  1. he says in the first sentence that he's running vista 64. It could be the RAM, you might want to test them and see if you have a bad stick. 4GB of ram should be WAY more than sufficient to run 5 instances of IE.. unless each instance has like 10 open tabs.
  2. Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying we shouldn't let yamato know about when they frak it up, I was replying specifically to BoB. Yamato, imo, does deserve a lot of the flak it gets. they have an established history of messing up some minor detail on their "good" releases" and every once in a while, completely screwing up... My point was only that yamato is not alone in releasing poorly constructed or designed toys.

    Yawn!

that's funny, the topic title perfectly encapsulates both my thoughts on your whiny bitch post and you.
  4. Meh. by that, takara, bandai, mega house should also have closed their doors. I still look at my SOC eva unit 2 that came with paint chips around the elbows out of the box, my MP 01 that came with chrome paint spilled around the roof of the cab and the left chest piece BENT to the point it won't lock in bot mode and MP 03 that came out of the box with a bent tail spike, and my tachikoma has joints that are so loose that it's jealous of my Vf-0s. No ones perfect... and yeah, yamato really does seem to be the king of half assing it but honestly, a general decline in build quality seems to be a universal problem.
  5. don't forget the konig: couldn't figure out how to make the hip joints properly so we just shipped it anyways. To be fair, the sv-51 wing hinge thing is only in some units, that's not a design or manufacturing issue, that's just bad QC. I have a 1st release DD sv-51 and it doesn't have the hinge issue, it's not systemic by any means. Nor is the lack of a torso lock on the yf-19 a design/manufacturing issue. That's just a wish/would be nice type thing.
  6. we're not talking about reversing yellowing, we're talking about polishing (re-surfacing) the layer of plastic that has yellowed.
  7. I'm hoping for more codecs and more format support... would be nice is more robust library management.
  8. I don't care about if it's as durable as a chunky.. I don't use my toys as clubs.. i just care that it doesn't look like a chunky monkey fell on the damn thing while the plastic was cooling.
  9. Why do you keep reading these yamato threads then? Are you the toy version of the crazy evangelist guy?
  10. true, given enough money and time, nearly anything is possible. ... I think people just have unreasonable expectations, frankly.
  11. yes and no. It depends on why the plastic is weathering and how deeply it is affected. If the problem is due to inherently unstable plastic... say the pigment is just unstable and reacting to oxygen, then you can grind away pretty deeply and you're going to really affect the way the toy looks... the bigger the surface area, the more you'll need to work the surface to get it to look "right".
  12. Anytime you use a polishing agent, like toothpaste, what you're doing is resurfacing the plastic... grinding away the layer that has yellowed and exposing plastic where the pigment has not been degraded.
  13. I'm very happy as well. The characters look like their manga counterparts... I don't know how someone could expect an animated series to retain the sketchy look of the manga.
  14. holy monkey poo on a toasted english muffin... it took me something like 5 years to have that many.
  15. that would be cool. an assortment of real world missiles, air to air and air to ground missiles for customs and include the daisy cutter.
  16. the daisy cutter should have shipped with the CF sv-51.
  17. I wouldn't be so disapointed it they were 1/100
  18. awesome. The vajra version of the regult is pretty darn interesting as well as that zentradi with the gu-11 gunpod.
  19. I know that's a prototype. i'm talking about the overall proportions. Completely off, the 1/72 is a squat little monkey while the animation has the vf-25 as lanky and lean. Just look at the head, reminds me of the yamato 1/60 vf-1s... all squished and flat and the torso is way too squat.
  20. Let's just keep saying those are 1/72 MG models, well, they still look like crap but that way I still have hope.
  21. MacrossMan: Congrats on the birthday and again, congrats on your fine missus. Ghostkiller: awesome.
  22. I'm just happy those aren't the DX. There is still hope.
  23. Thanks for the clearer picture of the DX! well, I hope it looks like ass due to the angle of the picture and not because the propportions are all jacked up. I hope the squat torso is just because it's a prototype and they couldn't transform it properly.

    Thunder Hammer

seriously huh? They did a good job on the model though, look they even bothered to do the little details like the seam running down the middle of the vf-1s head.
