  1. sooooo... you're saying that bandai is going to scrap fugly DX and give us all an awesome 1/100???
  2. true, but it looks good in gerwalk.
  3. From a scientific standpoint? ROTFLMAO. I speed read, it doesn't take long to read a sentence. And if I missed something, that's the joy of the rewind button. Unfortunately, there's no button to replace crappy voice "acting" who think that all anime characters need to have funny/interesting "voices". And from a scientific standpoint, I prefer to hear the correct pronounciation of character's names. I'd rather read a novel then hear one more person pronouce Akria as "uh-keer-rah".
  4. meh, gerwalk on everything since the VF-1 seems to be an afterthought, imo.
  5. If any of those are right, we're going to blame you.
  6. I wouldn't worry about gaps and what not. It's just a resin prototype. Think back to the GN-U toys and how the seam lines were diminished greatly from the prototypes to the production models. I'm sure we'll see a similar improvement in fit and finish. same with the pose... it's resin, it can probably barely support its own weight.
  7. It's the awesome is what it is. It's rap by nerds, for nerds. There's all sorts of nerdcore, like programming nerdcore, hacking nerdcore, anime nerdcore. What's awesome is that the beats are often sampled from those area, or people will make their own instruments from whatever bit of nerd paraphenalia that makes noise, they'll do loops or distortions and take samples.
  8. So, do we have anyone here who does Macross or anime nerdcore? Or any performers to recommend in general? I'm just starting to get into this subgenre and would appreciate direction!
  9. haha, i get it. Well, good luck with your quest and as long as you keep updating us with valk porn, more power to you!
  10. Given the obvious design inspiration, don't you agree that it's not only perfect, but mandatory?
  11. I hope so.
  12. nice, the 1/72 looks much better with the torso properly transformed.
  13. all HD is compressed as a rule, even blu-ray, HD-DVD is a compressed version of the master. But as it relates to this discussion, even Verizons much vaunted FIOS is still compressed. All sat and cable providers compress their signals. And for you sports fans, live shows are double compressed, compressed when they beam the feed to wherever and compressed again when they pipe it to your home. And yeah, a lot of movies and shows are just upscaled and sometimes stretched... which is just hilarious. When TNT does those HD LOTR marathons, those are just upscaled, they look identical to what I see when I watch the DVDs on my PS3.
  14. part of the problem is that cable/sat providers try to put too many channels for their bandwidth so you end up with lots of compression, so in some markets, over the air HD gives people a far better image than comcrap or other providers.

    Two Questions.

Which is great for you, but even yamato owned up to the fact that the VF-0 was flawed, hence the material changes and the replacement arms they offered (sold).

    Two Questions.

I don't know how to tell if it is still in the box. But the reissue should have the feet fix, and the gunpod fix. So if the feet can lock out and hold the weight in battroid, then you should be good. I think safest is to look for a vf-0s/ghost combo. If you're looking for one, there's a member selling one for a good price in our for sale section.

    Two Questions.

out of the various yamato releases: - The 1/48 VF-1(x) has the fewest problems and is a safe bet in terms of QC and design - The 1/60 YF-19 has a few problems, like a gunpod that doesn't sit straight in fighter mode, but if you can find the w/ FAST pack & combo set or the 25th anniversary repaint, those two have resolved all design issues. Though there is no lock for the chest in battroid and GERWALK mode, which some people find annoying. - The 1/60 SV-51 DD type has a few problems, loose leg joints and wing armaments that don't like to stay on as well as a few having a problem with one of the wing hinges, NORA and CF type are flawless from all accounts. - The 1/60 VF-0s and CF are plagued with busted arms. And the VF-0s has a few other problems like the feet not locking out in battroid and the gun not fitting on the arm peg. There's apparantly some chemical reaction between the plastic and the rubber friction inserts that causes the plastic to go brittle and shatter into itty bitty pieces. The shin ghost combo might have the arm fixes, but the only safe bet is the VF-0s reissue or the VF-0s Ghost combo. There's the 1/60 yf-21 and the new 1/60 VF-1s ver 2.0 coming out shortly and Graham has promised us flawless toys, but most of us are keeping our fingers (and toes) crossed.

    Two Questions.

Only the early yamato 1/72 macross plus valks and the original 1/60 vf-1 have any substantial diecast. the 1/48s have a tiny amount of diecast, landing bay doors, landing gears, and the swing bar the newer 1/60 valks have die cast landing gears and die cast hips/swing bar.
  19. Yup. Not to mention that fleets in the Macross Universe are so huge that they can just bombard the entire planet. Not having to worry about somebody shooting from below you doesn't matter if your entire atmosphere catches on fire.
  20. heh, something new to complain about! YES! I like the rectangular ports, I just think they look cool, and it makes more sense to me for GERWALK and battroid modes to have thrust distributed.
  21. I don't think it was consistent until DYRL. In SDFM, sometimes they had the rectangular ports and sometimes they had the round ones. The line art shows both as well. The VF-1s strike in the design works shows the rectangular ports.
  22. don't worry, I'm sure they'll have left something wrong for us.
  23. The looks like it just came out of the factory. beautiful
