The show also made it pretty clear that the virus in ranka was dormant and that it was only activated after intense emotions from Ranka. And the show DID make it clear that the vajra was trying to communicate with Ranka.. think back to the numerous times ranka was overcome with grief when vajra were being destroyed. And yes... making Sheryl able to communicate effectively with the vajra was a major plot point in the finale. Who knows, maybe it's because they have a singular consciousness and only queens have distinct consciousness that are manifested through the group link... like how a hive of bees acts as one but each hive is distinct. Or maybe it's because the particular strain of virus in ranka and sheryl was taken from a queen. But what does it matter? Ultimately, the show was about Alto, Ranka and Sheryll finding themselves and deciding who they are... it's not a discovery channel show on vajra biology.

I think it's worth it. And think about the movies coming out... wall-e and dark knight. Both should look and sound amazing on blu-ray. Iron Man looks and sounds fantastic.

Yup, ranka didn't have to be "with" the Vajra for them to be able to identify her as one of them. They have a distributed consciousness with instantaneous communication.... which was explained numerous times and was the whole reason why Grace was interested in them in the first place.

excessive fan service? Compared to what? gundam 00, Mac II, gunbuster, evangelion, code geass... all have WAY more fanservice compared to MF. Nope, not silly at all. A perfect example of xenophobia and ethnocentricism. The vajra don't comprehend the idea of "many" and they see part of themselves captured by the unknown, so they react... not that hard to understand.

Well, that's the thing, the GT-R doesn't fit "Prime" but it does fit "Convoy". Having Convoy as a title, instead of a name really opened up the character to more varied interpretations and I'm glad to see that the american version of transformers is following that lead. I'm getting one, it's a fantastic sculpt, imo.

I think shows like X-files, Lost, Alias, BSG have proven that fans are more than willing to stick with a show even if they don't understand everything that's going on screen. I like the show well enough, but I have to say that the fact that all four main characters are now chronically angry and emo isn't winning me over any.

I have that SKU as well, works fine on my ps3. BDLIVE and extras play fine as well.

I'm still looking forward to getting mine. The lack of tampo printing hurts but offset by how posable it is.

congrats on the baby! i'm sure time will fly since we're pretty fixated on the house right now. Besides, I've got a few things order still so i'll have a few toys to play around with. I've been thinking about what to do with all the boxes... I was thinking of breaking them down and putting everything into rubbermaid bins. Not sure what to do with all the boxes though. They've been through a few moves so most of the 1/48 boxes aren't in mint condition and i honestly don't see myself selling off my collection. Still, seems like a shame just to toss them.

picked up my copy (blur-ray) at Fry's. Looks great, a pretty faithful transfer. Handles the change in cinematography in the desert very handedly. The blacks in the movie are handled very well, dark but with plenty of definition. Sound is impressive. It sounds to me that the low freq mix is pretty faithful to the theatrical release... so those of you with nice subs will have lots of fun. Still impressive for those of us with more entry level-mid level gear.
