  1. Well, I hope you're right in regards to the sculpt but I doubt we'll see any major proportion changes. But to me, it looks like the fighter isn't wide enough and the rear of the plane looks truncated. My guess is that the width of the wing roots and the length of the wings was a compromise for battroid mode as well as shortening the overall length of fighter... keeps the legs more in proportion in battroid mode. As for the yamato versus bandai thing... well, I think people see what they want to see.
  2. oh, don't be so snarky mr. bandaide. You guys are getting your chance, let's all see what bandai can do and then we'll all dogpile on them for any compromises they make.
  3. get over yourself. If yamato had done this, we would have line art comparisons up by now and we would be debating every angle and proportion.
  4. If Sony and MS really want their systems to be multimedia hubs they need to work on supporting more file formats and update their codecs... oh, and improve browsing on both systems. If I use the "genre" search, I shouldn't have to look at a 1,000 songs, I should be looking at the sub folders broken down by genre.
  5. if that's the DX... well, I'll have saved another 200 bucks. All three modes look like poo. Fighter mode is giving M7 flashbacks.

  8. Only half true. I would be more polite than to post a such a huge ass picture that when reduced 98% still requires a full screen to get the text to format correctly and I too get cable so I hear it just as often as mr. ballchinian.
  9. Yeah, it's just too bad the only time you ever heard those particular comments were in regards to that ginormous picture of a hand you posted... or when you turn the volume up on those late night cable shows you like to watch.

  12. well, my apologies then, I thought you were in the same camp as the people who are saying that episdoe 4 was just as bad as episode 6 and an example of "bad animation". As you pointed out, I agree that episode 4 has a different style of animation, I just don't think that it's an example of bad animation.
  13. yup, I agree. This has been a frank but polite conversation for the most part (besides the fun sniping wolfx and I have had at each other, but still in fun) there's no need for name calling or insults.
  14. but there is plenty of detail. Look at the curls in her hair. or the attention to detail in her hands or clothes. That is all detail.

I have no idea how you guys can watch episode 4 and say "detail is lacking"... in every shot when characters move, their hair and clothes get their own animation and there's plenty of detail in both. The whole "lack of detail" argument falls on how obviously the nose is drawn, from what I can tell of the complaints... but you guys completely ignore everything else. For instance, In the Sheryl shot, look at all the detail just in the hair alone and compare that to any shot in ep 6, there's no comparison. Look at her hands and clothes, there's plenty of detail. Even in a quick shot of the elder Saotome denying his son, when he turns his head away, his hair gets his own animation. Or when Alto is preening, how his hair moves in reaction to alto's movements. Same with earings and clothes. Anything that should move, moves and gets its own animation. Like what Macro KK walks away, her hair bounces as well as that little bit of cloth that covers the back of her head. Only, that cloth doesn't just move with the hair, but it REACTS to the hair, the hair bounces and causes the cloth to move. I'm at a complete loss as to how you guys can see that level of character animation and still say that the level of animation is lacking. Again, you guys are confusing style for quality as it relates to episode 4.

  19. I like the battroid mode just fine, but fighter mode looks off to me.
  20. we're both going to regret it. but those profile shots were hideous. badly drawn face, lacking detail. The major avatar looks like it was taken right out of robotech: SC and that last one is just plain wonky. Her face is akwardly drawn and looks completely flat and her left boob looks like it's hanging down near her belly button.
  21. given how he thinks some of the GitS shots I posted up looked "just fine" I think he's serious...

  23. What's the point of that? The first shot is a 3/4 profile with lighting to the side, the 2nd had a strong light source from the back. Of course details are going to be washed out. Go try it for yourself, have a friend stand with his back to the morning sun and then try looking up at his face and see how much you can make out.
