awesome) but the actual story lines ares pretty different.

Meh, Graham's relationship with Yamato hasn't really been that beneficial to us at all. The latest toys, we heard about through regular channels, magazines, conventions, etc. It's not like the old days where Graham was able to bring us insider information.

I think 2nd movie will have tony getting depressed and become more of an alchy and it looked like Pepper and that shield agent had a little chemistry by the end of the movie. I'd rather have more of Mandarin's operations slowly revealed in the 2nd movie. I think Mandarin is too big of a threat to be wasted on the 2nd movie... I'm assuming there's going to be a third movie.

Since the yf-21 has the 'delimiter mode', will the destroids have a 'blown to hell' mode? There were some awesome shots of mangled destroids in SDFM I'd love to see re-created.

don't forget, during the closing graphics they showed a mini-gun being mounted to the back of the armor, that's clearly a nod towards WM.

well, we all realize it's anime magic, but when the show tries to explain the technology it's fun to run with it and try to figure out the internal logic of the show.

It doesn't make sense to me that gerwalk would require less power and thus have power left over for ECA. Just the dynamics of keeping the valk hovering would require more power since the wings aren't doing any lifting and then there's the power used for forward momentum and then there's the power used in moving the limbs. Same for battroid. If anything, fighter mode seems the most energy efficient, at least to me. anyhows, when the lobster pulled gilliam from the sky originally, the vf-25 was in fighter mode and then transformed trying to get away. If fighter mode were more vulnerable, the initial grab on the legs should have resulted in some pretty nasty damage.

yeah, I agree. Those characters may be in similar roles, but their personalities are quite different as are their respective relationships to one another.

yeah, and remember what obi said to him before he left, "your troubles are only beginning." or something to that effect. I think he wasn't referring to the obvious slaughtering of his men but having to account for his actions to the mandarin.

I don't see any logical reason why ECA would be limited to battroid. And as Mr. March has pointed out, there are numerous scenes peppered throughout the various Macross shows where valks, not in battroid mode, took insane amounts of abuse. Just in ep 1 of MF. A lobster pulls a VF-25 out of the sky in fighter mode and then holds it by a leg while gilliam has the engines lit and thrusting trying to get away from it and then later it shakes it by the arms.

They just have no idea what they're talking about. MF has about the same level of fanservice as gundam 00 and way less than a show like BSG. And it's NO comparison compared to actual loli anime like Love Hina or the current kanokon.

if we're going to say that ranka is "loli" then Mao should also count. They both wear sundresses, which are apparantly scandalous now, and we've seen both in a swimsuit, also scandalous. I seem to recall that we even got a cleavage shot of Mao, which we haven't had of ranka, which makes mao positively promiscuous in comparison. And don't forget her "girls gone wild" older sister all prancing around naked.

phishing emails look *very* real. The one I got said it came from a legit ebay corporate email account. As a rule, I never click on links from emails, especially if it re-directs me to my account. I always manually go to my account to double check through normal means.

nah, that makes a lot of sense to me. The iron monger looked almost like a mech. Given its size, it's pretty obvious Obi wasn't in 100% control over the movement of the suit. So the suit must have had some sort of 'fly by wire' control scheme to it where Obi gives a general direction to the suit and the suit's AI figures out the rest, where as in Tony's suits, Tony is doing most of the fine manipulation of movement. So yeah, it's going to take Tony a lot longer to get proficient. It's like learning to drive stick versus an auto transmission.

I agree, Frontier is off to a much quicker start compared to SDFM. Alto is already a pilot by episode 4 while Hikaru was in training in episode 5 of SDFM. The love triangle is already set up and the wingmen are already established where as in SDFM they weren't even introduced until episode 8.
