I don't see why anyone is "defending" this anyways. Even Yamato owned up to the fact that they screwed up. end of story. When we pressed Graham on it, he TOLD US that yamato said they were only able to fix around 1/2 of the inventory before they shipped. So that's great if your's is fine but when the manufacturer is saying that there is a problem (or at least a potential problem in regards to the Shin type) arguing that there is no problem is just silly, imo.

Why not? Old or not, the Macross Canon is still a respectable weapon and just having the Macross in the fleet would be a huge morale booster.

I would be heartbroken if the Macross gets taken out in some meaningless fight just for shock value.

I'm going to stick with my theory that global took the actual SDF-1 out looking for the megaroad and was never heard from again so the UN SPACY made a replacement Macross and just made some story up about how global died of a broken heart and the crew brought the Macross back home and thats the ship we saw in Mac Plus.

we just refuse to believe that our beloved Macross could be left marooned on some backwater planet, listing in some pathetic lagoon.

Nah, being able to stow the gunpod to the airframe looks to be a trait of the VF-25. If you check out the scene where altoh does his flyby in GERWALK as Ranka sings, you can see his gunpod is stowed under the fuselage and not on the arm or on the leg. It's pretty interesting because in episode 11, there's a pretty clear shot of the gunpod being stowed between the two arms as Altoh watches the VF-25s launching while he waits for Sheryl.

they did show it, watch the seen where the VF-27 takes off after them, it's clearly sporting the new fold booster.

Everytime I see the macross sitting in that lagoon, listing slightly and looking like that, there already is a flood of mighty man-tears.

Still don't like the changes made to the proportions but whatever, they took the external canopy hinge off. The other stuff is livable. And yeah, that low price point really helps with that.

meh... I think people are being a little childish over a free product and I think Sony bit off a bit too much to chew for a free product. I don't get the appeal of Home... but then, I don't get the appeal of 2nd Life or any of those other services. I just don't think it will be the system seller that people think it will be but I think it should be a fun diversion during the lulls between games.

I just have a hard time imagining things getting so bad they need to field the Macross... and against who exactly? Against the seperatist colonies talked about in Mac Plus?

So what if this is the real Macross, and the one they have on earth is the sister ship? so, crazy fanboy talk... what if a distraught global takes the SDF-1 out on a search for the missing Megaroad? When it goes missing as well, the UN SPACEY makes a replacement and has it come back, fearful of the negative PR of not only losing the megaroad but the Macross as well?
