It's entirely possible to present the concept of cultural exchange ending war without featuring a teen pop star singing and dancing on the bridge of a spaceship. that's the core of Macross right? Relationships and culture overcoming apparent divides and hostilities? I think it's possible to hold on to that core theme without alienating the non anime viewing audience with a big sing along at the end.

We have "America" in our country's name... United States of AMERICA... What should we call ourselves? Unitedstatesofamericans? Unitedstatesians? And while we may not be the biggest in terms of size, we more than make up for the difference in how much we consume. And the final resolution of macross still has plenty of things exploding. It's not like everyone sat in a big circle by the camp fire and sang songs... there was one person singing and lots of people blowing the crap out of each other. Besides, how is that so different from a show like The Incredibles where the big climactic fight happened while a family worked out their personal issues and reconciled their differences?

Considering when Taekwon V was designed and also considering the historic context of the design, it's no more or less than what Osamu Tezuka did in freely borrowing the look and feel of Disney when creating his designs. It's also remarkable that S. Korea's visual effects industry has reached the point where they're starting to compete with larger and better funded N. American studios. But hey, keep on knocking down what you don't understand if it makes you feel better.

The global scores updating must be off... I'm getting bronze medals in the speed lap sessions and coming in, supposedly, in the top ten... edit:: yeah. there has to be a synch error, cuz when I go look under "records" the top ten is completely different and I'm, rightfully, nowhere near it.

Yeah, wipeout HD is ridiculously hard. Didn't have nearly so much trouble with the PSP games. Even the novice AI is wiping the floor with me.

Just one last thing to consider, the insignia can't decode HD codecs, it downmixes DD, DD+ and DDHD to DD and DTS HD to DTS. This means you need to bitstream the audio to a receiver that can do the heavy lifting for you.

huh, I have the defective UPC but the fixed color discs, blue/grey. Oh well, unless the fix involves turning the volume up on the audio mix I don't really care.

because they don't own the film/tv/DVD rights to the images of those particular character so they can't show then. edit:The film rights thing makes sense, but there's shots of cyclops, sandman and other characters currently licensed to Fox... so I have no clue.

I wouldn't pinch pennies over a hundred bucks not when, as Uxi said, you can get the current benchmark Blu-ray player (PS3).
