  1. Meh, I'm open to it once it's stable and more fleshed out... like I said, repeatedly, I'm just not interested enough to beta test for free.
  2. Unlike you, he's potty trained. But thanks for the advice, go take it yourself.
  3. Whatever man, I have a toddler at home, I know a load of crap when I smell one.
  4. that's kinda backwards, chinese factories were in trouble LONG before the scandals hit... it's WHY they resorted to such drastic cost cutting measures. The Chinese business scape is like the wild wild west, full of corrupt government officials, factory owners and plagued with a glut of factories, each one racing towards the rock bottom in terms of pricing in order to secure contracts. With labor and land costs going up and clients demanding increasingly high technical standards, many factories have resorted to cutting costs where ever possible, and unfortunately a lot of times this means at the materials level where poor or even hazardous materials have made their way in to cut costs.
  5. Really, where did mike say anything about "30 mins"? Oh, that's right, he didn't. I did and you took some pansy ass pot shot at me for it the first time and you brought it up again So if you're going to play and take pot shots at people, at least man up and admit when you get called on it.
  6. I agree with that and even with yamatos, you'll see they've deviated on a number of occasions for of durability and easability of play. The swing bar on the VF-1 and VF-0 is hardly anime accurate, nor is the new FAST pack nacelle attachment scheme. I'm just saying, all we know is that the DX deviates in a few areas from the anime, and even kawamori's sketches... we don't know WHY they deviate. So all this talk about it being based off of unpublished sketches or that it's impossible to be accurate and durable... it's just speculation. And I still don't see how the legs not sitting flush in fighter mode helps durability, playability or aesthetics, but I still have that's an issue with them not transforming it right.
  7. magnets. make the shoulder hinge metal, an actual metal and not that crap "diecast" sh1t, and put a strong magnet at the shoulder and it should hold the arm in place, or better yet, put another magnet in the shoulder assembly.
  8. and the G1 optimus prime had legs that would break off at the thighs if you looked at them funny. What's your point? And yamatos don't fall apart because of how they look, they fall apart because someone chooses crap plastics to used in high stress areas.
  9. Where did I condemn it, or say. "epic fail". I gave my reasons why I wasn't going to stick around for the beta, which I CLEARLY STATED it was and then said I would try again when Home was finished. I also went on to say that even I thought the area where Home was technically weak, the way server handles are transferred and connectivity issues, were probably due to it being a BETA. I also went on to explain I tried the game despite the fact the genre doesn't appeal to me and I even talked somewhat about how I could see the genre appealing to others. Maybe I have the attention span of a 5 year old, but at least I don't have the reading comprehension of one.
  10. I'm not knocking the format... I can see how a 2nd life type interface would be appealing... I know people who keep paying 15 bucks a month just so they can hang out in WoW and chat and "hang out" and I have to admit that when I used to play, just chatting with my friends whilst slaughtering monsters was half the fun. It's just not for me anymore... The people I would talk to online aren't hanging around online on their PS3s and if I want to play online games with them I'd rather meet them in the actual game lobby than in my virtual condo and then fire up the game. And since I'm at the age where my wife and I are spending money on our ACTUAL condo... I don't feel like buying virtual furniture to make my virtual condo more cozy and appealing. I dunno, maybe if you got to choose where your flat was, or maybe if like you suggest, there was some sort of game play element that made keeping up with the Joneses somehow *fun* instead of just expensive. Anyhows, it's hardly the killer app it was hyped up to be and I'd rather play "kingdom of kelflings" and kick around my little minions than Home at this point.
  11. And that has what to do with the DX looking like neither Kawamori's sketches or the anime?
  12. well, maybe he can work his magic for the 1/60 v.2 but it looks to me like there's a lot less spare space in the 1/60 v2 compared to the 1/48
  13. It's not obvious at all, the one sketch we've seen has significant differences between the anime and the DX versions.
  14. linda linda linda is not a fast paced movie, fyi. Tampopo has a much faster pace and is definitely a comedy.
  15. no.
  16. nothing, I was just playing along.
  17. that's awesome, so impressed with the little DRADIS screens.
  18. holy crap! I never expected this! What the hell is JJ thinking???
  19. are you new here?
  20. huh, I saw TONS of people in the central something something area. people clumped together and I can only imagine they were chatting. What bothered me is that when I tried to do an activity Home used that to dump me off the server with the "too many people logged on" error message. That's a pretty bogus way to do crowd control, once you're in you shouldn't get bumped because you're trying to do something and if that something was actually taking place on a new server it shouldn't dump you out of Home, it should dump you to where you were originally. I'm sure they'll get stuff like this sorted out though.
  21. yeah, I bet most plastic dyes are organic to begin with in some part. Organic dyes will react with oxygen as well as energy (like heat or light). So depending on how it's formulated plastic sitting in a nice cool closet can still yellow. Most modern plastics have anti UV chemicals mixed in but after awhile they too will fail. Here's the thing, if the dye used in those plastics ARE organic based, the free oxygen will actually destroy the pigmentation in the same why it destroys organic pigments in hair and whatever else H2O2 is used for. So it's very may well be that the ABS *plastic* is resistant to the acidic effects of H202 but the *dye* is not and that's why you're seeing a bleaching effect but not necessarily the sort of damage to the plastic itself that you would expect from dumping plastic in acid., But again, H202 in these concentrations is a mild mild acid.
  22. 30 mins, 2 time outs... I'm not a fan of 2nd life type things in the first place. So technical issues on top of a genre I care nothing about means pass for me.
  23. my standalone VF-0a was fine, had nice tight joints, feet that locked out, a backpack that stayed up. If it wasn't for the arms turning brittle and shattering at the shoulder and bicep swivel I would have been perfectly happy with it.
  24. ooooh Home is finally live. Will it make the PS3 teh awesome? edit:: wow, unimpressed. I don't know what I was expecting but the experience was not intuitive or fun. got booted out of my session twice, once trying to log in an again in the world... meh. I'll wait for the full version before I try again.
  25. wait wait wait... that thing is supposed to be the SDF-1 before it was the SDF-1? And what is that mecha thing? The original "veritech"? I have to see this now, this is going to be awesome! But then what are those alpha looking "veritechs"? I'm confused.
