  1. it's an interesting idea that mirrors RL events and it would have been an excellent idea as a What-If? title or even as part of the Ultimate continuity.
  2. yeah, great concepts but the lack of fleshed out characters really hurts the experience... the only character I ever cared about was the dog. I think lionhead needs to pick up some better writers and focus on a handful of characters in each town to interact with. I would love it if their lives were indirectly or directly affected by your actions. i know we get that to an extent with the property values and how well the towns grow but that doesn't mean as much to me as seeing a well fleshed out individual thrive or suffer.
  3. the lucien showdown has got to be one of the most anticlimactic boss battles of all time, both in the actual battle and than moral choice that comes after. Neither Rose nor any possible family are fleshed out well enough to have any real emotional weight, imo.
  4. yeah, lots of fun these next few weeks. wall-e, dark knight, firefly, serenity... I love that the BD serenity and firefly are getting new content and aren't just straight transfers.
  5. I'm going to own 4 versions of that movie when the BD comes out.
  6. there's nothing wrong with the genre, just that particularly bad movie.
  7. I doubt that we'll see any changes on the sculpt from here on in. I expect the only changes will be in the finish and tampo printing.
  8. I think battroid looks good, pretty anime accurate but fighter mode does look stubby for a variety of reasons including the short tail fins.
  9. yeah, I think the stubby nose and short fighter mode is a compromise for battroid. The legs would have to be much longer for fighter mode to look right. And apparently that long head laser is right, at least according to the line art.
  10. you're post is a few minutes late, it's already started.
  11. " The only improvements I see are articulated fingers, and thigh swivels." if those are the only things you noticed than it's no wonder the Dx looks good to you.
  12. You're smoking crack. Go over to anymoon and look at the 1/72 vf-11 again. fighter mode was a gappy, ill fitting mess. fins on the legs were way too small Shoulders stuck out way too far in battroid mode and it was made worse by the overly large canards that yamato tacked on trying to hide the fugly shoulder hinges. The whole thing was top heave with short legs making it look short and stocky and the feet were laughably small, not to mention the small FAST packs. the 1/60 obviously fails the large tail fins but fixes almost everything else and includes a retractable heatshield and articulated proportional feet. http://anymoon.com/blog/2008/05/12/yamato-...stpack-edition/
  13. maybe it has short stubby landing gear? And those shoulders don't seem proportional. Quick, somebody do a line art comparison!
  14. wow, thanks for the pics! looks pretty good. tailfins are puny though. the escape pod feature is cool!
  15. the article makes some good points. Ultimately, BD discs and equipment costs too much and studios are F@CKING STUPID in what movies they choose to release. do they really think the sort of person who's invested thousands (tens of?) just to watch movies really wants to watch Step it Up 2??? Get AAA titles on the shelves, release discs with HD audio (you hearing me warner bros?), and get the price down to DVD levels or include DVD/Digital copies at no extra cost.
  16. considering the heated debates we had about whether or not the 1/60 yf-19's wings were supposed to be angled down half a degree... I would say we hold yamato to a higher standard rather than cutting bandai slack.
  17. I was thinking that those back wing kibble would look better on the hips.
  18. yeah, the tail articulation looks good. still hoping for some neck/head articulation as well.
  19. yeah, obviously people who didn't want just an upscaled version of a 20 year old toy must also want a neon green flamenco guitar playing T-Rex carrying a water gun.
  20. yup yup! If the writers of trek don't care about chronology and consistencies, why should I?
  21. yay, some tail articulation.
  22. For those of you in the bay area, the Fremont Fry's still has the PS3 deluxe edition in stock.
  23. Only thing we know for certain are the two-seaters.
