  1. Yup, we don't know much about the planet, it could be smaller or of lower mass compared to Earth, making for a cold core, like Mars. It could be closer to system's sun enabling human inhabitation. IMO, it's the mistake of the viewer to assume a molten core. And if there were a molten core, being exposed to space wouldn't freeze it. Without some sort of medium to conduct heat into (such as atmosphere or water) it would take a very very long time for that much heat to radiate away into space.
  2. in some ways yes... some ways not so much. I personally liked the real time fight mechanics a lot more and the graphics and emotion engine are really great. The weapon and armor customization is pretty good as well, but hampered by one of the clunkiest inventory systems in recent memory. And the main story is very engaging with a huge bang of a climax. And the various classes are really distinct and allow for some really different gameplay which helps replayability. On the other hand, KOTOR has much wider variety and much more emotionally engaging system of side missions... and the while KOTOR has fewer visitable worlds, the worlds you do visit felt much fleshed out than the ME offerings. Definitely the side missions in ME feel (and are) repetitive and rather pointless. It felt like level grinding. There are some technical glitches in the 360 version of ME as well. The 360 apparantly can't dynamically flush its memory so after a while textures just stop loading and load times in mission can get rather long (15~20 seconds of loadtime disguised as the world's slowest elevators). I think the game is worth playing. Bioware has already released a DLC mission and a sequel is planned (supposed to be a trilogy) which is supposed to pick up directly after the end of ME.
  3. conversation on Mass Effect took over the 360 thread for a while. There were a bunch of us who were big fans.
  4. got back from it. Pretty good. I liked it a lot better than the first one. Thought the pacing was much better and the acting was more consistent, that is, thank god
  5. it's sad that real birds need to suffer for the sake of our plastic birds.
  6. they're strong. Those are the magnets I used to "fix" the missile pegs on my SV-51
  7. nice. I like how the nora has that blood red tint to it after your PS
  8. hehe, amazing. It looks like it would explode from the far away shots but when you get up close, you can see everything is lovingly arranged. And if I was Guld, I'd be flying down to that blonde as well.
  9. I wonder if Yamato will end up doing the Macross 7 license anyways. Without frontier they're going to have to find new ways of milking the macross cash cow... and by cash cow, I mean us.
  10. Thanks, but it only looks impressive because they're all clustered together.
  11. there's no excuse for that considering the ginormous space behind the seat in the single pilot VFs.
  12. will wait for Kevin.
  13. Are there accepted specs for the ratings on the armament and defenses of the SDF? Personally, I think the Macross would obliterate a constitution class ship.
  14. Ah, that's just pure and righteous awesomness right there.
  15. That gray does look very nice. Gives it a much military feel than the bright yellow.
  16. I see it. It's the helmet with just the visor down (not the full face shield).
  17. Thanks for the compliments! I'll get around to a collection shot one of these days. My stuff is half in boxes and half here and there. Nothing as nice as what I've seen posted here.
  18. please excuse the poor lighting and lack of light box...
  19. no clue. I got my wii fit and my yf-21 today. So between being told how old, fat, and unbalanced I am and fiddling with the 21.. I really haven't had much time for gaming.
  20. Ah, awesome, the telescoping head in fighter/gerwalk is a great detail.
  21. I'm an old school fan and i love Frontier. I think it beautifully updates and reboots the franchise without scraping it or reimagining the Macross Universe in the way that Seed tried with Gundam. And I think the lead characters are just fine. I find anyone of them compelling and I find myself enjoying the character driven "filler" episodes just as much as the mecha-porn episodes.
