Prometheus - on Blu-Ray and DVD Oct. 9, 2012
eugimon replied to Pizza the Hutt's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
yeah... I think the name Ridley Scott will be enough to attach this project to a wide audience. It's not like it's being directed by some guy who did the make up on that one movie you might have seen on netflix. -
I regularly fly my valks through the fog that my kid's humidifier makes and I pretend that it's clouds, so that wouldn't work for me... I mean, I used to... when I was a kid....

Yamato 1/60 VF-17 Nightmare Diamond Force

but why all the cloak and dagger to announce something that everyone already saw? Then again, it is Yamato's marketing department and by department I mean the crazy old lady that reads chicken scat in the back alley. -

yeah, there was a definite decline in quality from the 1/48 vf-1 to the vf-0, konig and yf-19. The yf-19 had problems with the plastic cracking from over tightened screws when it first came out. It's not surprising that other stress points would suffer as time goes on.

I'm not happy about the tampo printing either but the 17 looks like it has a lot more going on in terms of engineering than the 19 does, plus it's not as easy to milk in terms of variants and I doubt it's as popular as the 19... so I get why it costs more. But Tampo printing is cheap and we know they already have the stamps for the diamond force logo -

it's kind of a neat idea but if Yamato was so concerned with pleasing the customizers, then they should just has a kit version for every release and tampo up the regular releases for those of who buy toys -

That's bogus. tampo printing isn't particularly expensive. If they're going to charge such a premium the least they can do is give us some value-adds. -

If it is the case that there's no tampo... That's some BS right there. -

Seriously? So here we are again. You chime in on a thread, just to troll, call people names and spew your normal garbage, get called on it and then whine about how mean I am to you. -

I wonder if they had made the stock out of steel, if they could have made it thin enough for it to fold back around and over the barrel like it is in the anime and get it to fit in the leg? -

are you kidding? You called people who were pointing out the flaws in the "gap" theory "a$$hole lickers" and now you want to play the poor, defenseless card? Grow the frakk up. -

here's a rough PS job of what it would look like with the wing gloves retracted all the way, the way it's shown here: The empty space between the wing gloves and the back plate get filled in and the there's a minimal gap between the shoulders and the wings. If people want to get upset about that... shrug. Anyways, personally, I can't wait for it to come out! -

Jumping to unfounded conclusions, freaking out about a made up issue are not "criticisms". It's just freaking out about non issues. Just like when people were freaking out about the 19s gunpod being angled in the test shots and some of us pointed out that it was likely that the gunpod collapsed but no, the panic train continued till the toy came actually came out and lo and behold, the gunpod COLLAPSED. Other pics CLEARLY show that the wing gloves slide in and sit flush with the central back plate which would make the gaps disapear, ergo, there IS NO GAP issue. wing gloves slid in some wing gloves pulled out more, you can easily see the lock tabs for holding them in place here LOOK at the wing glove position. So, don't get your panties in a bunch just because someone is correcting someone else's mistaken belief in a toy that hasn't even come out you. If you don't like it, whatever. That's your personal taste, I couldn't care less. But I'm addressing the mistaken belief that the gerwalk is "gappy" when it's pretty clear that yamato followed the line art and made the wing gloves slide in. -

There is no midsection gap because the wing gloves slide in so the wings also move in and sit next to those braces that hold the back and cockpit together. It's plain to see in that one picture of the partially transformed battroid pic that the wing gloves slide in and sit flush with the central back plate. As for the chest plate not sitting flush with the cockpit, there's a picture showing how that pieces can be raised. Most likely it just wasn't pushed down far enough. -

Given that plus shows the yf-19 outclassing the 22, I never quite understood why in 7 the 22 was the ace/special forces valk and the 19 was the new mainline valk... was it just that Isamu out flew Guld?

And check out the collectionDX video review of it

plus it has the bayonet and a much nicer pilot figure.

Oh please, we get that Pioneer gives you a hard on, I'm talking about the way "made in Japan" was regarded as whole. It's easy to cherry pick out a few good products but for the average consumer, made in japan was cheap and disposable. And let's put things in perspective. When Sony's patents on the trinitron ran out, it was other JAPANESE companies that cannibalized them, like Mitsubishi. And while Samsung was off developing LCD panels, Sony was still pushing CRTs with their WEGA line. And yeah... considering pioneer was founded in the 30's, let's see what some home grown Chinese companies will be releasing in the next twenty years. Companies like huawei are fast becoming important players in the technology market, or should I be angry at them for stealing cisco's thunder?
